Is this a mumsnet massive salad?

Is it massive enough? How many weeks will this feed my family for I need to know!!

Ergh sorry I misread. My massive salad was in the way of my phone and I am delirious from all the carbs.

As an adult woman, that is far too much food. That would feed me for at least a week. Although I do have the appetite of a tiny tiny bird

If you are in fact a strapping 6ft teenage boy, then no. That's a teeny tiny salad and I hope you padded it out with at least 6 bowls of Cereal, an entire packet of pasta and 2 roast chicken.

I suspect an actual massive salad is just a couple of leaves with some sad carrot chunks

The flavour combos are all wrong in that salad. It is making me a bit queasy too.

I wouldn't call that massive as it includes the proteins too. The eggs, chicken(?), hummus, potato and any coleslaw would be sides to go with my massive salad. I

That’s not a salad! It’s a heavy meal. Too many flavours and the textures/tastes would be mangled. It’s a no from me.

My salad-
mixed leaves, loads.
choped up
red onion, cucumber, charred tender stem broccoli, cooled. cherry toms, black olives, avocado, fresh basil, shredded red cabbage and grated carrot, mandolined radishes, You could add one of these-
roasted shredded chicken
tofu
tuna
Serve with a miso vinegarette. Massage the red cabbage with olive oil and lemon juice before hand.

Heaven So light and fresh.

I thought this one was a serious post until I got to the “massage the red cabbage…” bit 😂 And then, tbf, the “Heaven So light and fresh” was definitely a satirical step too far as well 😁

That is not a 'heavy meal'.

It is a perfectly reasonable lunch which should stave off hunger until dinner.

I would still need a pudding though. Pack of refreshers or pain au raisin should complement the salad nicely.

Never mind the hate or not for Mayo it should be salad cream, that's what you put on salad! Why all the hate for Mushrooms. What have they done to you miserable lot!!!???

I would say I’d had a big salad and something with it to fill me up. Protein probably. Two different kinds perhaps.

Those eggs look banging. I made a big tub of egg mayo last night, using farm eggs that have such a dark yolk and are loads cheaper than supermarket ones, lots of salt and pepper. I've been eating it with a spoon 😱

I like mushrooms but not on a,salad,on a breakfast fine .
Or garlic. Mushrooms

Do they still make Refreshers? I've not had them since I was a child. Decades ago.

I saw a "potato salad" recipe recently that was actually chickpeas in something that looked like mayo but probably wasn't. No potatoes at all!

Is that chicken next to the mushrooms? I always feel weird about eating chickens and eggs at the same time. It seems ghoulish somehow.

Apparently the title of the Paul Simon song, Mother and Child Reunion, was inspired by him seeing a chicken omelette called this in a Chinese restaurant.
