I've been on Mumsnet for around 10 years now, I have read some crazy threads.

I'm lying in bed hungover and looking for some stories to brighten up my shameful Saturday afternoon.

If anyone wants to share it would be greatly appreciated Grin

OP posts:

That shitmags thread is the gift that keeps on giving. Why was every single one of those Daily Sport excerpts someone from Crewe? Is it code for "we made it up" or do they drive to Crewe and ask everyone in the Jobcentre queue if they want £5 to put their face/name to a ridiculous article?

Vague recollections of a mum complaining that her ex had fed the dC a packed lunch of cold stewed badge on a trip to a museum. Probably bollocks but so funny.

And a poster asked if it was the sett menu 😂

Bluemooni · 18/06/2023 14:56

Does anyone remember a woo thread at least ten years ago whereby there were strange noises in the upstairs of the OP’s office building? And other weird happenings. She’d just moved in and the previous company had upped and left abruptly. I think another local MN’er also came to inspect the building? Could have been a troll but it had me on tenterhooks for a while!

LucyLongbody · 18/06/2023 15:42

I remember that @Bluemooni I'm sure it was a troll. Highly entertaining tho.

SeahorsesRock · 18/06/2023 17:57

I love the threads where people earn 6 figures and moan about not being entitled to benefits..

Panteranoir · 18/06/2023 18:34

Rapist dolphins was the one the jumped to the forefront of my mind. Positively barmy

Mulhollandmagoo · 18/06/2023 18:50

I have just read this one..... absolutely brilliant!! The OP was so funny 🤣

cassiatwenty · 18/06/2023 19:07

@Rogue1001MNer Will you ever start some sort of AMA thread? 🙋‍♀️

DidYouFindYourCrumpetHoles · 18/06/2023 19:18

The bonkers OP who kept popping up last year who was OBSESSED with her local M&S which she visited daily. Steak cut chips, stalking the manager and begrudging the poor student lad who got a job there because she got turned down for the role.

Would love to read those threads again but I think they were deleted? Grin

NannyGythaOgg · 18/06/2023 19:18

Birdy the possessed badge that kept fortelling the future

deleted though

Maireas · 18/06/2023 19:20

Yes, the Birdy thing started well, but the OP over egged it.
The scaffolders one ran to four threads. Loads of other "rude builder" stories. In that vein is the current Handyman Stole My Nightie.

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 18/06/2023 19:22

Just watching spy in the sea on bbc1. Pmsl at the dolphins playing with the whales. Evil, rapey bastards 😎😂

gettingolderbutcooler · 18/06/2023 19:23

Oh god that thread just got funnier and funnier 🤣

cassiatwenty · 18/06/2023 19:25

Christ, gang rape dolphins. I knew they were intelligent but this is beyond😹

Gridhopper · 18/06/2023 19:27

@NannyGythaOgg but birdie friend predicted the pandemic!! Was it just a coincidence? I know I sound nuts but I found it really chilling 😂

Anotherconfession · 18/06/2023 19:29

I loved the fatball one, I literally was crying with laughter.

My favourite was not because the OP was crazy but because her so called mum friend was. I can't remember the thread name. But essentially a single mother was accused of having an affair with her 'school mum's friend husband, as the school mum had sent a bitchy message about the Op by accident to the Op.

The so called mum friend got crazier and crazier in an attempt to justify the miss sent text. It was madness!

gettingolderbutcooler · 18/06/2023 19:49

@Zebedee55
Oh god that's so funny.

"You've just had sex so I assume you are on fairly intimate terms. Even if you have an acid fanjo and his sperm is nine tenths itching powder, surely you can use the bathroom at the same time? You can wash your fanjo in the bath and he can scrub his cock in the sink."

FancyFran · 18/06/2023 19:53

Not weird but funny, the man who got steaming drunk and. I pooped in his special socks, in classics I think.
The Christmas 2021 thread where the OP was sacking all the staff (tongue in cheek).
The landlord who thought it was OK to let a mouldy house and was going to whack them some cash to bugger off before environmental health were called in (recent).
I remember the hedge one as we had something similar.
However working in beauty I laughed my socks off re the 'anal bleaching'.
When Hollywood waxes were fashionable we would charge danger money. You never know when you would get 'snapped and farted' ! £70 for a full off jobby and that was 25 years ago!

PrivateMolecule0 · 18/06/2023 20:03

defo the one about daft/varied reasons for finishing with your BF/GF

Noleafclover1 · 18/06/2023 20:12

Does anyone remember the 'Mumsnet cliche' one?

Someone stopped at a service station and realised she was a Mumsnet cliche with her skinny latte and her Seasalt cardie (or similar). Mostly lighthearted tongue in cheek replies but a few who took the humblebrag to new levels...

Not a full funny thread but if you are here - I'm still laughing

The OP had a slightly annoying husband who's hobby was some kind of bird watching .. he was always on the lookout for something I've forgotten .. for some peace and quiet one weekend she told him she'd glimpsed one quite far away .. off he went while she relaxed in full silence mode 😂

Obviously she hadn't ..

I remember that she was told she was abusive and someone said it was funny and was told if it was a woman posting her husband had done that to her everyone would be advising she call women’s aid or something. Mind you that’s almost every thread so I could be confusing it with some other thread!

iamnottoofatiamjusttooshort · 18/06/2023 20:42

I think you are correct @Bluecapredcap

Some of these have been brilliant , really made me laugh this weekend so thanks OP
