'Queen' Camilla

Replitad · 04/04/2023 23:12

I wouldn't have called myself a republican before now but I think the 'Queen' Camilla thing has tipped me over the edge.

Pretty audacious considering their history and I think a lot of the public won't agree. I certainly won't be celebrating or even watching coronation.

Favourite bit of this thread was the ‘fact checked’ son living in Australia 🤣

But his adopted granny told him so on his death bed… Fact!

😂

#notmyqueen

Well if a man (who has a well documented loose relationship with the truth) says it, a man who needs salaciousness to flog his book, it must be true 🤣

LittleBearPad · 05/04/2023 12:43

The blue dress angst was entertaining too though. I think Fergie and Kate both wore blue on their engagements? Kate’s was much the nicest!

They have dropped the consort bit to reward her for her loyalty. Shame neither of them showed any loyalty to their previous spouses and their children. The Monarchy should have stopped with the queen.

No, that’s how Consorts are styled, as the many consorts before her were.

It was Maggie Thatcher's favourite shade of blue as well😃'Out of touch blue'.

I couldn't care less what they decide to call themselves and each other. No one should have the right by birth or marriage to be elevated above anyone else. Its archaic and irrational. However, given that for some unfathomable reason the majority of people thinks it's OK, and support some individuals being bowed and scraped to, without any recourse to their merit, competence or ability to 'reign', really, what does it matter who? They can crown the caretakers cat for all I care. Makes as much sense as crowning anyone else.

She is Queen.

Whats the wedding got to do with it? The Queen didn’t attend because as the head of the CofE it was at odds with her role, hence why it happened in a registry office even though his former wife had died.

Charles is now Head of the C of E. It is clearly at odds with the role of Charles and Camilla as King and Queen.

Like it was for Henry VIII? Or Charles II? Or Edward VIII all of whom were endlessly unfaithful. Charles II had at least 12 children by various mistresses.

They had a church blessing after their registry office wedding, which QEII did go to.

You can claim problems but there really aren’t any

MrsOnions248 · 05/04/2023 13:31

I think it speaks volumes about the woman who would love to style herself as “Queen”. Too bad for her, the facts speak for themselves. We’ve all seen who she is.

In my generous moments, I do feel a little bit sorry for her. Imagine forever being compared to Princess Diana, knowing you’ll always come up short.

mamabear715 · 05/04/2023 13:34

She won't be Queen to me.
Not that that will bother her. I wish Queen Elizabeth 2 had gone on forever. We'll never see anyone like her again. :-(

DappledThings · 05/04/2023 13:36

How do you know she loves it? I'm not sure she gets much choice about it. She is Queen, because she's married to the king. It is what it is

OnedayIwillfeelfree · 05/04/2023 13:37

So when Charles dies, and William is King, will Camilla be the Queen Mother?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 05/04/2023 13:38

Oh, for God's sake. The cult of St. Diana the Wronged has shown up. She's dead, and has been for a generation. Get over it.

I don't think they can. They slate Camilla and Charles for having an affair, conveniently forgetting Diana also had affairs. Yet somehow hers were ok?

No.

She would be the Dowager Queen. She’ll just be HM Queen Camilla.

The Queen Mother is a dowager Queen who is also mother of the current monarch.

She will likely not survive Charles and if she does William showed us with Lady Susan the type of treatment Camilla should expect upon his Dad's death.

Noorandapples · 05/04/2023 13:45

Does it really affect you in any way? Do any of them DESERVE to be where they are? Have any of them actually earned the bowing and flag waving and women in tears at the sight of them? Camilla is just as undeserving as the rest of that spoiled family.

Some of the posters on this thread sound like they should be in a bad soap opera.

In another life she would be fag ash lill propping up the bar telling dirty stories supping cheap British sherry. But accident of birth hey and sharp elbows at husband nicking.

KimberleyClark · 05/04/2023 13:58

Camilla seems to the one exception to the Mumsnet rule that it is always the cheating husband to blame for an affair and the OW owes the cheated on wife nothing.

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 14:03

Ugh. I really don't like Camilla.

I remember Diana said once how she didn't understand how she was losing out to a chain smoking, foul mouthed older woman.

Camilla is a fag ash lil.

Delectable · 05/04/2023 14:05

Wedoronron · 04/04/2023 23:25

He wasn't held at gun point to marry Diana. He should have not married her. Or has children with her. That is so hideous when he didn't love her.
If the royal family made him than how fucking awful are they and why are we as country putting them up on a pedestal. Honestly it should be over and anyone supporting them needs to question their moral compass.

Absolutely! The thing with Charles is that he must have his way. He must have his cake and eat it. No way would he loose the opportunity to be king and marry the woman he wanted. Instead he deceived and used people to get his heirs and the throne. Teaches bad principles to everyone. Imagine children being made to celebrate this. Awful. They've spent so much trying to clean her image and brainwash the public.

Phos · 05/04/2023 14:09

She’s Queen. All this crap about she’ll never be Queen, well legally she is and always would have been.

People need to get over bloody Diana who was no saint herself!

twolilacs · 05/04/2023 14:10

Vanderlayinfustries · 05/04/2023 00:11

I saw speculation in headlines but when you read the story she never said that at all. Stop falling for the press manipulation machine. Unless the queen out out a statement we have no idea. She did not

Oh, the irony.

Camilla was a woman. Diana was a child in a woman’s body.
