Ok ok!! I know IABU. It’s none of my business. But LOOK AT WHAT HE’S DONE!!

I think in the ‘business’ it’s called ‘doing a Zak Efron’.

What a shame, the toxicity of his industry and the surrounding by money-grabbing enablers has warped his mind to the point that he’s done that to his face. No one is immune from that. It’s heinous.

This kind of thing would make me worry for dc if in the industry. It would be sad to see them alter their faces like this

PsychoCandy23 · 20/03/2023 21:20

I’m in my mid 40s. So he just looks very young to me! He’s had a tiny tweak, possibly. But he’s hardly Katie Price.

TeaAndTattoos · 20/03/2023 21:21

YANBU I’m not sure what he’s done to his face but he looks fucking ridiculous he reminds me of Trey Parker from Team
America.

Mitchumforthewin · 20/03/2023 21:22

We absolutely SHOULD be discussing this. It shouldn’t be the norm to just say nothing about people pumping their faces full of shit, like it’s perfectly ok. It’s not. It’s barbaric, and he looks bloody awful. How have we got to a place where people do this to themselves in an attempt to look better?

Badger1970 · 20/03/2023 21:24

I do worry what these people are going to look like in 20 years time when all those chemicals have broken up under their skin... I can see it being a massive scandal in years to come.

Fizbosshoes · 20/03/2023 21:25

I don't want to be unkind about people's choices and I wouldn't criticise a person looks even if that is not my personal preference (there are lots of mean and unneccesary comments about Dani from the Apprentice, lips, on those threads)
But I do worry for my 16 year old DD that almost every photo she'll be looking at of celebrities and influencers is either filtered, airbrushed or they've had fillers. That is as normal as make up. Even out and about in RL, so many young women have clearly had lip fillers and other procedures.
And the more demand for it there is, the risk that some of the places offering these procedures will not meet medical/professional standards. And what are the long term effects. If you want lip filler now, but decide in 5 years you don't, will ones lips shrink back and go back to how they were? (I have no idea how elastic they are)

MaidOfSteel · 20/03/2023 21:25

I think that seeing people still in their 20s is only going to normalise it, and that's quit disturbing.

I don't understand why people aren't more concerned that youngsters are being drawto in to thinking is is something they need to do.

Chocolatetadpole · 20/03/2023 21:25

We really don't need to talk about anyone's face. YABU.

choccytime · 20/03/2023 21:25

Its not weight loss and he looks bloody terrible

Whywere · 20/03/2023 21:27

77% not being unreasonable.

I hate that my children are growing up in a world where this is normalised to the extent that it’s now unusual to see a person in the media with their natural features.

This! I mean there has always been unrealistic beauty ideals that we women have tried and mostly failed to live up to, and it's been incredibly damaging to generations of young women's mental health. But this accessibility to procedures that completely alter people's faces and not always in a positive way is worrying. I would be deeply depressed if for example my daughters had boob jobs and no degrees

MeinKraft · 20/03/2023 21:32

Somebody needs to stop the surgeons who are carrying out procedures like this on perfectly health young people. The buccal fat removal is ridiculous. It's the fat that makes you look young and lovely.

But speaking of 1D bandmates looks changing, does anyone think Harry is starting to look like Louis as he ages?! It's the oddest thing.

3luckystars · 20/03/2023 21:37

Well I loved Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer at the time. I don’t think he had any work done though, he just had the living dead look.

I also think that people will look back at this carry on in disbelief. Maybe as a previous poster said, it will be a scandal in the future. Getting a face lift is nothing new but surgery procedures are getting more extreme and it isn’t just once, it’s several. And sometimes several at a time, and many times over.

Has he had that awful cheek fat removal?

No he's had jaw line fillers probably

OnTheThames · 20/03/2023 21:39

What is the point of by cal fat removal? If you google images of celebs who have it done they all, without exception, look a bit odd and years older after having it done. I don’t get it. Weird trend.

OnTheThames · 20/03/2023 21:39

buccal

MissMaple82 · 20/03/2023 21:40

Whywere · 20/03/2023 19:55

Honestly - I do think it’s important to point out that this is weird behaviour. Otherwise plastic surgery becomes normalised along with all the issues it brings.

Agreed

This also 👌

But I would like to state openly and publicly that yes, I sneer at people doing this sort of shit to their faces.

I don't want to be coy and pretend 'nice' & 'kind' by speaking in generalities. I want it to be known that anyone who thinks that this mutilation is an improvement is deluding themselves and that I also think that avoiding pointing this out so that the person is not made miserable or whatever is NOT helping them.

There is too much fear of speaking out. This is the message our children are receiving - it is OK to make yourself look like an insect. It is OK and desirable to hate your body and want to cut bits off and make your lips look like a blow up doll. It is Bad to want to love yourself as you are, or speak your mind or put your head above the parapet.

You need to Be Kind - that is, you need to shut the fuck up and you need to be kept permanently Anxious in case anyone sees you say or do the Wrong Thing.

And gossiping on a chatboard achieves this laudable aim how exactly?

Most parents would be aghast at their children having unnecessary surgery done in the name of improvement. They don't necessarily vent their spleens impotently on social media. It is social media that is part of the problem - a huge part as it's given a platform to all.

Still, as long as some posters can enjoy themselves cackling away at a real person's looks.

Has he had that awful cheek fat removal?

that's what I thought!
Messing around with the fat pads in your face seems like a very bad idea to me!

ThePoshUns · 20/03/2023 21:50

Botheredland · 20/03/2023 21:18

I have been accussed of having had buccal fat removal...I haven't, I've just breastfed for 2 years and not been able to gain weight although I ate and ate and ate and I've still not gained managed to gain much weight back on my face...
My point is, he may well have just lost weight from his face..no doubt he has had some botox etc but the cheeks could just be down to weight loss

I don't think he's been breastfeeding

3luckystars · 20/03/2023 21:52

Well I thought that too, but we just don’t know for sure.

Wombatbum · 20/03/2023 21:55

specialkallday · 20/03/2023 19:43

Oh dear, what a shame, shows the beginnings of a man who has mental health problems and will likely become an alcoholic :-/

I do feel bad for most of One D who haven't gone on to be as famous at Harry Styles, it must be hard.

How nice 🙄
