Well done, Eamonn!

He’s had a lot to say this morning, probably things, he, and many others, have wanted to say for a long time, very interesting. He and Ruth seem to be v well
liked and respected in the industry and are good, decent people.
It seems karma is working it’s magic, which is so rare with workplace bullies and arseholes, I’m so here for it. May the decent people prevail!

I have to laugh at the fact that Eamonn Holmes is being held up as some paragon on integrity here.

He’s a thoroughly unpleasant and disagreeable arsehole.

Well he is a saint compared to that Schofield, child grooming, peado protecting bollox.

Eamonn may be unpleasant but he is none of the above.....

Eamonn really strikes me as an honest bloke who does not want to be two-faced. He didn't pretend to like the dreadful Anthea Turner either

Not everyone's style to be that open with one's opinions but fair play to him

I hear he can be a bit grumpy but is always reasonable, fair and easy to work with as in you know what you're getting. No back-stabbing.

What's wrong with Anthea lol

Cantstaystuckforever · 22/05/2023 11:17

Eamonn's repeatedly shown his misogynism through what he's said and how he's acted to others, was painfully smug on Gogglebox, and anyone who'd agree to be on GB News is not one of the 'nice' ones.

JulieHoney · 22/05/2023 11:17

Thank you @VikingLady , @TheFairyCaravan @tuvamoodyson @AbreathofFrenchair for attempting to set me straight.

I still had to Google because yes, I know he was the Not Drink Driving One, I didn't watch Byker Grove and I couldn't picture their heights.

He's the one who looks like a friendly wee lad, not the one with the big forehead.

Cantstaystuckforever · 22/05/2023 11:18

Don't like Schofield either, but praising Eamonn Holmes just highlights how the bar is on the floor for male TV presenters.

lemmein · 22/05/2023 11:19

Nobody ever just leaves This Morning - there's always a shit load of controversy surrounding every departure.

You don't have to have an affair with a young boy to be a bad person.

It depends how you define bad. And whether you’ve actually met the person.

JulieHoney · 22/05/2023 11:20

I wouldn't say most of us are praising him, just enjoying the schadenfreude.

EH always struck me as a pompous twat, but I can enjoy him having a go as the smarmy nonce who's used superinjunctions to hide who he is.

ImAvingOops · 22/05/2023 11:20

Bloody hell, has Eamonn forgotten that his wife still works for ITV? He's so keen to put the boot into P&H that he's not bothering to think about how things might be for Ruth going into work this week!

Id love to see his phone messages though.

Dawn Neesom was very interesting. It's so funny watching tv shows try to tackle this subject without mentioning the elephant in the room

I've never been paint balling before his accident and have always refused to go since 😂😂

on that clip they even said who watched it;
and quoted:

retired
off sick - whenever i was off sick, i would watch homes under the hammer, and that heirs programme
unemployed
students - for a start i cant think of any students that i know of who would watch that.

I thought that. Do they not know people do shift work??

WhyOhWine · 22/05/2023 11:22

Dec is the one on the right (looking at the TV)

BeforetheFlood · 22/05/2023 11:25

Regardless of what Schofield is like as a person and what he's done (fwiw I truly dislike him and think he is/has been a dangerous individual) I think Eamonn comes off appallingly here.

I would hesitate to speak that viciously amongst close friends in the pub, never mind on TV. Gleefully dishing the dirt, speculating and spreading what amounts to malicious gossip shows him to have no professional or personal integrity. He's so eager to gloat over Schofield's fall from grace he's showing his own true colours, which are pretty unpleasant.

People have to stand up to bullies

JemimaTiggywinkles · 22/05/2023 11:29

Eamonn may be unpleasant but he is none of the above

So why wait til now? If the PS affair had been an open secret at ITV why didn't he say something sooner? The supposed "super injunction" is in place now just as it was before, so everything he's said now he could have said much earlier.

Eamonn is a misogynist so I take everything he says about HW with a hefty dose of salt. Not that I particularly like her either tbh.

BonnieBobbin · 22/05/2023 11:30

I've never read so many posters complaining about Eamonn. It's hilarious. Here's PS who has been surrounded by complaints from fellow presenters and guests; whose brother has just been convicted for being a paedophile and posters want to focus on Eamonn when all he did was comment on the newspaper headlines on his show. Sure, that all seems legit Hmm

Holly has never publicly stood up for any of the staff who were sacked or moved. Instead she has always positioned herself along PS. She should be sacked too. This Morning needs a complete overhaul and new presenters.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 22/05/2023 11:31

But Eamonn kept quiet for years. It takes very little effort to stand up to a bully once they've already been taken down by someone else.

Yellowdays · 22/05/2023 11:33

Yawn, yawn, yawn.

Daytime tv turns out to be an awful insular world, incredibly self referential. All of them bitching about each other, when in fact, who gives a damn? We don't know any of these people. There are far more important and real things to talk about.

Mañanarama · 22/05/2023 11:33

We don’t have to pick teams you know. Hating Eammon & Ruth does not mean loving Phil & Holly, they’re all horrible arseholes in one way or another.

MidgeHardcastle · 22/05/2023 11:33

I'd watch it if Judy came back. I always thought that she was a jolly good laugh and be a great mate to go drinking with.

I'd probably watch Fern as well. Holly is going to be a casualty I think although she hasn't really done anything wrong.

Hate Eamon with a vengeance. How Ruth puts up with him I've no idea.

Mañanarama · 22/05/2023 11:35

Bring back Fern!

BonnieBobbin · 22/05/2023 11:36

Put Judy and Fern together - assuming they don't secretly hate each other as well.

Well quite. They are dull narcissist twats. I can understand the interest in the Schofield stuff because it’s a proper story but who gives a tinker’s fuck what Eamonn Holmes thinks.

Papernotplastic · 22/05/2023 11:38

I don’t watch itv. I have no opinion on Holly, I have no time for Philip Schofield after what came out at his brother’s trial (he should have reported his brother to the police). Eamon Holmes treatment of a rape survivor on tv was backward, victim blaming, misogynist shit. Someone who acts like that when being filmed is only going to be worse off camera. There was a thread about it on here. I didn’t like him before but that was my limit.
