Dalai llama ask a child to suck his tongue

Has anyone seen the new video of the Dalai Llama asking a child to suck his tongue. Yes. It sounds bizarre. But it is in the news right now. The video is out there. And the dalai llama is apologising on social media now

Im devastated! I went to see the Dalai Llama in India. He gave a speech on accepting and loving everyone, and that it didn't matter what religion we are. I always told people that it was one of the highlights of my life.

I went through life thinking he was a good person, that he was one of the good ones. To see this today, makes me think oh no is he yet another abuser.

Some people have remarked about this video that sticking your tongue out at someone is a greeting in Tibet.

However - the Dalai Llama kisses the child on the lips in the video, and asks the child to suck his tongue. It does not look right at all.

He has apologised on twitter now.

What do you all think?

@Mangogirl12 pickledandpuzzled could start by not branding people keyboard warriors because they don't want this to fade. As has been said, the sudden language used to defend the Dal's behaviour is disturbing, as is the media blackout. There's many people from India having to backtrack on their immediate thoughts on this, because of death threats. The whole 'i'm busy safeguarding actual victims' was said by Easter Ranson when her friend Jimmy Savile was having accusations thrown at him. Well whoever wants to do that, is free to, it doesn't mean that other people should be shut down.

And to all the dementia theorists, here is an interview with the Dalai Lama in 2020, where he discusses science, including quantum physics.

There is no way this man dementia.

Equally do you get daily reports of the DL life which contradict this?
Thought not

That's a stupid argument. Since we're discussing something that the DL did - something that there is no dispute that he did.

In the absence of daily reports about his life, he will be judged on his actions just like any other person is.

TokyoStories · 12/04/2023 11:40

@ananass

You really have no clue about dementia, do you?

ananass · 12/04/2023 11:43

@TokyoStories I know enough to think dementia was not the reason for why what he did what he did.

onirgellep · 12/04/2023 11:43

@ananass

Oh that's interesting

Please remind me where you did your elderly mental health training

ananass · 12/04/2023 11:46

@onirgellep I don’t need training, I can see the evidence right there in celluloid.

Nail on head!

I would also like to call BS on the post where someone says that 87 year old men are not held to account for their actions by the police. They most certainly are. Anyone committing a driving offence in my town because they're too old to be behind the wheel has the book thrown at them.

The burden is on people saying that dementia causes people to behave like pedophiles to show your level of expertise. Because you're the ones trying to spin what happened.

So no training, as I thought

You're not doing yourself any favours

Bloopsie · 12/04/2023 11:50

Not a word before this event that he has dementia and if he has, his closest aides would knownisntbit irresponsible to wheelbhim out to the company of children if he can have inappropriate out outbursts.

HRTQueen · 12/04/2023 11:51

No one around the DL stepped in
No one around that young boy saved him from the sexual assault

this is the power he has and his actions are not questioned if they were someone would have come to the rescue

if dementia this would be reoccurring not simply how ten DL behaves

he has been caught for all the world to see

onirgellep · 12/04/2023 11:49

I think you’ve got that mixed up. It’s you and your apologist cohort not doing yourselves any favours.

Come back when you’ve done a mental health assessment on the DL in person and had it accredited by a genuine mental health professional.

Ha ha

You must be joking if you think I'm going to lay out my qualifications and expertise for you!

onirgellep · 12/04/2023 11:52

Ha ha

You must be joking if you think I'm going to lay out my qualifications and expertise for you!

And yet you asked me to do the same.

One rule for you and one for others, eh? No wonder you defend the indefensible.

As I said - hypocrisy.

MyopicBunny · 12/04/2023 11:54

Ha ha

Don't flatter yourself - I have no interest in them. I'm just pointing out that your argument is utter nonsense because you're the one trying to spin the narrative of what happened.

How have I 'got it wrong' - it's you admitting you have no training?

onirgellep · 12/04/2023 11:56

It’s very arrogant to ask this after you refused to answer @MyopicBunny about your own training 🤣

MyopicBunny · 12/04/2023 11:59

So now, people need training to be able to conclude that if someone behaves like a pedophile, they probably are. It's like arguing with a 6 year old. 😂

Like I said earlier in the thread, mental gymnastics.

So because of an interview 2-3 years ago, that means he doesn't have dementia today? Are you really serious?
??

Sudeko · 12/04/2023 12:03

It is sad to see the dementia 'experts' using this unproven interpretation to close down debate. It is also unspiritual to belittle the opinions of others because you consider yourself to be an expert. Surely operating out of ego there so lesson not learned.

onirgellep · 12/04/2023 12:05

Look folks I know it's hard but can you not understand the difference between

Look at this video - it confirms the DL doesn't have dementia

And. It's a possibility that this man has a physical illness contributing to his behaviour

ananass · 12/04/2023 12:05

He’s still holding conferences in 2023. So it’s logical to deduct that his cognitive ability is in tact.
