Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

Was Suzy Quattros fat nan the same person who got her hair cut and coloured and chose a red bob and said she looked like a 'fat match stick' 😂

I loved cutted-up pear. The ones that really stayed with me were ones I read years ago that I think got plenty of people banned and may have been made up, eg Mitmoo and the back garden lights, the woman who shitted on herself in M&S, the husband who moved out and took everything with him, including all the chutney.

Mexican house thief for sheer cheeky fuckery left me open mouthed. Can't find it on mums net though to read again .

Different people, same thread, neither of those people are me, but I'm on it under a previous name.

Lobster boy thread. I often wonder if the OP of that thread managed to convince her DD to leave her awful DH.

I know she has updated over the years and that the OP's own DH passed away. Was all just really sad.

I think she updated not too long ago - they're still together but the OP was still managing to maintain a relationship with her daughter.

Oh and the brilliant thread where the OP's wanker partner of years dumped her by text and ended with "no need to reply."
So she didn't. Ever. And it absolutely crackers, the prick. She was awesome.

Yes this one too, I often wonder what happened as he tried a few times to engage her again when it became apparent she took him at his word and didn't respond - ever!

grass321 · 02/09/2023 16:33

I know it had a mixed reception but I also liked the husband with a niche hobby like goose hunting and the wife literally sent him on a wild goose chase to get an evening of peace.

And on a more serious topic, Pamela touched me too.

stillavid · 02/09/2023 16:34

thank you @MalcolmsMiddle

AlexCabot · 02/09/2023 16:36

SadWidow, Magritte and the batshit phone.

My favourite thread of all time however is the one where the poster thought Line of Duty was a fly on the wall documentary and would not accept she was wrong. It was amazing and I've never been able to find it.

NotFastButFurious · 02/09/2023 16:37

The one where someone found a horse tied up outside the front of their house and then in the true spirit of Mumsnet parking threads she posted a diagram of it 🤣
found it!

Balonz 😂

Yes! The Balonz / SurprisedWithAHorse thread!

Sausagesonlegs · 02/09/2023 16:38

A thread from years ago where the poster who admired the class and sophistication of French women asked for ideas on 'how to be more French'.
'Take a lover' was a response that I still quote. Wish I could find it as the suggestions were funny.

KanyeSouth · 02/09/2023 16:40

Another one for the surprised with a horse thread!

The one where the poster wanted a live in nanny but wanted her to work all day minding the baby and then share a room with the baby at night even though the mum herself planned to get up for the night feeds, she planned to go into the nanny's room several times a night to tend to the baby. She also wanted the nanny to find somewhere else to stay every weekend so her family had the house to themselves.

I had never come across such batshittery in my life!

Oh my god I remember this.

GlitchStitch · 02/09/2023 16:41

The shocking post from a man who was a regular and well known poster. It was on a light-hearted thread and he said that his neighbour's dog kept barking so one day he put it in his car, drove it many miles away and dumped it somewhere then returned home and never said anything. He was telling it like a funny anecdote, it was horrible. He disappeared after the backlash although I suspect he is still around under a different name.

@Mamai90 you’ll be shocked at how many interviews I’ve been to that expect you to do all of those things!!

AnneShirleysNewDress · 02/09/2023 16:42

Snapped and farted 😂

OneLittleFinger · 02/09/2023 16:42

Many from the diatance past:

  • Mini and her Mum
  • a farmer's wife who was stuck in her in-laws' house with her husband, who she seemed was going to be screwed over when his parents died.
  • someone who shared a drive with two neighbours, one of which seemed determined that the OP shouldn't use it and tried to get the other onside
  • another neighbour dispute, whereby the nrighbour was having the front garden done and their builders 'accidentally' damaged the boundary wall so they 'kindly' had it rebuilt with no expense to the OP, only it matched their front wall and not the OP's. The wall was, of course, on the OP's land and the new wall now devalued her property.
Noicant · 02/09/2023 16:42

The one where a womans husband had a locked room and she wasn’t allowed in, I really wanted her to just break the door down. I would have taken an axe to the door as soon as I was told I wasn’t to go in.

The one where a womans husband didn’t post her sons 11+ application form.

Sistine chapel, mexican house thief, definitely.
