Ok ok!! I know IABU. It’s none of my business. But LOOK AT WHAT HE’S DONE!!

I think in the ‘business’ it’s called ‘doing a Zak Efron’.

He had a nice face, now he reminds me of the guy from Lazy town

@zerofucksgiven ~ This really made me giggle 😂

KateAusten · 20/03/2023 22:00

Hopefully he can get a refund

And gossiping on a chatboard achieves this laudable aim how exactly?

Most parents would be aghast at their children having unnecessary surgery done in the name of improvement. They don't necessarily vent their spleens impotently on social media. It is social media that is part of the problem - a huge part as it's given a platform to all.

Still, as long as some posters can enjoy themselves cackling away at a real person's looks.

The discussion is surgery not looks per se. He’s a perfectly nice looking you man, still is, it’s just a terrible shame he’s resorted to surgery.

LuvSmallDogs · 20/03/2023 22:05

Looks like he's done away with buccal fat. I saw a YT video by a plastic surgeon saying he didn't like the procedure because once removed the fat pad doesn't replenish itself. So when a young person gets rid of the buccal fat and then loses more facial fat to aging, it could make them look incredibly gaunt.

Also, I see no problem discussing the bizarre shit being fed to us as "normal" by celebrities cutting themselves up out of vanity and/or fear for their careers.

AngeloMysterioso · 20/03/2023 22:08

Harry has obviously done phenomenally well since 1D but he and Zayn were always the most talented of the bunch, and he has completely changed his sound and image to get there.

Niall’s doing alright for himself in the sort of acoustic-y, quite chilled out genre.

Zayn was doing well with the rnb stuff, until the drugs took over. No idea what he’s up to now, his last album didn’t really do much and his label dropped him.

Liam… I dunno, he’s an ok singer but he and Louis just never found a their niche in music post 1D did they? They’ve both done some generic pop stuff but their voices aren’t good or unique enough for them to stand out doing that in an industry overflowing with white male 20-30 something solo pop singers. Louis in particular has really already gone further than his lack level of talent should ever have allowed, but if he’s managed to convert his pre-existing fame into an attempt at an acting career then good luck to him. Hope he’s a better actor than he is a singer! But Liam just seems a bit lost.

Octopusmittens · 20/03/2023 22:08

Maybe he told the surgeon he wanted to look more like Harry, but the surgeon thought he meant Hamlin.

Can they replace buccal fat if people change their minds in the future? Maybe with fat from somewhere else or more fillers I suppose. It's a slippery slope.

Apparently not, no.

Surgeries seem to be getting more extreme. I agree it's worrying.

OldFan · 20/03/2023 22:14

IDK I think it looks quite good TBH. He looks quite plain/normal in the pic on the right. The one on the left after fillers or whatever, gives him the illusion of striking bone structure.

VisitationRights · 20/03/2023 22:36

Doing a Zac Efron? You mean get in an accident that shattered his lower jaw and nearly die? YABU.

I’m happy to donate some fat to Liam or anyone else who wants some.
I’ve got plenty to spare!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/03/2023 22:38

I think he's lost some weight and had a bit of Botox, I don't think it's that's drastic tbh.

Anothernewname13 · 20/03/2023 22:41

Still laughing at the comment at the start about him looking like the guy from lazy town 🤣 he so does!

Schmutter · 20/03/2023 22:42

I’m 51. My cheeks have done this with age. I’m now going to think it’s a good thing 😬

MyMumsOnMN · 20/03/2023 21:00

Wow, how is it okay to moan about men's looks but everyone cries when someone says something bad about a woman's appearance?

Yes, he's probably had work done but who cares?

From the evidence on this thread, I would say they are deemed equally unacceptable.

I feel a bit sorry for Liam Payne because he became very famous very young but hasn't got a great deal of media savvy.

TheMarzipanDildo · 20/03/2023 22:46

unacceptable to some. *

Handsnotwands · 20/03/2023 22:47

Remember how fucking out there is was when Michael Jackson started remodelling his face? It was bizarre and now it’s totally everyday and everywhere. Crazy times

LemonSwan · 20/03/2023 22:47

Are we sure he’s not just sucking his cheeks in and doing a bit of a pucker 🤣

CherryHouse · 20/03/2023 22:48

He doesn’t look like himself any longer. Shame, as he was cuter before.

QuintanaRoo · 20/03/2023 22:49

I thought it was Harry for a minute

HoleyShit · 20/03/2023 22:59

Oh dear. Not a good look.

Siameasy · 20/03/2023 23:03

He looks odd and generally I find the fillers look really disconcerting.
Watch an old TOTP video and look at the audience. They all look normal.
Then look at these plastic faces and you will start to feel a bit seasick.
These fillers are messing with my mind. I’m struggling with non-verbals with some frozen faces now.

BloomForever · 20/03/2023 23:10

It's a pap shot, there will be hundreds from different angles...one picture doesn't really say anything. It's not completely drastic, but honestly, does it offend or worry anyone that doesn't know him? He might be mortified thinking he looks horrible now. I'm assuming tabloids will pick up he's looking different. I'd be so mortified as a woman if I was ripped to shreds about my looks and speculation about what surgery I'd had done. I don't know him, but I don't know that he was an arsehole before, so he's probably not now 🤔

Highdaysandholidays1 · 20/03/2023 23:12

Him- I feel sorry for him, he's trying to stay in the public eye and be someone. I think it's fine to discuss it, he's deliberately created this look and then gone to a celeb event to show it off- if he didn't want anyone to see his face then he could stay home and get out of the industry, he must be reasonably well off.

The surgeons who think it's ok to do this type of surgery, I cannot understand how they can live with themselves and their work, I think there are even worse examples (Jessica whatever her name is who had 150 odd surgeries who used to be Ken the Barbie Doll, Katie Price)- but honestly, how can they sleep at night doing such unnecessary procedures on people who are so young when the effects long-term are unknown or who have body dysmorphia. Awful, ethics free zone.

Probably because I once read a similar article, several articles have come up on my fb feed on people who have had extreme facial tattoos. (They are heavily tattooed elsewhere as well) Some have had implants and one man had part of his nose removed. I can't understand why anyone would be prepared to do that, for no medical reason. And in almost all cases I think the people seem vulnerable, or have psychological problems and having another procedure or tattoo is their way of dealing with it

SockGoddess · 20/03/2023 23:35

I do think that when people go too far down the surgery route they must lose the ability to see clearly what they look like and how unrecognisable they become, and just keep seeking more tweaks to “fix” things they don’t like. Nothing is ever perfect, so once you start making changes and see that as an option, then there will always be something else to “correct”.

I’m not his no 1 fan especially but he looked so much better before. Looking real and natural is appealing despite “imperfections” - looking like you’ve rearranged bits of your face is alarming. I think this about lots of women who do it too.
