He’s had a lot to say this morning, probably things, he, and many others, have wanted to say for a long time, very interesting. He and Ruth seem to be v well
liked and respected in the industry and are good, decent people.
It seems karma is working it’s magic, which is so rare with workplace bullies and arseholes, I’m so here for it. May the decent people prevail!

@curtainsfringe The young boy, Ruth put a complaint in and was pushed out not long afterwards & Eamonn too. Holly just went along with it all

God I feel sorry for PS's wife and children in all this and of course any groomed youngster.

I can't enjoy the gossip surrounding this story - it's all bad.

I've been accused of "internalised misogny" on another thread - but Holly does not come out of it well. There's no way on earth she could not have been aware of what was going on - along with many others of course.

AnAngelAtMyTableWithMe · 22/05/2023 20:50

I don't like any of them but the part about him being fired needed to be said for sure

purpleme12 · 22/05/2023 21:17

Ah thank you for the you tube clip of Eammon I had no idea he'd said all that!

Don't you have that Loose Women thing for such bias?
I've never seen morning TV since the children watched Roland Rat, never seen the point of it but it certainly seems to provoke a lot of arguments!

If I'm watching morning TV it is usually the BBC news channel or Sky news. I can honestly say I've never seen Loose Women so I've got no idea what that is like. TM was something I used to watch when I was on maternity leave many years ago. PS I only know from children's TV, again year ago.

I’m not a fan of Phillip Schofield in anyway shape or form but Eamonn Holmes is a very bitter man. He, quite frankly, needs to sit down, shut up and pay the hundreds of thousands of pounds he owes in taxes, imo.

Yep, this! Can't stand the man.

What have people publicly said about PS over the years, I wasnt aware of this, I think I remember the thing about Fern Britton being dumped and her feeling that was down to him, I loved her on this morning, I stopped watching after she left

She had such a warm onscreen presence. Intelligent and mature. I couldn’t watch after she left.

BonnieBobbin · 23/05/2023 07:59

I don't like a culture that implies whistleblowers can only speak out if they are above reproach. That sort of purity spiral means no-one and no company can ever be called out.No-one is saying EH is perfect. He very obviously isn't. But it's a fact that he has spoken out about PS and the culture enabled around him for years. So did Ruth, Amanda Holden, etc.

Apparently other presenters were becoming vocal after PS' brother's court case too eg the cute doctor - who apparently said in an interview that he was starting to think ITV didn't match his values.

Even if we just go by verified facts in the public domain - PS knew what his brother had done because he confessed to him and PS did nothing about it. So spare me the crying about poor PS and the witch-hunt.

Eamonn Holmes isn't a whistleblower though, is he? Just joining a pile on. Phillip Schofield is grim, doesn't make it appealing to watch someone rich and famous using their platform to celebrate the downfall of someone who got in their way.

I think Ruth submitted an official complaint about PS after he cut her off on air, but of course we don’t know what else she complained about, if anything.

And Eamonn referred yesterday to the alleged culture of fear and implied that it allegedly extended to the top management - so it obviously was not easy to whistle blow - that’s what lies at the heart of this current story surely?

BonnieBobbin · 23/05/2023 11:41

I feel like the cute doctor. Obviously some posters have very different values which mean they'd rather defend someone who didn't tell the authorities about abuse.

Fwiw going to the public with stories about bad behaviour of a company and/or colleague is whistleblowing.

But really it feels like a lot of deliberate whataboutery - try to divert the thread to moan about EH then no-one will mention that PS' brother was convicted of being a paedophile; that a young runner was moved from This Morning around the time PS 'came out'; that numerous presenters and guests have complained about the culture at This Morning. People finally being held vaguely accountable isn't a tragedy. The problem is it shouldn't have taken so long. And that this should be the beginning of changes, not the end of it.

I think If id been in his situation, I’d be exactly the same, P.S’s treatment of staff and other presenters and this young boy, Holly going along with it all. Ruth being decent and putting a complaint in and then later, losing her presenting role. Rylan leaving due to the way they were, well P.S at least. Not to mention lovely Fern Britton and Amanda Holden (I’m not really a fan, but still unfair behaviour) We’ve surely all been in workplaces where arseholes wield power like this, I would revel in the downfall too, it’s a good day for karma working it’s magic.
There is something v odd in that P.S is being protected by itv and it needs to be investigated further

How do you know Ruth put a complaint in?

How do you know Ruth put a complaint in?

Just Google it! It’s been reported that Ruth Langford allegedly logged an official complaint against PS to Emma Gormley (head of ITV light entertainment) in a multitude of newspapers including The Sun, The Express, The DM, the Evening Standard, the Scottish Sun, and many more.

JenniferBooth · 23/05/2023 14:51

Whats with all the gaslighting. People DID speak out ages ago Eamon and Ruth Rylan and Amanda Holden.

BonnieBobbin · 23/05/2023 16:45

Yy certain posters are determined for PS getting sacked to be about anybody but PS. They're probably hoping to distract from HW too.

HW certainly has powerful PR behind her (allegedly) 😃

What did holly do to ferne cotton?

They made a pact to leave together after a certain number of years. Can't remember if it was 10 years but basically agreed to leave on a high at the same time.
Then when the time came, Holly changed her mind.

She's obviously entitled to, same as she was entitled to change her mind with Peter Jones too but seems to be a pattern.

Yes. Having seen clips of him when he wasn't presenting, thought him dreadful. I can only think the op is Eamonn himself. I find him so arrogant and don't enjoy watching him at all.

PerfectYear321 · 23/05/2023 23:14

Can't stand Eammon. Pompous fool

Looks really weird these days too

Inawoodtherelived · 23/05/2023 23:37

Eamonn is a product of his upbringing and he can come across as misogynistic at times. Funnily enough, I don’t think he’s pompous. If you watch that clip for example, he acknowledges how unimportant morning tv is in the scheme of things as most people are out when it’s on.
