We are not and I feel bad for it especially as I know so many who are.
We are on a tight budget so can't really afford to be doing much either.

SouthCountryGirl · 03/05/2023 12:16

I'm away with friends. But not actually doing anything.

CalistoNoSolo · 03/05/2023 12:18

No. For many, many reasons. But mainly because I'm not a forelock-tugging serf.

WhatHaveIFound · 03/05/2023 12:18

DH is working away. I'll probably pop to see my parents, then catch up on a pile of office work. DS will be busy revising.

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 03/05/2023 12:22

Define 'doing nothing' - we are certainly not celebrating it in any way shape or form. We are going away, camping, to get away from the shenanigans.

Yup.

glassespet · 03/05/2023 12:23

Not doing anything coronation related here. Me and the kids are raging republicans. If I suggested any coronation celebrating they'd think I'd grown an extra head

x2boys · 03/05/2023 12:24

We are trying to sort the Garden out for summer ,but other than that nothing , we have no interest in the coronation

CatOnTheChair · 03/05/2023 12:24

Well, it's DSs birthday weekend.
So, we've got plans, but nothing to do with the coronation!

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 03/05/2023 12:24

Treating it as a totally normal weekend. Going to IKEA on Saturday, out with friends for lunch on Sunday.

Avoiding the entire unedifying spectacle.

Newname2323 · 03/05/2023 12:24

Nope and I'm glad i don't know anyone who is

Lcb123 · 03/05/2023 12:24

We’re going camping

LadyWiddiothethird · 03/05/2023 12:26

Normal things for me,shopping, swimming, walk the dog.Couldn’t give a kipper about the Coronation.

AnIncreasingNumberOfPaws · 03/05/2023 12:26

Not doing anything Coronation related but we are going away with friends.

AuntieMarys · 03/05/2023 12:29

Just a weekend for us .. we are ignoring it. Going day drinking instead in bars not showing the bloody thing.

DisquietintheRanks · 03/05/2023 12:29

I'll be going through my dead father's house with my sister sorting out his stuff and also cleaning gutters. Might actually watch a bit of the coronation itself on the Sat morning. Does that count as "doing nothing" or "doing something"? I certainly won't be hanging bunting or attending a street party. What sort of coronation thing are people doing that costs money (mind boggles)?

WoolyMammoth55 · 03/05/2023 12:29

Urg, horrible old Charlie and Camilla are the least appealing, grimmest "tampon" couple EVER, neither of whom are worthy of my time, attention or bloody obeisance! Not very literary, but frankly they can do one :)

I hope it rains all over their waste of money self-indulgent day (but that I get some sun here so I can raise a glass to the surely-not-too-distant day we are a republic!)

Don't sweat it OP, this nonsense isn't worth anyone's time.

DogInATent · 03/05/2023 12:30

Does concreting a path count as doing something?

montysma1 · 03/05/2023 12:32

No because it's the 21st century, I am not a serf and I am nobody's subject .

JulieHoney · 03/05/2023 12:32

I’ve got some beans to pot on, I think.

Last year’s Platty Jubes was more than enough royal bollocks for a lifetime.

Stitchesremoved22 · 03/05/2023 12:33

I mean you'd have to try pretty hard to do literally NOTHING. Just treat it as a normal weekend if you don't want to celebrate. The competitive 'I'd rather die than celebrate' is so dull and boring.
I'm not a royalist, I don't care either way about them but it's fun, an opportunity to have my family over and eat and drink and be merry and watch the historical spectacle, which by the way, will happen either way. Life must be miserable with so much bitterness and anger.

Breezycheesetrees · 03/05/2023 12:33

I'll be enjoying the long weekend doing plenty of nice things, but will be avoiding all coronation bollocks as best I possibly can.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 03/05/2023 12:34

A bit of gardening. Maybe I’ll bake something. Nothing special.

user1497207191 · 03/05/2023 12:35

No, maybe we'll see a bit of the highlights afterwards, but we're not remotely interested. Just a normal weekend for us.
