If Clive can't get a chainsaw back to a next door neighbour he's hardly going to be returning a boat to a different country.

I think that was made up humour rather than a true tale 🤣

Like there's a difference in this story! 🤣🤣

Sillyname63 · 13/08/2023 14:07

When will the Gofunding appeals start?

I think this is them just after the now 8 year old was born: Man caused crash after driving wrong way on A451 - BBC News

Clive's got form then.

Really wish at this moment WE were manning / womaning that St Lucia High Commission.

I have to say, that working in a High Commission / Embassy really could be bloody entertaining in terms of the stories you are going to end up hearing.

I suspect the Commission is really trying to look after Dave because he's providing them with a certain amount of regular entertainment. I bet they otherwise aren't generally that busy!

What contradiction? The "Son born on beach" bit. As opposed to "Daughter born on boat". You know, that bit. I mean, call me fussy, but thats a pretty big one.

That’s not a contradiction in Clive snd Iuliia’s story though - like I said, just sloppy journalism! I thought you’d found an interesting new piece of the puzzle for us all to theorise over 🤣

SunRainStorm · 13/08/2023 14:31

I think it's an unauthorised surrogacy/adoption and they're trying to pass the baby off as having been born at sea.

I'm also surprised there aren't news articles questioning their version of events by now.

Probably because despite the amazing imaginations and detective skills of MNers.

There probably is no more to this story than 2 dippy free lovers who thought it was as simple as swanning off, giving birth, registering birth and getting passport to come home.

I think sometimes we like to think there's so much more because it's easier than considering there complete Fannie's like this able to reproduce!

Funniest running thread there's been for a while though!

The thing is that is this just some syndicated news story that no one is really reporting on. We see it here all the time. Someone makes a post and a then some tuppenny - ha’penny journalist turns it into a story.
As said above, where did the story come from? Did Clive contact a U.K. newspaper? Will anyone care enough to follow it up?

Testina · 13/08/2023 14:43

@LadyHester if you looks at the photos in any of the articles, they credit Clive Gurzhii / SWNS.

Google that and Clive’s name and at least one of the article versions says Clive was interviewed by SWNS - South West News Service, who appear to be a British news agency that sell stories globally.

So SWNS is the source - but who put them on to Clive is anyone’s guess. Could be the maker of the daily FO phone call 🤣

I have no words - woman now stranded after wanting to give birth in St Lucia (on the beach...)
sunglassesonthetable · 13/08/2023 14:47

Maybe Clive just made a bit of money selling the pics and story.

Fair play Clive. He's got front.

FinanceLPlates · 13/08/2023 14:47

I wonder if someone into beach birthing/water magic etc and potentially all the “Freeman of the land” stuff would also be categorically opposed to submitting a DNA sample to any kind of authority?
Sounds like Clive has done that now but I wonder if the long delay is due to some resistance out of principle (with the principle only being abandoned once the money ran out).

Testina · 13/08/2023 14:48

@PriamFarrl I’ve just answered above you post that the news agency source appears to be SNWS.

I did a single Google on “how to sell a news story” and the 5th link was the “talktothepress” one. Now I know from googling SNWS 5 minutes ago that they own that company!

The other Google hits above it look a bit more magazine-like.

Given Clive’s cooperation being quoted as being interviewed and SWNS having their personal photos, my guess is that Clive did exactly that Google search and sold his story.

Testina · 13/08/2023 14:50

Shall I email talktothepress and try to sell them this thread for the follow up? 🤣
We could afford MN biscuits all round!

Are you suggesting that Dave has the capability to use google search when he has the inclination to actually find some information out for himself?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/08/2023 14:52

I know people say having a baby is expensive, but this is definitely taking it to extremes!

sunglassesonthetable · 13/08/2023 14:54

I'm torn between

2 plums in a boat without a photocopied certificate between them. Playing out a fantasy 'freeman of the world' type thing.

and

Badly gone wrong attempt to make a bit of cash, doing a commercial surrogacy, selling a baby to US baby customer/traffickers.

