I think the BBC will be showing every match from Monday. Or at least every England match.

Anyone else watching?

Umpires missing quite a lot of contact from the Jamaican defence.

massistar · 06/08/2023 16:17

Jamaica look like they want it more? Their defence is awesome. NZ really struggling to get it into the circle.

Agree. NZ just looks tired. I'm not used to seeing our team like this! They're usually so strong and fast.

Jamaica deserves it.

Will see if NZ can pull it back this quarter, but I do think Jamaica will pull away even more.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 16:31

Beckford is playing brilliantly today.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 16:39

At least it wasn't as big a margin as in the previous meeting.

Jamaica is fantastic. It's so good for international netball to have more teams capable of competing for the big prizes. It's always been NZ and Australia; now we can add Jamaica and England, and I hope it stays that way.

South Africa is getting stronger too.

massistar · 06/08/2023 16:40

Well deserved Jamaica. On to the big one now!

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 16:43

Oh, Ekinasio. So hard to see her cry.

Settling in for the build up! Come on England!

Right, all ready for this. Loved that little look back on Mentor. As a defender, I've always been inspired by her. Hope she gets to end her last international match on a high!

massistar · 06/08/2023 16:58

Metcalf the only weak link in that starting lineup for me. I don't think she had a great game v NZ.

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 16:58

I hope Eboni Usoro-Brown is commentating, I really enjoy her take on the games.

Yes I agree. I feel she's not been getting into space/free as much as Pitman does.

massistar · 06/08/2023 17:01

I'm a WA and my kids were taking the piss when I was criticising her. 🤣🤣🤣

😆 I know! Like we could do any better!!

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 17:04

But Chelsea Pitman is fresh, so any wing trouble is sorted!

massistar · 06/08/2023 17:05

True @JuneOsborne !

It's amazing how many games they play in such a short space of time.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 17:06

Heh, I played WD at school but I was impressed by Heffernan today so no comments required.

I filled in for a friend as GS later on when I played soccer (this was NZ) instead.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 17:08

My call: Australia will take it by two.

Sorry, England fans, but they'll not want a repeat of their earlier loss.

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 17:20

Ooof. This is clinical from Aus.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 17:24

My big takeaway from this world cup is how quickly things change. Looked like Aussie was well on top of things, then a few mistakes have ceased their momentum a bit. I love that.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 17:38

Lots of shoving in this match.

needlesandhaystacks · 06/08/2023 17:43

England need a change in WA.

JuneOsborne · 06/08/2023 17:48

Our attacking isn't working.

OP posts:
massistar · 06/08/2023 17:51

Get Pitman on. Metcalf too static.

GrouchyKiwi · 06/08/2023 18:02

Ashley Brazill is really difficult to play against, I think. She's such a grafter and so disruptive.
