Just after everyone's opinions. I'm on an all inclusive holiday . Nothing flash . European destination. Hot sunny . 3*. Would you feel offended if a female sunbathes topless at the pool? Just for context I have done , but put bikini top on to go in pool and her drinks . It's literally just going topless when laying on sunbed . More context age range is babies up to 70+ . Lots of different shapes and weights of people . Lots of bellies make and female and lots of big boobs on men. Like I say this is just for context . Just interested in people's opinions. I'm with my husband on holiday .

I wouldn't do it (I don't go on that type of holiday anyway) but I wouldn't judge someone who did. I'd probably be jealous of their body confidence if I'm being honest.

I do think it's out of fashion now though, I distinctly remember my mum sunbathing topless in the 80s and it seemed quite normal then but nobody was taking photos of everything and anything all the time then.

I don't agree that taking straps off would automatically resolve the tan lines - my bikini top is designed to actually support my brest when I'm active, so it covers a bit more than my daily bra and creates tan lines which are actually visible in my favourite tops.

I don't see it as inappropriate (unless illegal), and it sounds that if a bit more women did it, more would love to join, but doesn't want to be one of the very few.

I was only saying to my son in Portugal last month that you don’t see women sunbathe topless these days. My mum used to, I was a teen and embarrassed! I personally wouldn’t ever sunbathe topless but I wouldn’t be offended if I saw someone, just not something I’d do

Not only could someone take a photo, but they could take an unflattering photo. And that would be out there, in the wild, forever.

Exactly. Why sexualise breasts all the time . They are just part of me and I have no control over what other people think if I'm topless . The point of this thread was to enable a thought provoking discussion from all angles which it's done .

This is exactly why I wouldn’t go topless and don’t think it’s appropriate to do unless on a nudist beach.

You’ll never make breasts ‘normal’ because they will always been seen as a sexual object.

I wouldn’t like my young child to have posters of topless women in their room, so why would I want them to to ogle them in real life.

People (mostly men but also women) stare at my breasts all of the time. I often hear them commenting on them or saying how much they’d like to do me behind my back.
I know for a fact that these people (especially men) would do exactly the same if I were topless and probably worse and I don’t want to give anyone that opportunity to be getting off on my naked body.

Im a lesbian, I don’t notice or care if men look at me.

I would topless sunbathe anywhere it is culturally acceptable which I have found in lots of Europe.

I also sun bathe topless in England if I have something like a windbreak or a tent between me and the general population… not because I care just because a lot of people seem to!

Thank you for your comment . I was going to throw in a breast feeding comment to see if that's classed as sexualised ( obviously it's not) .

I wonder if my confidence has anything to do with it. I'm never going to see these people again and couldn't give two hoots what they think . They are breasts . Not being sexualised by being touched or kissed. Just there on my chest .
If people want to talk about how sexualised breasts are, when they are just there ,maybe they need to think about all the people with foot fetishes. They would have a field day here 😁

Breastfeeding is providing sustenance to a human baby and doesn't involve complete exposure.

The only place I have ever sunbathed topless was when we had a private roof terrace when I was on holiday with my mates in the 1990s. Obviously didn't want to give any of the groups of lads by the pool a free boob show. Why on earth would you want to do that? Just fucking weird.

When I've been on mixed group holidays, the lads have taken an interest in the boobs on display for all of about a few minutes then it is all normalised and forgotten. People say the same on nude beaches; there is a novelty at first but then its normalised and boring... in fact most people there attract no interest at all.
You're putting yourself on some pedestal and imagining everyone will be interested in looking at you for the entire holiday... they really won't.
Someone else put it quite well that men topless in the wring place attract looks/attention. But women and men topless in the right location attract little or no attention. Maybe you should try a nude beach and see how little interest you actually attract!

I don't know why anyone would want to go to a nudist area. It's bad enough seeing massive bellied skinny legged saggy hairy arsed old men parading around in tiny Speedos without seeing the budgies they are smuggling as well.
