To not understand how people live like this?

I went round to someones house today and they were sat there in the living room, no window open, all dark and smoking and drinking. It was disgusting. Made my excuses and left. Cant understand how people can live like that? No kids in the house but even so. Some people are so unhealthy?

I am chuckling to myself at how wound up some posters are getting because other people don't open their curtains (or procure nets, even though they are horrible!)

  1. Windows can be opened and curtains remain closed....its amazing, don't worry we can still breathe with our curtains closed.
  2. Daylight is accessible by stepping outside, my curtains are closed now (obviously) but my lounge is so bright I'm pretty much having to squint to type. Most of us don't live in a cellar with no access to light.
  3. My house is always spotlessly clean, I don't live in squalor, have hoarding tendencies or any mental health issues. I grew up in the middle of nowhere and now live in a town. I just don't like people walking past and staring at me as I eat my cereal in my pjs first thing.
  4. People who judge people for having their curtains closed are just nosey buggers that are upset they can't have a good gawp in as they walk by🤣

ok @VanGoghsDog As I’ve said you do what you want to do but none of what I’ve said is ‘made up’. Trying to ridicule another poster who’s part of this discussion as ‘blethering’ is incredibly rude and tells me everything I need to know about what kind of person you are.

I'm glad the op isn't my neighbour.
