To ask what the rudest thing your child has said to you in a melt down?

Tonight my very hormonal, 12 year old, pre teen told me to “shove off” when I made a joke about her playing with Lego instead of tidying her room. Quickly followed up with “you ruin everything”. It took me back a bit to be honest. It was completely out of character. It got me wondering 2 things:

  1. is this normal teenage behaviour? Or is my child suddenly going off the rails?

  2. what’s the worst thing your child has said in a rage.

My oldest son said you have ruined my day by doing that so I am going to make sure your day is horrible....I totally walked through him.

Trinity69 · 17/07/2023 19:30

My son has ASD/PDA as well as ADHD and Tourette’s. He’s 14 and I regularly get told to fuck off and apparently I’m a cunt. Who knew.

unlikelychump · 17/07/2023 19:31

My son called his father an old prune today 😮😄

Harry Potter fan?

"Dry up Dursley you great prune".

Nothing else to add to the thread as DS is only 7 months old Grin

CurlewKate · 17/07/2023 19:33

My dd said "Back off, old woman, your time has past!!"

Do I win??

legalseagull · 17/07/2023 19:34

I get "you're a baboon head" on the regular. Kids are 4 and 5

Smoky1107 · 17/07/2023 19:36

That I was an inconsiderate bitch 😂

100Roses · 17/07/2023 19:36

My DD15 has asd/adhd, anxiety, ocd and a demand avoidant profile, am often told to fuck off, kill myself and that I’m a fat cunt. Unfortunately she hears this sort of stuff at school and after suppressing it all day it comes out in a barrage of tic like echolalia speech.

alittleadvicepls · 17/07/2023 19:38

“You never let me do anything”- DS 6, screaming at the top of the stairs after being told to go clean his room 🙄

Same in my house. Do you ignore it or what?

He comes out with all the worst swear words in the world. 😢

queenofthewild · 17/07/2023 19:41

"Where's mummy? Is she dead?"

Followed with a look of disappointment when I walked into the room.

AutumnalPumpkin · 17/07/2023 19:42

From my then 3 year old... (Whilst holding her magic wand) I got "magic-adabra... make mommy cry". I did indeed cry. It worked 🤣🥲

LizzieSiddal · 17/07/2023 19:43

My 13 year old DD told me to Fuck Off as she stormed off to her bedroom when I said she couldn’t stay out until 12 o’clock at someone’s house if never met.

Like your dd it was very out of character. I managed to stay calm, decided to let her calm down too. Went up to her room 15 mins later and had a chat saying if she ever spoke to me like that again, there would be dire consequences. She never did, thank god!

Tempone · 17/07/2023 19:43

Everything under the sun. My eldest has ASD PDA etc, so the usual fat cunt etc . He had run out of insults one day and called me a fucking milf... I have never told him what it means 🤣

wizzbitt · 17/07/2023 19:44

My 5 year old DD tells me that she will kill me when in meltdown mode. She also has ASC but I'm not convinced that's the reason 🤦🏿‍♀️😂
It's DP's birthday today and she drew a picture of both of us. When asked what we were doing she explained I was "kicking Dada in the butt". 😂🫣 For full disclosure our house is a butt kicking free zone. I am considering framing it.

2thumbs · 17/07/2023 19:46

When he was 3, DS called me ‘foolish and deluded’, which I didn’t see coming!

dullandgrey · 17/07/2023 19:49

My 3yo said 'I don't like you' for the first time. Had to swallow the little lump in my throat Blush

When our DD was younger (and a big Potter fan) she had several play wands and thought it hillarious to point them at her Dad and say “Avada Kedavra!” He would sometimes play dead for extra effect. Great until she was a flower girl at her Aunties wedding and given a flower wand. I spent all my time telling her under no circumstances could she use the killing curse on the bride and groom during the ceremony.

My 5 year old (suspected ASD/ADHD) usually says I'm fat, no one likes me and one time, after making me cry said go on cry, no one cares, he also called me a shit mum 😭

I'm sorry, it must be so difficult, but that actually made me choke on my tea.

izzy2076 · 17/07/2023 19:58

'You're fifty. You don't exist any more' from my 12 year old dd.

ZaZathecat · 17/07/2023 19:59

'I hate you' Pretty standard really. He doesn't 🙂

Haha don't worry it's very funny 😁

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 17/07/2023 20:01

12 year old asd "F off. I hate you." He doesn't.

7 year old "you're a crazy old cat lady." I'm 31. 😂

Gerrataere · 17/07/2023 20:02

I’m going to be that parent, ‘meltdown’ is really not a term to be thrown around copiously. I’m not assuming your child doesn’t have additional needs op, but as can already be seen in this thread, a teenage strop and an ASD meltdown are really quite different things.
