I’ve felt completely wiped out for three days now, no energy at all, headaches, body aches. I’ve done nothing but rest but it doesn’t seem to be easing at all. Anyone else had the same recently?

Have you been sick? Lots of sickness bugs at my school...even the staff!! 🤮

travelmad · 02/07/2023 13:08

Ive had this over the last few days. I've given in and got taxis to where I needed to go as I felt too much at risk to drive safely. I keep falling asleep every time I sit on the sofa, have headaches, confusion, and have been shaky. It's starting to ease a bit but have had a pretty rough few days.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 13:14

When will it start to get better?! Not sure what to do about work tomorrow if I’m feeling like this still , just feel like my body needs rest but work is so busy so I can’t afford not to be there

Yup all 4 of us here had that and all covid tests negative we still test due to having vulnerable children. Lasted 4 days wiped out, ages, dizzyness to the point of being sick a couple times and then poof gone again

C1239 · 02/07/2023 14:01

Did it just go with time after resting @Sprinkles211 ? I’m rubbish at being under the weather, get really impatient!

Almost certainly covid.

And people I know who get hayfever say that if they have covid anywhere near their hayfever season, it makes their symptoms enormously worse.

UncleRadley · 02/07/2023 14:07

Covid, or novid with a negative test! I don't think the tests pick up the latest strains, but lack of taste seems to be a bit of a giveaway. Not that it really matters as it's just another virus in the mix now though.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 16:24

How’s everyone feeling? Another day of rest and I still feel the same 😟

I had this - had to take 3 days off work it floored me, worse than flu I had. I was vomiting, awful sore throat and cough the cough is still lingering now 2 weeks later

C1239 · 02/07/2023 16:37

I’ve started to feel really nauseous this afternoon, how can it come on 3 days into feeling unwell?! I always seem to get unwell at the worst possible times with work

C1239 · 02/07/2023 16:38

Your symptoms sound horrible @travelmad , did you take time off work?

No I didn't (just because I wasn't due to be working), however on the first day of it starting I left work an hour early which I've since put down to the start of the confusion. In my head it was the end of the working day so I went home - only to find out it wasn't and I'd left work an hour before I was supposed to. I stopped driving after that as I'd worried myself what I was doing.

Upsizer · 02/07/2023 16:51

Current covid variants are not always detected on UK tests - we haven’t updated our tests, unlike other countries. I’ve had friends testing positive abroad on tests they have bought there but negative on UK tests. Worth knowing!

pre-covid I never had a virus that gave me flu symptoms: only infections (bacterial).

georgarina · 02/07/2023 16:55

Honestly kind of relieved something is going around bc I'd been thinking I was having the start of an ME relapse

TrexTeeth · 02/07/2023 16:56

I've had headaches and can't stop weeing.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 16:56

It’s the fatigue that is strange isn’t it @georgarina , whatever it is has completely wiped me out.

Yants · 02/07/2023 17:00

I had very similar a few weeks back that lasted around 4-5 weeks before I started to feel better, tested negative for covid but I still suspect it was.

Shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, brain fog and very bad joint and muscle pain.

WhimHoff · 02/07/2023 17:02

I’ve had it for a month! I do have an auto immune condition but a month of my life for a bloody virus 😭

Blackandwhitehorse · 02/07/2023 17:04

Yes I tested twice for covid and it was negative but I think it may have been another variant, it’s like nothing I’ve had before it keeps mutating!

on the third and fourth night I just woke up at 4am and vomited.

Bixs · 02/07/2023 17:04

Why is everyone so convinced every cold of flue like symptoms are covid? It’s getting really boring now
There are many, many other bugs that can wipe you out and make you feel like shit.

C1239 · 02/07/2023 17:07

For those of you who had it for so long, what did you do?! About work kids etc!?

The chances of any two people in this thread of having the exact same virus are very low.

Well in my case it certainly didn't feel like a typical cold, it didn't really feel like typical covid symptoms either really, no coughing at all, just shortness of breath.

It was the brain fog that I found most unsettling, I'm normally very switched on and a bit of a control freak but it was like my brain had just turned to mush, even the simplest of tasks required huge levels of concentration and mental exertion.
Multiple times a day I was spending 30 minutes or more looking for something only to eventually realise it was right in front of my eyes all along, usually in the first place I'd looked, it was a worrying taste of what dementia must be like.

Poppasocks · 02/07/2023 17:30

I had it a couple of weeks ago and was really poorly for a good few days. High temp I couldn't shake, body aches, blocked ear, dry lips etc.

We had just come back from Butlins so I assumed it was germs from there!

I don't agree - when a virus is doing the rounds, lots of people will go down with the same thing in a short space of time.
