I am, thanks to dh getting now TV for the cricket!

I think the BBC will be showing every match from Monday. Or at least every England match.

Anyone else watching?

We can't play like that and win...

Keira Austin has made the Aussies even more impressive.

No, I want them to win and I'm banned by my family from even checking the current score of events in which I am interested. When the women were playing France at Twickenham earlier this year we were winning 33-0 when I checked, thinking it had started an hour earlier. The final half was a real struggle apparently and we won by a narrow margin.

Metcalf having a difficult time of it. I think there will be a change soon.

About time Pitman came on!!

massistar · 06/08/2023 18:15

Doesn't feel like England can pull this back.

Oasis1975 · 06/08/2023 18:22

Keep believing!

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 18:29

Courtney Bruce for woman of the match for me.

Yep. England have lost the plot.

🙈

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 18:37

I didn't expect that goal difference.

Courtney Bruce was immense.

The England players should be so proud of themselves, though.

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 18:37

Australia deserved that.

fillerface · 06/08/2023 18:38

They're not number one for nothing are they! Yep well deserved

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 18:38

I feel so sorry for the Roses. But their netball unravelled.

needlesandhaystacks · 06/08/2023 18:39

So disappointed for the girls.
Well played Australia 👏🏻

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 18:40

Keira Austin for woman of the match. She deserves it.

So disappointed for the Roses but the better team won on the day.

SidekickSylvia · 06/08/2023 18:43

I'd nominate Cardwell for POM

massistar · 06/08/2023 18:43

The depth of that Aussie squad really showed today.

Eh? Must have watched a different match to me!

toastofthetown · 06/08/2023 18:54

Gutted for England, but still huge achievement to get that far, and the Aussies just looked inevitable.

Did I hear the commentary say at the start that the Aus/NZ teams were professional athletes, while England team work in other jobs alongside netball? I was in an out of the room and only part listening to the buildup.

massistar · 06/08/2023 18:55

A lot of the England players are also full time and play in Aus/NZ.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 18:58

Geva Mentor is one who plays in Australia, so the Aussies know her game well.

Yes, it's professional in Aus. Plenty of the Roses play in the SunCorp league.

But, if you stay in England, you probably have a job too. England netball are paying the players more, but it's not the same as the situation in Aus, by any stretch.

Layla Guscouth is a doctor!
