How much do you roughly drink per day?

I think I'm about to discover I seriously don't drink anywhere near enough....

I roughly drink a day:
3 teas
500ml other juice/soda/rarely water 😳😳

I'm only asking as I'm wondering if I am dehydrated a lot of the time.. I just don't feel like I need to drink much 😬

@DoraSpenlow whilst not wanting to panic you and of course could be nothing, it might be worth having a read of early signs of diabetes as one of them is peeing a lot, especially at night. What you say you drink genuinely shouldn't have you peeing 6 times a night or unable to do a food shop without going to the loo

I absolutely need to drink more-and less of the fizzy stuff! 😬

Thank you but it never used to happen before I upped my fluid intake.

Strokethefurrywall · 22/08/2023 22:56

It totally varies and I live in a tropical climate and exercise a lot so technically I should drink more but I don't.
Yesterday day I had 3 coffees and then a decaf tea

Today so far (it's coming up 5pm) I've had just shy of 3 liters of fluids because I was training hard this morning and lose a lot through sweat.

Im totally lax about drinking on days Im not working out and I don't feel thirsty a lot.

When I visit the Uk I'm always perturbed at my mothers insistence that she can't leave the house without a water bottle in case she dehydrates. It's 10oc in West Sussex and we're going to the high street for an hour woman, you're not running the Badwater ultramarathon!

I struggle to drink more than a litre a day of liquids. Then I get cramp. Am gradually persuading myself to drink more.

Borborygmus · 22/08/2023 23:28

9 mugs of (decaf) tea.

I feel like a wizened, dried up, dehydrated, septic prune after reading what the rest of you are drinking! I need to sort myself out!

Don't worry - I don't know anyone in real life who drinks the amount of water that MN'ers claim to drink Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 23/08/2023 06:58

Yes, this is a self selecting sample. It’s going to make you feel as bad as the “how much alcohol do you drink” and “ how much do you weigh” threads.

Scaryghost · 23/08/2023 14:00

Probably 4/6 coffees and 2 x 700mls of weak squash

AddUpToNothing · 23/08/2023 14:16

Definitely nowhere near enough.

I have never drank a lot. I’ll have a cup of tea in the morning, a glass of water with lunch and then a can of Coke Zero or a glass of water with dinner.

Pineapples198 · 23/08/2023 20:07

I don’t think I drink any where near enough either. I have about 4 cups of tea a day, a glass of juice with my dinner and a glass of milk in the evening /bedtime.

I have tried to drink more water before - I have too if I’m giving blood or they can’t find the vein. But I just can’t stop going to the toilet if I drink anymore! If I drink the recommended 2 litres a day i have to wee every half hour…
even though I don’t drink much my wee is always clear or nearly clear so Im not sure if I’m dehydrated or not?! I should be 😂

dehydratedandcarbohydrated · 23/08/2023 22:52

Definitely more people like me have came along at the end! Feel less abnormal now 😂

Ah least 4 litres of water a day then pop and an odd coffee on top of that but I have kidney disease so have had to increase consumption

Saysoe · 23/08/2023 23:35

3 coffees, a cup a soup, 2 drinks of squash (half litre in total I would say) - half a bottle of win 3 times a week. That’s it.

FastFood · 23/08/2023 23:38

On average:
2 to 3 coffees
1 pint of water
1 cup of herbal tea

Some days, I don't drink water at all. I'm trying to get into the habit of drinking more, but I just forget and rarely feel thirsty really.
