I’ve felt completely wiped out for three days now, no energy at all, headaches, body aches. I’ve done nothing but rest but it doesn’t seem to be easing at all. Anyone else had the same recently?

Covid?

SiobahnRoy · 02/07/2023 09:33

Covid

C1239 · 02/07/2023 09:34

I did test and it was negative

Gloschick · 02/07/2023 09:36

Took until day 4 to test positive with my last infection. So it could still be covid.

Hoppingmad231 · 02/07/2023 10:19

I feel like this not overly sick just run down tierd aching thought it was because I've had a busy week, but also took covid test just incase which was negative.

Nordicrain · 02/07/2023 10:21

I feel like post covide people forget other viruses circulate regularly. Sounds like pretty typical virus symptoms to me.

Createausername1970 · 02/07/2023 10:24

I don't normally get hay fever, but I have had scratchy throat, bunged up nose and itchy eyes for a couple of days and I feel generally unwell. I am told pollen is high at the moment but friends who seem to know about these things. So I am putting it down to an out of character reaction.

Hadn't thought of COVID.

Thatmusthavehurt · 02/07/2023 10:24

Us too! You have my HUGE sympathies! Two of us flattened so far,and going round DD's school. Not Covid. Dreadful hacking cough too.

JennyTheDonkey · 02/07/2023 10:27

Keep testing, like pp said I've heard quite a few people have these symptoms and only test positive after 4/5 days...me included.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 10:34

I don’t think it can be hayfever, I’m not sure that can make you feel completely wiped out? Thursday I was feeling poorly like nauseous , achy, etc non working day Friday and I’ve barely moved since just felt absolutely floored, it’s weird hard to describe. So tired. Concerned about work next week feeling like this

Hayfever can very much make you feel wiped out. When you have a reaction to pollen your immune system goes into over drive releasing histamine to try to combat the pollen. That's without the hay fever symptoms which can be very debilitating.

My hayfever was bad on Friday, itchy watery eyes, itchy, snotty, sneezy nose, itchy throat. I felt exhausted by the constant sneezing and itching and just wanted to lie down.

I ended up taking some flexi time and logging off work early as I felt so wiped out and couldn't think straight.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 10:53

For those of you feeling unwell are you trying to rest up or just cracking on with it? I’m rubbish at resting just feel guilty but have zero energy to do anything. Feeling pretty sorry for myself!

I've no choice but to get on with it single mum, need togo shopping for packed lunch stuff come home iron school/work uniforms, tidying up will probably wait and certainly not making a roast probably be pizza or something easy for tea, hoping am not this tierd in work tomorrow.

PrueRamsay · 02/07/2023 11:13

Me too.

Nauseous, dreadful headache, runny nose, sore throat.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 11:15

How long has everyone had it for? I’ve taken paracetamol but that’s doing nothing, drinking honey and lemon, resting… still feel the same 😟

MumblesParty · 02/07/2023 11:16

It’s a virus. They don’t all have names.

WunWun · 02/07/2023 11:17

Sounds like every virus

mommatoone · 02/07/2023 11:21

I had this last week OP. Just totally wiped out, lack of appetite, acing all over. Tbh i just rested, because i physicallycouldnt do anything else!

Em3978 · 02/07/2023 11:29

I've had the same, on top of the horrific hayfever i've had this week. Headache, nausea, all over aches, sore throat. 3 covid tests over 5 days all negative, but feels like covid.

ugh

MintJulia · 02/07/2023 11:30

I had the same plus a vaguely sore throat in May. I tested for Covid and it was negative but then I lost my sense of taste.

I parkrun and the first week back after feeling better, my time was SIX minutes slower than normal. Now in July, I'm getting back to normal but it's taking a long time.

This may not be Covid but it's nasty & very tiring.

BravoMyDear · 02/07/2023 11:33

I felt like this for about 5 days then woke up in agony last Sunday and couldn’t move my head. Turned out I had really bad tonsillitis and an ear infection on top! 5 days of ABs and I’m fine 😊

Rest up - you body recovers through sleep which is why we get so tired when poorly.

Take the medicines to fight whatever your symptoms are. Help your body fight the infection, rest and drinks lots of water. Best way to be back on your feet as quickly as you can.

Fighting through will take you longer to recover, because you'll be exhausted.

Pancake678 · 02/07/2023 11:35

I had this. It had all the symptoms of Covid. I tested negative as well. It went to my sinuses and I lost my taste and smell. It took me 3 weeks before I could manage without taking paracetamol everyday.

Grimbelina · 02/07/2023 11:37

I only tested positive on day 7 the last time I had Covid.... I was told by a GP that it was relatively common. Also had family members all with the same symptoms recently, one tested positive and the children never did so don't discount it.

Tinysoxx · 02/07/2023 12:16

Test for covid again.
Have you got any bulls-eye rashes on you that could have been caused by an undiscovered tick?
There's no chance you could have left a tampon in?
Check your temperature and oxygen levels just in case.
Have you got a carbon monoxide detector? Any chance of carbon monoxide poisoning?

Thats all I can think of.
Other than that I would just rest. I find Lemsips are better than paracetamol I find as they have decongestants in too and seem to pick me up more.
