I think the BBC will be showing every match from Monday. Or at least every England match.

Heh.

The Netball World Cup has been going since the 1960s. It has always been won by NZ and Australia (though shared with Trinidad & Tobago one time) so maybe that's why lots of Brits don't know about it. Grin

The sport has been around since the late 1890s. </helpful Kiwi>

Should be an Olympic sport

it currently isn't due to lack of mens /boys access to the sport. INF sees it as strictly womens only, as does England Netball. The men have had to create their own NA.

Me me me.

One if the team taught my DD. We still refer to get as Miss ….

We wanted to go and watch bug just no way to get tickets.

Are you in CT?

The ticket prices are quite steep. Imo not affordable for many . I'm sure there must be some reason for this pricing, but also meant there were a lot of empty seats.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 01/08/2023 16:29

No I’m not but were willing to travel but there were no packages.

unicornjewels · 01/08/2023 20:36

Loving it!!

Panicmode1 · 01/08/2023 20:38

I'm gutted that I can't watch. Am in France so can't get BBC or SkySports YouTube, and the WiFi isn't good enough to get a netball pass. My team are messaging me the qtr scores when England play so I'm keeping up (a bit)!

tobee · 01/08/2023 22:26

Yes!!

PurpleButterflyWings · 01/08/2023 22:30

Nope!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 02/08/2023 06:49

Watched England for first time tonight with dd1.
Thursday will be a bigger test of course!

VestaTilley · 02/08/2023 07:00

BIL and his wife are; she plays locally and follows it.

Should be an Olympic sport

I thought it was due to the fact that it's not played in enough countries.. mainly commonwealth countries so no US, China etc. They should have used London to introduce it.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 02/08/2023 12:10

That’s my understanding @massistar

I mean how many countries play beach volleyball?

GrouchyKiwi · 02/08/2023 17:28

Fantastic game on iPlayer right now - South Africa v NZ. SA defence has the NZ attackers struggling.

tableanadchairs · 02/08/2023 17:50

Not a chance

massistar · 02/08/2023 20:06

Wowsers. That ZA v NZ game was something else!!! Was willing ZA on !

GrouchyKiwi · 02/08/2023 20:14

I can't believe it ended in a draw! Fantastic stuff. The crowd was amazing.

NoraLuka · 02/08/2023 20:18

I didn’t even realise netball was played outside schools 😳

I absolutely hated it at school but I’m going to try watching the World Cup and change my mind!

This thread should have a spoiler alert! All set for 0800 in the morning! They are going to need to be on the Aussies from the off.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 02/08/2023 20:25

Fabulous match

Ah, soz, it's on the front page of the BBC so I didn't even think about it. Will be more careful in future. Smile

JuneOsborne · 03/08/2023 08:02

I'm ready! Come on roses!

Really good start!

A couple of big matches this morning. NZ basically in a must-win against Jamaica, which is going to be a difficult contest.

JuneOsborne · 03/08/2023 08:27

What a goal with a second to go!
