'Queen' Camilla

Replitad · 04/04/2023 23:12

I wouldn't have called myself a republican before now but I think the 'Queen' Camilla thing has tipped me over the edge.

Pretty audacious considering their history and I think a lot of the public won't agree. I certainly won't be celebrating or even watching coronation.

We're all demonising Camilla here, and to a lesser extent Diana. Is Charles blameless in all of this? I think not

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 00:20

You said the ex king of Spain had numerous mistresses. True.

What you forgot to write was this part :"the ex king of Spain was made to STEP DOWN as king, because of his numerous mistresses. And other corruption".

That is why he is ex king of Spain.

He was made to step down as king of Spain. because of his mistresses, his bad behaviour and corruption.

Yet here we are fawning over Charles and Camilla like sheep

Is Charles being unfaithful to Camilla?

Or are we referring to an affair that happened 30 years ago that every but the random member of the public are over? The affair that happened whilst St Diana The Wronged was shagging all and sundry and destroying marriages of her own?

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 00:23

I honestly think Camilla will be the one thing that will finally tip the UK public into going for a revolution against the royal family.

The UK public keep putting up with shit from the royal family.

I think having to accept Camilla as queen, may make people finally have a long hard look at why we have a royal family at all.

No, it wasn't.

Oops, sorry, read too quickly thought that bit about the media related to the bollocks about a child in Australia.

Viviennemary · 05/04/2023 00:24

The wool has been pulled over our eyes again. We were told Camilla would be Princess Consort and not Queen.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 05/04/2023 00:24

Vanderlayinfustries · 05/04/2023 00:22

I can only find the queen Elizabeth saying she wished for Camilla to be known as queen consort. Never queen. This was only said iwhildy unwell in the months before her death after years of the wish being princess consort. Never literally said she wants her to be queen once

It’s implied, if you know anything about how titles work, it doesn’t need spelling out.

The statement was being clear about QE2 wanting the word ‘Queen’ used (as opposed to Princess/Duchess etc)

And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service
Queen Consort = Queen. It isn't paraphrasing to say that, it's the way the title has been used for decades. Centuries probably.

Thank you. Baffling people are willing to argue when every single Queen Consort has had the title of Her Majesty Queen (insertname) 😅

Because it's the same thing! And she probably never realised so many people were too ignorant to realise that.

😂😂

Shes one of the most popular Royals and support for the monarchy isn’t anywhere near danger levels.

Oh yes Simon, son of 2 people who hadn’t yet met 🤣 he’s bonkers!

JudgeJ · 05/04/2023 00:26

Didn't Prince Harry write in his book that Camilla had her eye on the long game. He said That Camilla had her eye on the crown.

Harry would know wouldn't he

And Harry is such a relaible source isn't he? He has to keep the St Diana myth going otherwise what else will he be able to angst about?

I just thinn Charles affair with Camilla was so nasty.

Charles and Camilla were MUCH older than Diana.

Charles decided he was entitled to a mistress from the start. He flaunted his affair in dianas face. Leaving gifts to Camilla around. He was nasty.

I had a long term boyfriend for two years . If I was having an affair and leaving presents to my lover lying around and calling my lover telling him "I love you". And if I said to my boyfriend "I refuse to not have a lover". I would be a cruel nasty dickhead.

I wouldn't do that to someone. Charles was beyond cruel to Diana from the get go.

Viviennemary · 05/04/2023 00:24

Wrong. The Queen put out a statement last summer saying it was her wish that Camilla be Queen once Charles ascends the throne

Lunde · 05/04/2023 00:28

I think after all these years some people just need to let it go. Times change and I don't think divorce should be a life sentence - there was infidelity on all side of the marriage so why is Camilla held to a different standard. If we started stripping titles from any members of the RF who got divorced then there would be few left Charles, Andrew, Anne, and Meghan would all lose their titles. It seems quite misogynistic to have one rule for KC and another for Camilla

Camilla has been married to KC for longer that KC and Diana were ever married and Diana has been dead for over 25 years

PurpleAirGuitar · 05/04/2023 00:28

Didn't Prince Harry call Camilla "dangerous" recently.

I haven't read Harry's book yet (I probably will eventually, but it's not that important to me so I am waiting until there's no longer a waiting list for it in the library), but I heard that he also said she looks like a camel. I think we can all agree that objectively she doesn't look like a camel, so he may well be wrong about her being dangerous too.

I don't think she is popular. No one I know likes Camilla.

Okay that is only my friends and family. And colleagues. But not one of them like Camilla.

I wonder is there any up to date popularity polls on Camilla. Where we can see how popular she is with the public

JudgeJ · 05/04/2023 00:29

GrandTheftWalrus · 04/04/2023 23:35

No meant when Charles dies and William becomes king.

In the past the widows of Kings have kept their Queen title, Queen Mary and so on. When G VI died and his daughter became Queen Elizabeth II her mother took the title of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother to avoid confusion with name, Camilla would remain Queen Camilla for the rest of her life

Vanderlayinfustries · 05/04/2023 00:29

You think.Camilla was his only affair?

It's not just him though, you're right, or his generation.

I honestly don't know why we have to bow down to them in this day and age. They're a farce and a facade

I think there is a bit of likeness to a camel actually 😂

And Diana shagged her way through numerous married men, one of whom resulted in rumours about the speculation of her son’s father

People really have been drawn in by the ‘Queen of people’s hearts nonsense’. She was not a nice woman.

Vanderlayinfustries · 05/04/2023 00:31

Anyway I have work in the morning so I can pay my taxes towards this charade do I'll leave the fawning loyal subjects to it.

Phoebo · 05/04/2023 00:31

You do realise pretty much all the monarchs commited adultery, or even worse behaviour?

Rosula · 05/04/2023 00:31

Vanderlayinfustries · 05/04/2023 00:11

I saw speculation in headlines but when you read the story she never said that at all. Stop falling for the press manipulation machine. Unless the queen out out a statement we have no idea. She did not

It's literally there in writing in the Jubilee proclamation published by Buckingham Palace under her authority - "It is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort". Go and look if you don't believe it.

Yeah Charles had many flings. Didn't he have at least three serious affairs at the same time as Camilla. I remember one of the other women talking about it.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 05/04/2023 00:32

Oh yay, let’s be nasty about people’s looks, that’s always OK 🙄
