Dalai llama ask a child to suck his tongue

Has anyone seen the new video of the Dalai Llama asking a child to suck his tongue. Yes. It sounds bizarre. But it is in the news right now. The video is out there. And the dalai llama is apologising on social media now

Im devastated! I went to see the Dalai Llama in India. He gave a speech on accepting and loving everyone, and that it didn't matter what religion we are. I always told people that it was one of the highlights of my life.

I went through life thinking he was a good person, that he was one of the good ones. To see this today, makes me think oh no is he yet another abuser.

Some people have remarked about this video that sticking your tongue out at someone is a greeting in Tibet.

However - the Dalai Llama kisses the child on the lips in the video, and asks the child to suck his tongue. It does not look right at all.

He has apologised on twitter now.

What do you all think?

Massive projecting going on by certain posters who have diagnosed somebody based on thin air.

It’s a suggested possibility, no one has said he definitely has dementia.
It’s you who have diagnosed someone based on thin air by rejected all possibilities other than pedophile.

Is it true that the DL received $180,000 a year from 1959 untill 1974 for his own personal use?

Did the DL have a gatekeeper named ‘Venerable’ Lama Tenzin Dhonden? What was his relationship with Allison Mack?

From what I understand there are two types of seminaries in the Catholic Church and becoming a Jeusuit is avoided by those who tell on the others.

What is this supposed to mean?

Mooshamoo · 11/04/2023 19:58

I'm still shook about the Dalai llama. I know I said this already, but I travelled really far away just to see him. I also went to Buddhist centres in Ireland based on his teachings, and read all of his books and practiced what he said.

I thought he was the "goodie" in a world full of corruption.

I've definitely learned a lesson. Not to idolise people blindly.

always the religious/clergy after our kids.

I'd let a drag queen watch my kids over this sicko any day

Come back in five years and reserect this thread and let me know what's so different about the men in your religion to the men in the other religions.

Northernsouloldies · 11/04/2023 20:32

If Joe bloggs kissed a child on the lips and asked do you want to suck my tounge. He'd be arrested and rightly so.

UnsureSchool32 · 11/04/2023 20:33

I have someone I know writing on Facebook that has said:

‘Not keen on these non-contextual misleading posts designed to malign H.H. the Dalai Lama.’

i feel like responding in what context is asking a child to suck your tongue acceptable?

ZombieKettle · 11/04/2023 20:39

Because drag queens can do no wrong, eh?

Dalai llama ask a child to suck his tongue

Yeah, I'm not sure why my post was deleted either? All I said was I met him in 1996 in Macleod Gange, he's the most mischievous/comedy personality.
This whole episode has been massively overblown.
Better?

Massively overblown?

I have encountered perverts as part of my job. There is a particular vibe which they all give off and he definitely gives off that vibe I'm afraid. I accept that there are all sorts of reasons for why men become perverts but the end result is equally damaging for the victim regardless. Yes, he may be a perv because of x,y,z but make no mistake, still a perv. End of.

I know what you mean, I saw the video once and got such a creepy vibe from the DL, the intensity, the unwavering stare and of course the kiss itself and ask for tongue sucking. A pp mentioned the DL is holding on to the boy and I was about to go and have a look but could not bring myself to watch again, it’s that creepy. This is not a man with dementia, this is a man exploiting his position of reverence.

Beware idols with feet of clay.

@Levadia

This whole episode has been massively overblown.

I wonder if you would still say this if it was your little boy he asked to suck his tongue.

“We'd like to ask for some peace and love on this thread - “

Huh?

MyDarlingClementine · 11/04/2023 21:06

Op no one is a goodie!!
Absolutely no one unfortunately.

All religion seems to be based around men who want excuses to control, rape and asbuse women.

pickledandpuzzled · 11/04/2023 21:16

@Levadia if you report your deleted post they'll reinstate it. There are some innocent posts getting caught up in the spam deterrent.

I know people with dementia and suckling a young boys tongue is jot something they think about? Why is it in his brain?

MyopicBunny · 11/04/2023 22:01

I was discussing this with my adult dd.

She said that the fact he did this in public suggests that he may have got away with a lot worse in private. I agree with her.

I am sick of this nonsense that people are peddling about tongues not being sexual.

What's the difference between a French kiss and sucking someone's tongue?

The only time someone has sucked my tongue is during quite intense sex.

BirdChirp · 11/04/2023 22:19

Thank you to the posters who have persevered in trying to give the viewpoint that there is quite possibly dementia involved, you have more patience than me. I've watched the longer clip and he seems completely oblivious that he has just done something massively inappropriate and abusive.

There are some really odd posters on this thread. They gave me the vibes of the vigilantes who graffitied 'paedo' on the house of a paediatrician.

Exactly I can't see how it wouldn't have sexual connotations. I'm no rabid peedo hunter. I know the difference between a paediatrician and a paedophile.

The only odd posters on this thread are people wilfully ignorant of what is in front of their eyes.

Gigantasaurus · 11/04/2023 22:43

Whatever the reasoning behind it - and dementia may well be the reason for his strange behaviour - it was wholly inappropriate. As I said early on in the thread the poor boy not only had this happen to him he had it happen in the full glare of the global media, people like us are discussing it, people are discussing it on bigger platforms than this. The poor lad has lost his anonymity now. He will forever be known as the boy who was abused by HHDL. The whole situation is wrong in its entirety no matter if HHDL has any brain trauma to explain away his behaviour or not.

That poor boy.

MyopicBunny · 11/04/2023 22:43

My FIL died from dementia. It's a cruel disease. And is not something you can diagnose from afar just because you feel better if you can give a spiritual guru the benefit of the doubt.

Gigantasaurus · 11/04/2023 22:47

I've lost a relative to dementia too and as I have also said I think people are struggling to rationalise what has happened so they're putting it all into a box they can understand.

I hate to be that guy, but Buddhists don't believe in a god, so atheism has nothing to do with Buddhists.

awaynboilyurheid · 10/04/2023 16:28

He asked him too, you clearly see it, someone says it makes a change from the Pope , you’d laugh if you didn’t cry, the only part of him having dementia is he’s openly asking him,in front of people, and all this is why I am an atheist!

I hate to be that guy, but Buddhists don't believe in a god, so atheism has nothing to do with Buddhists.
