He’s had a lot to say this morning, probably things, he, and many others, have wanted to say for a long time, very interesting. He and Ruth seem to be v well
liked and respected in the industry and are good, decent people.
It seems karma is working it’s magic, which is so rare with workplace bullies and arseholes, I’m so here for it. May the decent people prevail!

My DH has worked with Eamonn and Ruth, he knows Ruth better from years back. EH isn't everybody's cup of tea but was popular enough in the industry. He has made himself look an utter plank with this outburst today though - he should have had a little dignity.

I think they should get Ruth and Eamonn back on This Morning, at least for some of the days. I think they present really well.

While I like Ruth I always felt Eamonn used to try and put her down when she had an opinion on certain things.
Ruth and Rylan could work well.

drpet49 · 22/05/2023 13:46

I can’t stand Eammon Holmes. And what has he done to his face? He looks like a mad puppet.

JudgeJ · 22/05/2023 13:49

Iwasafool · 22/05/2023 10:05

Might shock you but you can dislike Eamonn Holmes without being a Philip Schofield fan. I haven't watch TM since Richard and Judy days and to be honest I think it would have been better with Judy presenting without him.

Maybe we should be aiming for all female presenters?

Don't you have that Loose Women thing for such bias?
I've never seen morning TV since the children watched Roland Rat, never seen the point of it but it certainly seems to provoke a lot of arguments!

Cat1066 · 22/05/2023 13:52

I know Eamonn in real life. He's a genuinely nice guy. However I think there was no need for him to say what he said this morning. He should have shown some dignity and refused to comment.

I'm not a fan of Phillip Schofield but it feels like a nasty witch hunt now. He's lost his job. Isn't that enough.

FelicityFeatherstone · 22/05/2023 13:54

I like EH. I met him at a police awards ceremony that I helped to organise in London.

He agreed to come along, charged no fee. Wouldn't hear of it. Presented two awards. Made time to chat to absolutely everyone afterwards and was genuinely interested in the work that had been done and people's individual stories

He was just a nice chap and decent so I can only speak as I found him from meeting him.

Abitofquietinthemorningplease · 22/05/2023 13:55

He seems lovely and all who have met him seem to say the same.

I suspect that PS has been so awful to so many people for so long that some of these people like EH and AH etc simply can't help but have a small
gloat after his potential downfall and I'd do the bloody same.

Abitofquietinthemorningplease · 22/05/2023 13:56

Talk Tv is talking about a former member of staff in This morning saying Holly is a diva and lots want her gone too 😬

@FelicityFeatherstone Its definitely understandable

What I've found so odd is that for literally years, so many high profile names have publicly come out slating Schofield - Ruth & Eamon, Rylan, Fern Britton, Amanda Holden, yet ITV still continued to push him as their main presenter while all of them lost their jobs for daring to speak out.

It's like Brexit isn't it?

There's a prevailing orthodoxy that suits certain people in positions of power.

But it's not reality so it can't hold.

JulieHoney · 22/05/2023 10:10

And I can’t remember which one Dec is 😂

Someone told me that they always stand so that Ant is on the viewer's left and it is true they do! Until I knew this I could never recall who was who

Rinkydinkydoodle · 22/05/2023 14:41

@JulieHoney

Ant is the one who looks like an ant - visualise it, the antennae on his wee round napper. Never fails

Abitofquietinthemorningplease · 22/05/2023 16:31

Yikes

Well done, Eamonn!

No, losing his job isn't enough, if the rumours are true.

TheFairyCaravan · 22/05/2023 09:34

I’m not a fan of Phillip Schofield in anyway shape or form but Eamonn Holmes is a very bitter man. He, quite frankly, needs to sit down, shut up and pay the hundreds of thousands of pounds he owes in taxes, imo.

This. With bells on.

I can't get past the absolute smugfest that is Eamonn and Ruth. Not for me thanks.....

Kokopenny · 22/05/2023 18:14

I suspect this is the tip of a very big iceberg

anythingbutlillies · 22/05/2023 18:17

Iwasafool · 22/05/2023 09:37

Can't stand Eamonn or Ruth for that matter so I wouldn't be interested in what he thinks. He always seems so full of his own importance and she isn't far behind.

I've never wanted a 'like button' more. ....😅

nubtheoryhhh · 22/05/2023 11:15

Crikey O’Reilly!

Contrary to what pps have said, I rather admire Eamonn for his candour here.

Abitofquietinthemorningplease · 22/05/2023 19:08

@Inawoodtherelived Me too, majority on social media are saying the same, just not on this post as much 😂but on other posts on here 🤷🏻‍♀️

Eeeeny · 22/05/2023 19:56

If I'm honest, I think if I'd had the platform that Eammon had and I'd been treated so badly I'd react the same and damn the consequences
People should stop pussyfooting around
PS knew precisely what he was doing and didn't care as he was ' top of his game' and thought he'd be protected from everything

Inawoodtherelived · 22/05/2023 20:06

Also, the question Eamonn raises about why PS has been so protected to date is very interesting…

Abitofquietinthemorningplease · 22/05/2023 20:10

It really is..!
