'Queen' Camilla

Replitad · 04/04/2023 23:12

I wouldn't have called myself a republican before now but I think the 'Queen' Camilla thing has tipped me over the edge.

Pretty audacious considering their history and I think a lot of the public won't agree. I certainly won't be celebrating or even watching coronation.

Posters are confusing the RF with MPs and it’s half hilarious, half embarrassing

I am not confusing the royal family with MPs. We are all well aware that we have a government and a royal family.

I pointed out that the government are voted in, and the royal family are not.

No one should be in a position of privilege because of their birth. That has no place in a democratic and advanced society.

You think he does state visits out of the kindness of his heart?

Not to benefit in any way?

It’s his job. Has been for many decades. HTH.

Again, David Icke, what do YOU think he gets up to on his state visits? What dodgy dealings is he brokering behind closed doors?

It’s funny - decades and tens of thousands of state visits and yet the RF still have no ruling power. They can’t be very good at these dodgy deals of world domination is their goal.

The Queen did not even attend their wedding.
And now Camilla will be Queen.

She is Queen.

Whats the wedding got to do with it? The Queen didn’t attend because as the head of the CofE it was at odds with her role, hence why it happened in a registry office even though his former wife had died.

But what do the RF, a non-ruling entity, be needed to be voted in for? They have no ruling power.

Millions of people are in a position of privilege of their birth.

You say they don't need to be voted in. They represent the UK currently at many levels.

So should that one singular family continue to be there forever and ever, no matter what?

What if in the future, one of the princes is a rapist or a murderer? Should his actions not matter. Should they never be held accountable?

Should one single family continue to be in that position forever no matter what? It's just so fucking ridiculous.

The former wife dying is irrelevant here. He divorced her before he died. The divorce is the reason the Queen did not attend. Charles was not a widow. He was a divorce. You seem to penalise others for conflating issues but live to do it yourself. Didn't you.go to bed ages ago? Or was that a flounce?

No just 2 posters who are talking drivel and don’t understand the basics of titles. Even when presented with evidence.

Have no idea why you thought I meant anti-royalists.

In a democracy people are allowed to question the Hallowed Titles. Just because you're a suck up doesn't mean the rest of us have to be

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 01:37

As annoying as they are.

Part of me does think that Charles should be able to be with the woman he loves at his ancient age.

I saw prince harry say the same thing. He said that even though he didn't like Camilla at all, the feeling that he felt the most over anything else, was that he wanted Charles to be happy.

Seeingadistance · 05/04/2023 01:43

Justcallmebebes · 04/04/2023 23:20

Well I'm no royalist and lean towards republicanism, but I like Camilla. She's more than earned her place IMO and I have no problem with her being Queen Camilla

I agree.

CherryHouse · 05/04/2023 01:47

Totally agree. Unearned privilege. I’m annoyed how much focus my DCs’ schools have put on the coronation. I want my children to have aspirations and work hard. The opposite of hereditary monarchy!!

BignBootiful · 05/04/2023 01:52

Wedoronron · 04/04/2023 23:25

He wasn't held at gun point to marry Diana. He should have not married her. Or has children with her. That is so hideous when he didn't love her.
If the royal family made him than how fucking awful are they and why are we as country putting them up on a pedestal. Honestly it should be over and anyone supporting them needs to question their moral compass.

I agree.

I didn’t hate the design until I saw the lettuce with a face at the bottom. Wtf!?!

key part of our heritage, not a lettuce!

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 02:02

It does stick in my throat a bit that Camilla is queen.

It feels like she played a very long game. And there was a huge campaign to promote her and get people to accept her.

Remember when she was absolutely hated.

The campaign to get the public to accept and like her worked. Apparantly the media campaign fed positive stories about her to the press. So we would begin to accept he and like her

We are all so manipulated.

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 02:05

Did anyone listen to the audio tape where diana talks about Diana confronting Camilla?

Diana said something to camilla like " I know what you two are doing. Dont play me for a fool".

And camilla was angry and said "what are you angry about Diana. You've got everything. You've got two sons. And the world loves you. What more could you want".

And Diana said " I want my husband".

Callixte · 05/04/2023 02:06

And a blue dress- who else wore an iconic blue outfit...?

Monica Lewinsky?

Vanderlayinfustries · 05/04/2023 02:08

OP seemed to ask should she be queen not could she. So is it right she is queen not is it within the rules she is queen.

It is interesting how many so aggressively answered the question in the wrong way.

Not having a go. It genuinely is interesting.

In this country so many always cite what you could get away with rather than what you should get away with.

Well it's allowed so ...

Just an observation generally not on this topic

Mooshamoo · 05/04/2023 02:09

I personally think Charles preferred Camilla over Diana for one main reason.

Diana was glamorous and she overshone Charles. Charles didn't like that. A lot of people have spoke of Charles being jealous of Dianas popularity.

So he went for Camilla who is generally agreed by everyone to have a plain personality and who looks like an old bag. She definitely doesn't outshine him.

If the queen outshines the king , if she is too pretty , too glamourous, too popular, the king does not like that.

Camilla often wears blue. Nothing odd about that at all.

The green Man means rebirth /renewal in nature.

It's not that cool.

I agree. Diana also seemed extremely unhinged! They clearly weren't compatible I don't see how anyone can't see that
