That's.... not hot?

Riverlee · 23/05/2023 13:53

looking forward to some heat. Here (south east) it’s been around 17, but the wind has been chilly. Looking forward to a bit of heat (but not extreme heat).

PucketyPuckPuck · 23/05/2023 13:55

After the gas bills I've been paying since October, I don't think I'll ever complain about warm weather again. I'm just delighting at looking at my smart meter on £24 for May so far when this time in Jabuary is £224 😂

Skyrim40 · 23/05/2023 13:55

At least you ain't paying for heating ! My gas bill is amazing and it's only may!

LadyJ2023 · 23/05/2023 13:56

It absaloutely delights me it can never ever be to hot

diddl · 23/05/2023 13:57

Looks just pleasant to me & I struggle in the heat!

Thought that there were going to be 3s not 2s as the first digit!!

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 23/05/2023 13:57

I absolutely love it.

Hohohogreenjennie · 23/05/2023 13:59

I’m just over 5 miles away from Manchester and it’s predicting 20 degrees on Friday to your 24 in Manchester.

Amazing that there can be such variety in weather so close by. But I think I prefer my forecast to yours 🤣

spiderlight · 23/05/2023 14:03

I really need it to stay a manageable temperature until the exams are over. Last year was awful. I do not do heat, and neither does my (ginger) DS.

LumpySpaceGoddess · 23/05/2023 14:06

Quite the opposite! It completely uplifts me, I suffer so much in the cold and my mental health is always as it’s lowest during the winter months, the sunshine and hot weather just brings me so much hope and happiness.

CoffeeCantata · 23/05/2023 14:09

Yes OP. I hate really hot weather (love 't-shirt weather', around 23/24 degrees) and I find droughts frightening. I'm stressed by seeing grass go brown and farmer's crops etc struggling. Even if people don't care about anything but their own immediate happiness - crop failure will translate into scarcities and higher prices, so we should all care.

But even if it has to be uncomfortably hot, please let there be regular rainfall to keep things green and alive.

Fairyliz · 23/05/2023 14:11

No looks fabulous to me op. Where are you? Looks better than where I am in the Midlands, would you like to swop houses?

Mañanarama · 23/05/2023 14:12

I’d rather it didn’t hit 40° again but bloody hell I am loving having all the windows open and no heating on!

It’s been the slowest start to spring since 1986 and I’m sick of myself moaning about being cold.

Bring it on!

ASGIRC · 23/05/2023 14:13

Im not in the UK anymore, but in April we had 2 weeks of around 30 degree weather, which is unusual for the season.
We re now back to the usual 22-26 degree weather.

One week is not the end of the world.

And its pretty common. Ive had many sunny, hot BBQs in April/May, in the UK.

SamW98 · 23/05/2023 14:13

It fills me with dread that I’d much rather it was 30 degrees than 20.

Fuckitydoodah · 23/05/2023 14:13

We're due some sun, bring it on. I love this time of year and that temp is just right. Not too hot or muggy.

Make the most of it, the rest of the summer could easily be shite.

BooksAndHooks · 23/05/2023 14:14

It’s been cooler than usual years to be honest. Haven’t hit 23 once yet. I’m concerned we will have a rubbish summer more than a hot one.

Phos · 23/05/2023 14:19

24 really really isn’t hot 😂

StonwEd · 23/05/2023 14:19

That's not hot but a very very welcome change from the months of dreary weather we've had. I'll take it, but it isn't exactly boiling. I get excited for the weather once it reaches 26

BrightYellowDaffodil · 23/05/2023 14:19

No, not remotely. It's a perfectly normal temperature for the time of year, what with it being June next week and all.

Just because the temperature has gone up recently doesn't mean it's going to keep rising endlessly until we all boil Hmm

Obels · 23/05/2023 14:20

Horrible. I don't really like weather over 17 degrees.

FijiSea · 23/05/2023 14:20

TooOldForThisNonsense · 23/05/2023 13:38

Come to Glasgow it’s shite here

just been on the news that it’s cooler for May than in the last 5 years.

Yeah I’m in Scotland too and usually by this time of year we can at least have a few bbqs by now, it’s been far too cold and damp.
The kids have still been wearing padded jackets to school.
Bring on the sun and the summer !

ShakeYourFeathers · 23/05/2023 14:20

Sounds perfect to me got some fair weather events planned for June/July so it's nice to know it won't be raining and cold for once

Obels · 23/05/2023 14:22

To me, 24 is hot. Honestly I get so depressed in the summer. I'm not even overweight! But my body runs hot. When other people complain it's cold, I'm actually quite happy, I love sleeping with an open window in winter.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/05/2023 14:22

As long as it gets no hotter, I'm happy. I'm
Done with cold weather.
