Listening to this ridiculous teacher today bullying two students, isn't it time that we started holding teachers responsible for indoctrinating children into thinking they can identify as anything they feel like?

How did we get to this point where kids are so afraid to speak up because of being bullied by classmates or even by teachers?

YABU - I identify as a cat
YANBU - teachers should face the legal consequences for encouraging children to identify out of their biological sex.

In 50 years time, we will look back on transphobia in shame, the way we now look back on homophobia.

Teacher need immediate government guidance to protect them from villification.

In 50 years time we will look back in horror at the homophobia of the trans movement that transed away the gay and destroyed children's bodies and future fertility. It will be seen in the same light as lobotomies.

Sillybanana · 18/06/2023 21:32

absolutely shocking...what a horrible, bullying teacher. I would be absolutely livid if this was at my kid’s school.

brunettemic · 18/06/2023 21:48

As long it’s we can hold the parents of said kids legally responsible too then why not.

Well done girls. The teacher is the confused one, saying you must be homophobic if you believe there are only 2 genders.

The teacher IMO, apart from anything else, sounded worryingly dim!

It's now been reported on in The Telegraph

So when teaching these materials - what are teachers doing in these examples and how are they getting away with it? I do understand that having guidance from the government is important but surely there's common sense, factual reality and responsibility to not confuse or pressure children? What is the individual teacher's responsibility then?

I wouldn’t mind them teaching about anal sex as long as they were honest about the potential for health complications. Young girls are getting pressurised into anal sex off the back of widespread porn use and I expect they have no idea about the long term implications.

A girl I know ended up with anal injuries because the boy said it was safer than vaginal sex for getting pregnant. It was not pleasurable for her and it's something that should only be done with great caution. How it's become so normalised as a pressure for young girls is absolutely insanity. See also choking.

But that aside, there's obviously are wide variance in materials being taught. Where are the materials coming from and do the teachers who are teaching them - as in some of the more extreme examples in the article below, not have brain cells whereby they understand that you cannot change biological sex and that certain topics need to be sensitively handled? We can't blame the government for individual teacher's responsibilities - who does the buck stop with?

“Getting away with it”
I didn’t find anything wrong with the actual materials shown in the article. The claims in the text that teachers are saying you can change your biological sex are not stated in any of the photos of the educational material.

I know that alongside it they do teach children that age of consent for sex is 16. I do think it is important for age 12+ to know what sex is and how it’s not just penis in vagina- they need to know about sex before they turn 16. I don’t think educating is necessarily encouraging underage sex.

Your questions says:
YABU - I identify as a cat
YANBU - teachers should face the legal consequences for encouraging children to identify out of their biological sex.

Therefore if you want teachers to face legal action parents who do it should also face it. If it’s wrong for one group of people it’s wrong for all groups of people.

@brunettemic

So many parents are unwittingly helping this along by listening to their kids regurgitating threats from the internet though. Teachers however have to follow safeguarding. And they are expected to have basic knowledge on biology.

I’m sorry but it starts at home, nothing you’ve responded with doesn’t mean the parents take responsibility.

@brunettemic I personally agree that there are entitled parent Transactivists pushing this on their children.

However many parents are terrified of the narrative put forth by Mermaids that their children will kill themselves if they don't take puberty blockers and have radical amputations.

It's an all round shit show.

To amend that I don't think all parents are responsible in the same way I don't think all teachers are.

I'm specifically talking about Catgender teacher activist teacher types as in the original link.

Gender dysphoria is real, however surely a thoughtful and cautious approach should be taken. It's a serious condition if the solutions include:

Puberty blockers which can have side effects that include osteoporosis.

The amputation of healthy body parts
and then the subsequent care required to allow the body to heal from having breasts or penises removed.

The constructing of prosthetics on to the genitals - again with the maintenance aspects for caring of wounds and risks of infections.

The mental health of the young person involved - which if what we are being told is true, means they are very vulnerable.

All too often we are now seeing kids jumping on the bandwagon and Dec falling themselves trans or non binary only to switch again later on. Amongst my kids peer groups - there are several girls who are doing this.

All of this shouldn't be confused by having a teacher shouting that a child can identify as a cat.

I can't believe I'm writing this in 2023.
