Dalai llama ask a child to suck his tongue

Has anyone seen the new video of the Dalai Llama asking a child to suck his tongue. Yes. It sounds bizarre. But it is in the news right now. The video is out there. And the dalai llama is apologising on social media now

Im devastated! I went to see the Dalai Llama in India. He gave a speech on accepting and loving everyone, and that it didn't matter what religion we are. I always told people that it was one of the highlights of my life.

I went through life thinking he was a good person, that he was one of the good ones. To see this today, makes me think oh no is he yet another abuser.

Some people have remarked about this video that sticking your tongue out at someone is a greeting in Tibet.

However - the Dalai Llama kisses the child on the lips in the video, and asks the child to suck his tongue. It does not look right at all.

He has apologised on twitter now.

What do you all think?

I know how dementia and brain injury can change behaviours. We have no evidence here that the DL has either.

We do however have evidence that he assaulted that little boy, and that evidence further shows that no one stepped in to protect the boy.

We make of that what we will. Sorry that some people don't accept that we will draw our own conclusions as to the origins of these disgusting actions of a powerful man.

Sudeko · 12/04/2023 12:09

We don't care about the DL's welfare as a sex abuser. We care about the welfare of the little boy. That is the main clash taking place. We don't care why he did it, only that he did it.

Unfortunately no matter how decent some are, like the Muslim chap who filmed a fellow Muslim man raping a young girl in a taxi, you have other Muslims like this pulling him up on it.

TruthSerum@TruthCerumI think there is some confusion, in the holy month of Ramadan driver was just doing Iftari in his own way.

It is his fundamental right. Please do not take any action on the poor man. His dad is a school headmaster and he is an aspiring Model.

Whistle-blowers always get bullied trying to safeguard.

Whoever it is, expect a hail storm on you to be silent and not describe what is happening.

TrombonesAreNotBones · 12/04/2023 12:16

Exactly.

Sudeko · 12/04/2023 12:17

The Indian justice system will never unearth the reason for why he did it, one way or the other - it happened several months ago and they haven't bothered. He is obviously above needing to explain his crude behaviour. There is a worldwide media blackout in his favour so the majority of enraged people will move on but we must speak out about how, as a civilisation, this demonstrates how we are edging closer to tolerance of the intolerable.

That video is sickening, I hope they’ve found him. I think that tweet is sarcastic though, it’s posted by a non-Muslim.

OK I didn't look into the account posting the Tweet. I just thought about the bloke filming, he wanted tge taxi driver caught by filming, he was outraged for the girl, got evidence for her and wanted the guy shamed putting his children at risk seeing that happen outside their home and there was the not following the religion, the guy was likely hungry all day fasting on their Holy day, trying to follow his religion then sees that behaviour.

Though that tweet may be sarcastic, every group gets that type of comment for ruining the institution reputation.

Look folks I know it's hard but can you not understand the difference between

Look at this video - it confirms the DL doesn't have dementia

And. It's a possibility that this man has a physical illness contributing to his behaviour

The thing is though, even when AlllsBest asked you if the DL has dementia and if his sexually abusive behaviour towards the boy is due to said hypothetical dementia, the therefore does the DL need to be kept kept away from youngsters, you were silent.

What you and L3 and pickles want is for people to say it’s due to dementia and to shut down the debate.

Not to mention that it brings tourism revenue to the country.

Isn't it sad that there are so few posters who are properly disgusted or enraged about it? The bar is at an all time low but I thought there were a few areas of majority agreement left along the lines of " All pedophilic behaviour should be unreservedly condemned". It has blindsided me in a major way.

Don't recall AllIBest asking me directly tho' I;m not here 24/7 and there are some posters I'm deliberately ignoring - not sure if she's one of them

So for the record, I have no idea if the DL has dementia but wouldn't rule it out

And secondly I would expect him to be kept away from minors and other vulnerable persons in future

Your last para is nonsense and doesn't merit a reply

ananass · 12/04/2023 12:38

@Sudeko it is sickening. Even on this thread there has been precious little concern for the actual victim in this. That little boy’s bewilderment and discomfort is painful to see, and yet he is not being centred at all.

The difference between the first voluntary hug he gives the DL, compared to the stiff, awkward way he allows the DL to hug him after the kiss/tongue suck demand is palpable.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 12/04/2023 12:39

I understand the OP because we ARE programmed to hold certain people in esteem, put them on a pedestal. It isn't right, it makes no sense but that is what happens. We do this with pop stars, film stars and goodness knows even some politicians. The Chris Witty swooning made me feel sick to my stomach; I think he's a clever guy but, just a man. Some posters seem to jellify (putting it kindly) at any man in power and in the headlines.

I saw the footage of the Dalai Llama and just thought what a sleaze. There is no excuse and no apology that could ever be sufficient. The people around him are brainwashed into thinking this is ok. The apology was only because of the outcry.

No person should be on a pedestal, ever. Every person is capable of anything at all.

Not sure why you would ignore Alllsbest, you responded to their other posts. But agreed on your sentence above.

Not sure why you couldn't read the rest of my sentence about ignoring certain posters

I can of course ignore whoever I like and that list of posters can change

GingerbreadBaking · 12/04/2023 12:48

Someone cared enough about this boy to film this interaction and get the footage out in the hope the enablers and DL would be seen for who they are and try and get the boy some justice.

Others are very keen to sweep this under the carpet, like the taxi driver incident.

Note: "Kept away", not held to account or punished. Taken out of sight for the good of the movement.

ananass · 12/04/2023 13:05

Good point, Sudeko. ‘Kept away’ doesn’t go far enough, there needs to be a report to the police and an investigation.

You asked me if ''the DL need to be kept away from youngsters''

And I replied ''I would expect him to be kept away from minors ...............''

You didn't ask me about reporting to the police or investigating

You persistently quote or part-quote me out of context

It's very tedious

ananass · 12/04/2023 13:25

@onirgellep I agreed with you that DL needs to be kept away from minors.

I also agreed with Sudeko that he needs to be held to account i.e. reported to police.

The two are not mutually exclusive!

I have not quoted you out of context once, let alone persistently.

JJF77 · 12/04/2023 13:26

I agree this looks very much like dementia. My FIL had similar behaviors at 76 and he had dementia. That is not in anyway to diminish the situation, but rather to say those responsible for HH should be taking more precautions and not allowing him to be in the public as much. Until more accusations arise, I will not leap to the conclusion that an 87 year old man is a predator. I’m not sure why there isn’t more compassion for the diseases that plague our elderly, they are so mistreated. To not even consider this might be dementia is bizarre to me.

Interesting that you set un as a new user to post that in your own favour. Ego needs, once again.
