To wonder how a biological male has won a women's cycling race?

Seriously why are the sporting organisations so slow to stop biological men from entering the world of women's sport that they so predictably end up winning and stealing titles and opportunities from biological women.

The mind boggles in rage.

Cheating. Plain and simple. If you gone through puberty as a boy/man you have superior strength, lung capitity etc etc etc

3 cycloXrs here, we all think watched video & thought nothing of it. DH pointed out that it was the duty of (onus on) the rider behind not to try to slip thru a non-existent gap or try to push past unsafely, and you can't tell from the angle what was the best line that AK would try to take (which rider behind would see well and should respect). At worst, AK showed poor awareness of another rider trying to overtake. Which happens all the flipping time in CycloX.

My gut feeling is to would prefer biological males not be in same competitive category as biological females, too.

I disagree that AK is built that strongly, pretty weedy imo, actually.

You all undermine your case (about desirability of compatible biology of the competitors) by making up claims about aggression (it wasn't an aggressive move) or making out AK is wildly more muscly than others in the race (she isn't) or making out that AK is dominating the sport (she isn't).

So if you want to alienate people like me with the TERF prejudicess, and destroy my sympathy for your viewpoint, crack on. You're doing a grand job of losing my support.

By TERF prejudices you mean stating that men remain men, despite what they claim to be?
That isn't a prejudice. That's a fact.

Dracuuule · 01/05/2023 21:52

This is all utterly insane. I don't understand how we have got here.

BlueAndGreen89 · 01/05/2023 21:55

YANBU it’s absolutely insane.

Absolute bullshit, the cheating male goes out of their way to block the female rider and swings their bike to hit her. The gap was wide open until a violent cheat deliberately closed it.

He would rank over 500th in the men's race and came 1st in the womens.

Fuxk off men out of women sports they do not belong.

Because he's a cheating man who's fantasy has been allowed to override female reality.
Full on male privilege and entitlement.

Bet he got a large dose of 'gender euphoria' beating all the actual women.

Still fucking baffles me that some women actually go along with misogynistic bullshit.

He doesn't have to be more muscly than most women. Virtually all men, even the smaller, weaker ones, are stronger than most women.

And he shouldn't be competing in women's sport because he isn't a woman. It really is that simple.

DewinDwl · 01/05/2023 22:07

I hope he goes for the tour de France, it would be a mass peaking event.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 01/05/2023 22:18

It makes no difference at all how strong or weedy he is, he's a fucking MAN who shouldn't be competing in the women's race.

HE won the prize money that should've gone to a woman. A small man is still more powerful than a woman so you making out that some of the women are more muscular or larger than him is ridiculous. His male body gives him multiple advantages.
Calling him 'she' and praising his cheating makes a mockery of the actual women in that race who lost out because they had to race against a man.

So if you want to alienate people like me with the TERF prejudicess, and destroy my sympathy for your viewpoint, crack on. You're doing a grand job of losing my support

TERF prejudices? Like believing in biological reality and that your sexed body is what makes you a man or a woman, not your personality or imagination?

The fact you even use that slur speaks volumes.

caringcarer · 01/05/2023 22:18

This just gives me the rage.

Ludlow2 · 01/05/2023 22:21

It is a man competing unfairly in a women's race.

Bonkers that it is being normalised.

Dungaree · 01/05/2023 22:22

Might as well get rid of women's cycling and be done with it. Just lump everybody all in together and let the men win everything. At least that way they can't pretend there is a women's competition. I'd rather that than they claim there is a women's competition for fairness sake whilst allowing men to win it.

FrostyFifi · 01/05/2023 22:25

He won because he's a cheat, and we live in a bizarre society where you're the worst of bigots if you point that fact out.

Ludlow2 · 01/05/2023 22:25

✋ stop this nonsense.

Woman rights for REAL women.

Go and bloody compete in your own gender race.

Stop robbing a real woman her rightful win.
Bloody cheat.

nothingcomestonothing · 01/05/2023 22:26

Has anyone posted this yet?

To wonder how a biological male has won a women's cycling race?
ImAGoodPerson · 01/05/2023 22:28

Men should not be in women's sport end of! Saying he is 'weedy' etc is meaningless, a weedy man (that is performing at a high end sport) is often still stronger, faster etc than the stronger women. My DH was still stronger than me even when I weight trained, when exercising I could lift heavier weights as I had trained specifically for that but for normal every day things he was still stronger than me. There are many basic advantages, everyone knows this so it is infuriating people are still trying to deny this to give yet more advantages to men.

This is what Serena Williams said about tennis - “If I were to play Andy Murray, I would lose 6-0, 6-0 in five to six minutes, maybe 10 minutes. No, it’s true. It’s a completely different sport. The men are a lot faster and they serve harder, they hit harder, it’s just a different game".

I am waiting for men to start cropping up in women's pro tennis on the main circuits, maybe Tim Henman missed a trick there, guaranteed no 1 in the world as a woman no doubt.

I have always felt that everyone should be accepting of transmen/women in every day life, there is no reason to not be IMO, I know a few men who are now identifying as women, more than happy to give them their preferred pronouns, everyone is extremely accepting in their circle of friends, however I will never accept men in female sports/prisons/private spaces. I am yet to see a good argument for this.

Justhereforthebotox · 01/05/2023 22:31

I can’t put into words how confused I am by the fact that someone, probably a committee of someones, decided that it was a good and fair idea to let a man race/win/take the prize money in a women’s race.
Nuts.
Literally.

SidewaysOtter · 01/05/2023 22:32

Because this is where “be kind” gets us.

To (perhaps slightly mis)quote a woman I heard yesterday, how dare these men co-opt our oppression and sell it back to us as “inclusivity”?

Truth Will Always Matter.

Casilero · 01/05/2023 22:32

LaMaG · 01/05/2023 18:56

Yes my 15yr old too. I think long term this extreme gender ideology or whatever you call it will actually set back rights for LBTQ and people will become sick of the lot of them, which is extremely unfair. Its already set back woman's rights, but hey who cares about them 🙄I'm probably not allowed use the word "woman" anyhow without causing offence

That's a fair point. My daughter joined a youth club locally that was set up for LGBT as she thought she was Bi.

The club was completely taken over by trans initially but then later by people identifying as trees and cats, so the people it was actually set up to benefit ended up leaving and the whole club is now a joke.

My daughter doesn't think she's bisexual or lesbian anymore so it doesn't really matter to her, but for others in her peer group that question their sexuality, I don't know where they'd go. Not there anyway. My daughter and her friends laugh about the entire group now. My nephew in the same year does too. They call them the LGBTQ plus weirdos. Because that's what it's become now. A place for furries, trees, and anyone who wants to be a bit special, but not at all about young people who are questioning their sexuality and wanting support with that.

absolutelynoideas · 01/05/2023 22:34

I feel sick reading that

Ludlow2 · 01/05/2023 22:34

Wherever next will these 'women' crop up to cheat a prize.

Or make women feel unsafe in places they should feel safe.

Take jobs which in industries trying to get more 'women' in.

Take bursaries and scholarships for stem subjects meant for real women.
