It's not hot here.

However it does fill me with dread. We live in a house which is fucking unbearably hot.
Ive never known anything like it.
It's the one and only thing that will force me to move out of this house as soon as I have the money to do so.

If it's the house that's hot, rather than the weather, get a window fan like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/intake%EF%BC%8CReversible-Functions-Additional-Expandable-Household/dp/B08W3TGJZR/ref=sr11_3?crid=2NJM7VOW2MYJZ&keywords=Window+fan&qid=1684851106&sprefix=window+fan%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-3 which pulls and pushes air through.

Makes a massive difference and cheaper than a/c.

I'm with you OP 😭

ohtowinthelottery · 23/05/2023 15:15

Bring it on! I've just spent £2k on a holiday abroad as I was so fed up with the cold and rain. Can't remember when I last had the heating on this late into the season and my sandals and shorts were still in the wardrobe.

WordtoYoMumma · 23/05/2023 15:28

It's always super hot at the end of May! Have had many a happy half term in a bikini on a beach in the UK in May/June. It'll get cold again don't worry

Foxglove22 · 23/05/2023 15:29

Yes! I can cope with this, but anything much hotter and I can't function properly. Last summer was horrific. Love the sunshine but not the heat.

JassyRadlett · 23/05/2023 15:29

Come on, you lot who love it cold have at least 3/4 of the year! Allow those of us who love the warmth a fleeting amount of joy?

mast0650 · 23/05/2023 15:30

YABU. I don't like very hot temperatures. But 23-24 is perfect! It's been a long time coming - we would normally have had a bit more warm-ish, sunny weather by now.
Doesn't follow that we are going to hit 40 degrees again in July.

It's sometimes very warm at the end of May where I live but never super hot.

Looks lovely to me. I like it best when it is about 23-25.

Me too

ilovesooty · 23/05/2023 15:31

Me too

And me.

Hayliebells · 23/05/2023 15:32

I thought you were going to say it's forecast to be 30+ or something. This is just nice late spring/early summer weather. It's not that hot.

Terino · 23/05/2023 15:35

Don't worry too much, it isn't indicative of summer. 🙂 We may get a breezy, slightly rainy summer anyway!
Last one was horrible, hopefully this summer won't go above an absolute max of 24°c or so!
I'll do my very best rain dance to entice a cool, rainy summer OP. 😁

Thepeopleversuswork · 23/05/2023 15:40

I love heat personally so this is the best news I've had for ages.

DidyouNO · 23/05/2023 15:42

Well, I'm in Scotland so looks like it'll pee down for the rest of the year after that week 😂

TrickyD · 23/05/2023 15:47

We have a sofa bed in the conservatory, so on very hot nights we would use that. With all doors and vents and windows open it was fine.

Last year though, some nights were too hot even for that solution so DH put up a camp bed in the nice cool cellar and slept there.

I was OK in our usual bed in the bedroom, it was cool enough for me on my own, even with an added cat.

However DH said he would not put up with the cellar again so we have had an air con unit installed in a spare bedroom.

I didn’t want it in our bedroom as it would have messed up the decor. The ceiling in the spare room is considerably higher and it fits very neatly between the picture rail and the ceiling.

i just hope we have enough baking hot nights to justify the expense.

Strawberrypicnic · 23/05/2023 15:48

Sorry it looks amazing. I'm sick of being chilly!!

JustBeKindItsEasy · 23/05/2023 15:48

In the south here also.
Its just about right.
I can’t stand the heat and I used to live in Hong Kong
So I would hate it to get much hotter than you already have OP

Bring on the 40s I say

Never thought of sleeping in the cellar.
Might give that a go this year if it gets too hot. Thanks @TrickyD

WhatHaveIFound · 23/05/2023 15:50

Sorry, no. I'm mixed race and designed for warmer weather. Looking for to getting my teens out on walks in the sunshine!

Mumsday · 23/05/2023 15:53

It’s been freezing all year. Stop. Whingeing.

JustBeKindItsEasy · 23/05/2023 15:54

Just read some people still have their heating on?!

limitedperiodonly · 23/05/2023 15:54

Usually we have to wait for a few days of temperatures over 20 degrees for the competitive: "Ooh! It's too hot for me!" posts.

Cheer up, OP. It might never happen.

Ginmonkeyagain · 23/05/2023 15:57

I'm delighted that my washing is currently drying outside in less than a day.

marmitegirl01 · 23/05/2023 15:58

This is normal temperatures? No?
