I've been on Mumsnet for around 10 years now, I have read some crazy threads.

I'm lying in bed hungover and looking for some stories to brighten up my shameful Saturday afternoon.

If anyone wants to share it would be greatly appreciated Grin

Was there ever an update on the thread where someone make an older lady pick up dog poo and then found out it was the woman’s own field? The op was worried she was going to become a pariah in the local village?

Oh, yes, that one was insane. I really felt sorry for the older woman; OP was hot on the 'it was all a big misunderstanding', but she behaved appallingly aggressively towards her.

OP was painting herself as the victim, and the old lady as being petty and unreasonable, where it was obvious to everybody else that she'd been terrified and was desperately trying to keep herself safe from this deeply unpleasant onslaught.

Even after scaring the poor woman out of her wits - who had no way of knowing that OP couldn't/wouldn't turn physically violent after completely publicly humiliating her - her only concern was "How can we get the fence taken down again and have 'our' field back?" Breathtaking brass-neck.

Yes that was it. Never did find out if it was a man or a woman either.
Oh no we’ve raked it all up again.

I have just remembered a thread where a woman started an AIBU to say no one not in work should be allowed to shop on Saturdays

That's every retired person, anyone on benefits or any SAHP. Madness.

Oh dear. What was her reasoning?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 23/06/2023 22:51

"They" - the undesirable, have plenty of other time to shop, and as a taxpayer and a proper member of society she should get preferential treatment.

I have just spent 10 minutes roaring with laughter over Sharon & the wasp (and truffles, Adam, rainbow and the list goes on...!)

I love that thread - I’ve not read it in a while but some of the classic lines:

op: Adam was confused on fruit and veg”
mumsnetter “Adam isn’t the only one!”

OP: Bagda said ….
mumsnetter “to be fair, when has Bagda ever not been spot on really?”

😂
