To ask about hidden gratitude?

I've literally just had a pop up box about something to do with hidden gratitudes but it vanished before I'd had chance to read it in its entirety or take in what it was for. I can't see any threads about it but it looked like a new feature, has anyone else had this pop up?

I'm on the mobile site and that didn't happen to me, was able to close it easily. Maybe it depends between devices and there's a glitch with one type.

Why can’t it be called “like”? They could still keep it hidden so it doesn’t turn into a popularity contest. But “thanks” is a bit weird.

I also don’t like now how the report button is now where the bookmark button used to be, I’ve nearly reported about 3 posters today already.

You’d think on AIBU there would be more use for a middle finger button. Not that it would be considered “in the spirit of the site”!

Yes I really don't like how it's altered the bar below posts I'm now automatically clicking report instead of bookmark!!

I like it because it will be quick & often I am just happy someone posted something, why lengthen a thread with lots of "Great cheers for that!" posts.

Yes I've just seen the post on site stuff. To be fair it was posted several minutes after my thread. It would make more sense for MNHQ to post the thread and then a short while later implement the new feature.

Well quite.

What's wrong with actually telling people you appreciate their post? You could even mention why. Much more use than just clicking.

And how do we get notifications anyhow - email? or PM? Just sounds like clogging

Yes your quote button is now only accessible on the three dots which seems an odd decision as its a useful feature and report is now where bookmark was which is driving me bonkers.

I doubt it. I bet most won't be arsed to use it unless a very contentious issue.

But surely by using the thanks button and not making it known on the actual thread if you agree it will completely change the tone of the thread?, I want to know the general consensus, if people use the thanks button instead of making a comment I will have no idea.

Yes it seems random to have it as where only the poster can see it and surely quote or edit would be more useful on the bar under each post rather than having to click on the three dots to use those features.
