DS and his mates have a Sean Bean Says Bastard drinking game - Sharpe boxset and everyone slams when they hear the magic word ... Very messy indeed.

Imsureitsprobablymebut · 20/07/2023 10:56

Is that you Colin ?

AgnesX · 20/07/2023 10:58

He's not done Sharpe kind of stuff for donkey's.... (cor 🥴)

ErrolTheDragon · 20/07/2023 11:01

A while ago, we watched a nice little series of 'Yorkshire wildlife through the seasons', narrated by SB. At various points in the autumn episode, when animals were preparing for the cold or migrating or whatever, if it had been anyone else they surely would have said "Winter is coming"... somehow they managed not to.

AutumnCrow · 20/07/2023 11:04

So he has been Shaun Bean but prefers to be seen as being Sean Bean?

I have that clip I my YouTube favourites. That eyebrow lift😍

Mind you, I am a Sheffield lass so just a bit biased!

Owl or Blade?

Laiste · 20/07/2023 11:26

@WestwardHo1 The bast'ad clip is so funny 😂 Haven't seen it for ages. I think there's one around where half way through they loose the rest of the sentence and just cut in him simply saying the word bast'ad bast'ad bast'ad in all his different outfits and it's relentless and hilarious 😂

I notice it's mostly Sharpe bast'ad ing away. God he was lovely wasn't he! 😍

Very fine actor but not great at changing his accent is he? Very fine accent though!

Quite so.
Many actors use their own accents all the time, it just doesn't get any comment if it's 'southern English' (not 'east end' or rural ... whatever replaced RP or 'bbc English' this century)

Happiest memories watching Sharpe with my dad as kid

Same! And endless discussions about if a howitzer would be better than canon... Drive my mum mad!

Owl or Blade?

Well seeing it's a Sean Bean topic 25% Blade, and 75% Henderson's Relish😄

Sean Bean was tremendous in that series where he played a transvestite and Stephen Graham was his boyfriend. It seems to have been forgotten about. I also liked him in the drama about a priest. Also recently he showed vulnerability and sensitivity in Marriage with Nicola Walker. He is very varied and a very clever actor. He doesn’t always play tough guy roles. The only thing I’ve not seen him do is comedy although I could be wrong.

Does this cameo count?I If not, it's worth watching to hear him say "C'mon lass" (aka Sheffield blokes foreplay😄)

Sharpe was great. Well worth re-watching. The books are good as well.

He plays an excellent death scene

I expect someone has done a compilation of Sean Bean's many deaths, but I wouldn't want to watch it.

My favourite Sean character was his the scot/Russian in hunt for Red October beats his .Scots/irish/American in the untouchables.

We never talk about Highlander it was an abomination😄

Wouldyouguess · 20/07/2023 18:59

He found his niche, he is good at the characters he plays and he picks good projects, or has a good agent so, not too bad considering many amazing actors have 5 IMDB credits to their name if even that.

Vicliz24 · 20/07/2023 19:16

I adore Seen Bean as we call him . I remember going to the LOTR exhibition in London and even falling I. Love with the model of Boromir they'd made for his after death scene where he goes over the waterfall in his canoe . It was so perfect just like him .
