I feel sick watching king charles

Mooshamoo · 06/05/2023 10:48

I don't want him as king. I feel sick watching a bit of the coronation this morning. I just caught a bit of it and I felt ill.

We are not subjects. It's 2023.
I don't want to be like an animal with an owner
I don't like the man. He has had so many scandals and bad friends. Why should he be allowed to rule over us.
This stuff shouldn't be going on in 2023.

Anyone think the same?

Some of the most liberal European democracies have monarchs- Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Denmark come to
mind. We are certainly not the only ones.

Charles and Camilla were well received in Germany the other month, the King even tried to speak German. Much better than the elected Tories who just want to divide us from Europe.

I must confess I do feel uneasy at all the coronation splendour when there is an economic crisis but I have to say I am much more embarrassed by our elected leaders, especially the likes of Boris and Truss and Brexit and they definitely are talked about by other Europeans and making us a laughing stock.

I’m in Sweden and watching, our King and beautiful Crown Princess sitting front row. It’s a stunning ceremony, you should all be proud of your country and this day. Everyone has done a great job!!

Florenz · 06/05/2023 12:50

Maybe the anti-Monarchist should get a bus and put "lets fund our NHS with the money we pay for the monarchy" on the side of it.

ROI.

If this is the case then the initial post is baffling…

It isn’t even a Commonwealth member.

HandaPanda · 06/05/2023 12:51

Where are the King & Queen right now?

SheMadeMeDoItMum · 06/05/2023 12:51

elm26 · 06/05/2023 12:39

Why are they?

Oh dear god
It's rather like 'if you don't know who is the most disliked in your friendship group, it's probably you...'

You were still in ireland few days ago. That is a very sudden and convenient move

Christ. Thanks for watching and analysing my every move. Not that I should have to explain myself. But to say it vriefky.

I still own a house in Ireland and I am in the middle of selling it, and have to go back to pick up stuff and sort stuff out.

It takes forty minutes to fly to England. People move to England all the time!

Im surprised that you think its unusual.

@QueenMegan

I actually forgot to watch.
I respected the Queen as I would any hard working lady. He is a grumpy selfish opinionated old bastard. Not king material at all. Very fitting weather. He'll hate that.

YAWWWN Wink

You - along with a bunch of other people on here today, sure are talking a LOT about the Coronation, and the Royal family, for people who are totally, absolutely not remotely interested whatsoever. 😂

HandaPanda · 06/05/2023 12:53

Sorry wrong thread! Thought i was on the watch party thread. Wondered why there was such a downer on everything!

PrettyMaybug · 06/05/2023 12:53

SheMadeMeDoItMum · 06/05/2023 12:55

@Mooshamoo You are welcome to piss off and live in the US, North Korea, China, Rusdia or anywhere else without a Monarchy.
Don't forget, we tried not having a Monarchy for a while, amnd look how that turned out for Cromwell and co...

What! How in earth was I owned. This is utterly bizarre. This is so laughable I don't even know what to say.

So you think i can't have been in Ireland two days ago, and then be in England today?
I own a house in Ireland.

I have started a new job in England.

A flight to the UK is forty minutes from ireland. It's so easy to fly over.

Tbh I am quite enjoying the show. I didn't catch who she is but the woman giving the sword to them (she is still standing there) is 5* elegance

In fact , seeing as people go through my post history so much.

It's there on my post history.

You can clearly see the post I wrote about three weeks ago , saying that I was going for a job interview in Bristol.

And I wrote in the post that I got offered the job.

Since then , I've been back and forth between UK and ireland. I've been back to Ireland to sort out stuff .

My job in UK starts next Monday.

We don't have to go through your posts to search. You are THAT memorable

chocolateandvanillaicecream · 06/05/2023 13:02

I don't get people saying it's all outdated. Today is a celebration, it's not a typical day. He doesn't really rule over us. The music and singers are all very talented and it's lovely to see children involved in the choirs so it's a lot of people coming together and celebrating. How is that outdated? We're talking about it online and watching it on tv which is pretty modern. When people say they want a head of state and something more modern- perhaps you could suggest someone that you would like to be put forward for head of state, perhaps someone off Facebook or tiktok or Instagram, perhaps that would be seen as being much more modern to those who think it's all outdated

What do you want? A president? Spiritual Leader?
Whichever comes cheapest?

what's is silly outdated mentality that we need anything? Pathetic

WeeblesWobbled · 06/05/2023 13:04

I agree with you. Can't stand it. I haven't watched any, but seeing the kid (don't know his name - William's boy) dressed in that regalia, knowing that he will also one day be crowned. It makes you want to vomit. All the family (people we've never heard of many of them) gathered in the cathedral, many of them living off the fat of the land in grace and favour homes. Horrible. And all overlayed with the "glamour" of pomp and ceremony.

You're right. It's outdated.