But as they say, hear hooves look for horses ( not zebras ) and this man, apparently, drove the wrong way down a duel carriageway.

LadyHester · 13/08/2023 14:54

Great suggestion @Testina!
So that’s inclining me towards the numpty rather than drug dealer/child trafficker theory, and that the holes in the story are due more to Clive’s narrative ineptitude than anything else.
But is his name Gurzhii, Freeman, or Fitzpatrick?

RedToothBrush · 13/08/2023 15:02

Theres a Clive Gurzhii on the Electoral Roll in Fleetwood for 2018/2019.

Daddydog · 13/08/2023 15:03

AintNoPartyLikeANumber10Party · 13/08/2023 11:22

Both of these weirdos have so little online presence it’s clear they were not doing this for some SM content. In fact apart from the electoral record/192 Iuliia/Yuliia doesn’t appear to have a digital footprint. Which is a bit odd for a yoga teacher. I wonder how her clients find her?

Clive was a fitness instructor at a council type facility back in 2017.

Neither appears to be involved in a fitness company (search of companies house although I guess they might do something else? Or just be self employed?)

I wonder where their money came from and why it has now run out?

<super invested>

I also thought the same, being a yoga instructor and sports coach you would expect them to have a decent online presence. However I recon they had time to delete any trace of their accounts before the story they obviously fed to the press dropped, to not have them bombarded by people calling them out for their stupidity! The second reason is, her posts may not tally with the dates she claimed to travel when pregnant. Thirdly, I know a few self employeda PT/yoga Instructor types who aren't very honest with paying their taxes - and the publicity may make HMRC have a peek into their affairs if they are showing off a jet setting lavish lifestyle and not paying all their dues!

Testina · 13/08/2023 15:09

@LadyHester my belief on the names now is:

  • born Fitzpatrick (think a clever MNer found his birth certificate?) Also he’s Fitzpatrick in 2016 court case, which I guess is likely to have been brought in his legal name?
  • in 2015 he’s already using Gurzhii for some race events. I think that’s because he was banned for a year by the race authorities (unknown why) and is sneakily still entering races. After the court case he may also want to use Gurzhii because of the easily found conviction
  • in 2016 ish he uses Freeman. I’m bowing to another MNers view that this is in honour of him being a Freetwat of the Land. He’s already ditched his birth name, so another change is easy enough

What I don’t have a theory for, is whether David and Clive Fitzpatrick are one and the same and if so - why the first name change.

Abandoning Lisa Jewell for the moment and going more Jodi Piccoult though, I’m going to make David his twin brother, who later helped with a wee fertility issue. The delay in getting the DNA results is because Dave flew to Grenada, and when the Consul staff member wasn’t looking, Clive ran into the loo to switch places with identical-twin Dave for the test.

LadyHester · 13/08/2023 15:09

How easy is it to wipe your digital footprint completely? (Genuine question.) Especially if your general lifehandling expertise doesn’t run to distinguishing between single and dual-lane traffic (though are we 100% sure that’s our man?)

Testina · 13/08/2023 15:11

@sunglassesonthetable “2 plums in a boat”

ITV just called - can they use this for the docudrama title please?

Testina · 13/08/2023 15:18

@LadyHester absolutely certain the dangerous driver is him. The reporting of the court case explains that he was returning from a fell race and was tipped for the British team. There is lots online for Clive as a very successful fell runner - both as Fitzpatrick and Gurzhii, which is an unusual name! Not just names - clearly him in race photos. In addition, in the court case reporting he’s from Stalybridge - and 192 puts Clive Fitzpatrick and Iuliia Gurzhii in Stalybridge at that time.

sunglassesonthetable · 13/08/2023 15:19

Snort 🤦‍♀️🤣

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 13/08/2023 15:22

Have any of the sleuths on here done a birth certificate search for "David Clive Fitzpatrick" born on 1972/3? Maybe in Tameside.

My spideysenses think that Dave and Clive are the same man, also using the various surnames.
