What's with the mushroom hate on this thread? totally missing the point they go with everything!! yeh maybe a bit too much TS you don't want to be seen as being a greedy so so, what if your mum friend from school saw it?

There is just no way I could eat all of that- hummus, and eggs, and chicken, and potato in mayo, and garlic mushrooms.

Hell, no.

Have you not got any strapping, 6 foot teenage sons who could help you?

Teenagequeenwithaloadedgun · 02/06/2023 13:12

I couldn't possibly eat all that, those salad leaves are pure sugar.

Also, because it's important to me that a bunch of internet strangers that I'll never meet know how slim I am, I need to mention that it's a full day's food for me because I am teeny tiny. Thanks.

Lots of leave under the eggs!

Salad contains :

Mixed leaves
red peppers
tomatoes
cucumber
mangetout
celery
garlic mushrooms
new potato in lemon mayo
hummus
chicken
egg

That's not a salad, that's clearly your weekly shopping list

ChiChaNaYubi · 02/06/2023 13:15

Im not too proud to admit that I did struggle to finish it. I got a bit excited about making a massive salad.

I posted one once and someone said it wasn't a salad because it had masses of bacon (with a load of laughing faces about the GIANT amount of bacon) on it
It was 25g of crispy bacon (the pack is 50g so I knew how much it was)

BadNomad · 02/06/2023 13:15

Just because you throw it on top of lettuce doesn't make it a salad! Put it on a plate and it would be a dinner for 4.

Sorry no, they don't live with me now.
I could try posting it.

AdoraBell · 02/06/2023 13:16

I’ve voted YABU just because most salad/veg is missing but you won’t starve due to 2 eggs and possibly hummus.

Either way, hope you enjoy your snack/lunch.

OneMoreCookieMonster · 02/06/2023 13:16

It looked insanely good and the mushrooms looked lush. Ypu can make me a salad anyday

Thindog · 02/06/2023 13:07

I have that salad too, except that I fry the eggs, mushrooms and potatoes.

Me too. Breakfast Fry-up Salad

ColdHandsHotHead · 02/06/2023 13:18

That's enough for FOUR people!

eggs and chicken together just feels wrong….in food terms.

Haven't made it to the end, so not sure if anyone else has said this, but there's a Japanese dish made with chicken and eggs called Oyakodon, which I believe translates to parent and child. It's very delicious.

OP you're missing out the most important information, namely ..How many people is it for? Only then can we make a proper judgement!

BotterMon · 02/06/2023 13:18

100 person wedding breakfast that.

How much of that is organically home-grown though?

Iusedtoliveinsanfrancisco · 02/06/2023 13:03

id have a big Mac and fries. Less fat and fewer calories and no vomit.

Way less nutrients and more sugar though, to be fair.

Onegingerhead · 02/06/2023 13:19

It would feed me for a week, or I'd gain at least 2 pounds a day should I dare eating this daily

QuintanaRoo · 02/06/2023 13:19

Are the mushrooms hot or cold?

because hot mushrooms don’t go with a cold salad and cold mushrooms are slimy.

I agree . I can't eat together as the eggs might belong to the chicken !!!

When I do hard boiled eggs , I leave them for one minute in a running boil , take them off the heat , then put a lid on the saucepan and leave for 10-12 minutes depending on size . Perfect , and saves on electricity .

🙄 egg & chicken is completely normal

Is that chicken next to the mushrooms? I always feel weird about eating chickens and eggs at the same time. It seems ghoulish somehow.

100% me too!! Can’t bear chicken and egg together!

Ontopofthesunset · 02/06/2023 13:22

All the salad police on here! Some posters are clearly joking, but others seem to be serious.

'Salad' is a word with a broad meaning. Mainly, it means cold food with some raw vegetables as a base (though not always, as you can have roasted vegetable salad).

I give you: Cobb salad, salade Niçoise, potato salad, pasta salad, wakame salad, fruit salad, chef's salad, Caesar salad, Russian salad or salad Olivier, Greek salad, rice salad, Waldorf salad, salad Caprese. Most, if not all, salads are not just leaves and raw vegetables. Most of them have some kind of protein and/or carbs on them, some of them several.

The word 'salad' looks really strange to me now, like those 'a sad lad' typing exercises from the old day.

My active DH who cycles 30 times an houe and 3 sons, who are all 6 foot strapping rugby players, and myself, who fits into a pocket, would struggle to eat this, you fatty.

I think we have lost sight of what a portion is.
