To think we need to discuss Liam Payne’s face

Ok ok!! I know IABU. It’s none of my business. But LOOK AT WHAT HE’S DONE!!

I think in the ‘business’ it’s called ‘doing a Zak Efron’.

Looks like he's had Mandibular Angle Implants, as well as buccal fat removal. Quite an unnatural and severe look. Not an improvement, in my opinion.

whirlyhead · 20/03/2023 20:32

I have no idea who he is. Also, which is the before and which is the after picture?? Can’t see much difference to be honest.

Do you have eyes?

AllOfThemWitches · 20/03/2023 20:52

I don't think cosmetic surgery necessarily equals severe mental health concerns. There is obviously a link for some people but it's just super accessible now, especially with money. Look how many mere mortals get botox and lip fillers.

Disclaimer: I realise botox isn't cosmetic surgery but it's not too far off.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 20/03/2023 20:53

Can they replace buccal fat if people change their minds in the future? Maybe with fat from somewhere else or more fillers I suppose. It's a slippery slope.

Schmutter · 20/03/2023 20:53

He looks OK to me. He looked fine before, but it's hardly drastic.

excelledyourself · 20/03/2023 20:55

Yes, OP. Your initial post showed so much concern for LP and asked some really pertinent and thought provoking questions on the subject of plastic surgery. I'm sure it has been really influential in making others reconsider.

3peassuit · 20/03/2023 20:56

He looks attractive in both pictures but it’s sad when young people feel the need to tamper with their perfect faces. I wish there was more regulation in the cosmetic surgery industry.

MarshaBradyo · 20/03/2023 20:57

I don’t actually know who he is, work done yes

Justforlaffs · 20/03/2023 20:57

PeekAtYou · 20/03/2023 19:45

Robbie Rotten or Sportacus?

Omg - this is exactly what I was going to say!!

Why do people do this? It's so sad.

Crazyducklady · 20/03/2023 20:58

premicrois · 20/03/2023 19:37

YABU. We don't need to discuss anyone's face.

Exactly.
Why anyone’s face has any bearings on anything is beyond me.

MyMumsOnMN · 20/03/2023 21:00

Wow, how is it okay to moan about men's looks but everyone cries when someone says something bad about a woman's appearance?

Yes, he's probably had work done but who cares?

MultipleVeganPies · 20/03/2023 21:02

Ah what a shame, he looked so nice before, there was no need for this

Haffiana · 20/03/2023 21:03

But I would like to state openly and publicly that yes, I sneer at people doing this sort of shit to their faces.

I don't want to be coy and pretend 'nice' & 'kind' by speaking in generalities. I want it to be known that anyone who thinks that this mutilation is an improvement is deluding themselves and that I also think that avoiding pointing this out so that the person is not made miserable or whatever is NOT helping them.

There is too much fear of speaking out. This is the message our children are receiving - it is OK to make yourself look like an insect. It is OK and desirable to hate your body and want to cut bits off and make your lips look like a blow up doll. It is Bad to want to love yourself as you are, or speak your mind or put your head above the parapet.

You need to Be Kind - that is, you need to shut the fuck up and you need to be kept permanently Anxious in case anyone sees you say or do the Wrong Thing.

What a ridiculous comment.

If you seriously think that men are held up to the same scrutiny as women with regards to their looks and well...just about anything really, you are seriously delusional.

Stormydanielss · 20/03/2023 21:06

he always looks and sounds like he's coked up
I think he may be a bit lost/trying to hard and not getting anywhere
Must feel pretty shit when Harry Is stratospheric

Clarabe1 · 20/03/2023 21:08

I think it’s his face and his business but it does raise wider questions, particularly if younger people are trying to look like their filtered versions. There is nothing wrong with cosmetic surgery if you have a specific aim, ie remove bump from nose, reduce eyebags etc but Liam seems to have changed his whole face, I preferred the old one. It’s a slippery slope and rarely brings happiness- unless there is a specific realistic aim.

*I have seen this, she looks ridiculous, how can any woman want to do this to her body ?

Her face is totally stretched, her belly button isn’t even in a vaguely natural position and those implants!!! OMG.

She was really pretty before all the surgery.

She's gone too far. Her poor face, she could be late 50s for all I know now. She's ruined her face.

Just awful looking even wanting to look like a grotesque sex doll must be some sort of mental illness. Does she think men find it attractive?

OMG she looks terrible.

Her current look is horrific , monstrous boobs and her face is ruined by surgery.
The breasts are awful- in every way but so are the bum implants and the tattoos and what she has done to her face.*

Literally just from a couple of pages on a Katie Price thread. People are more than happy to talk about women in the same way (if not far more harshly).

Fizbosshoes · 20/03/2023 21:08

Plastic surgery and procedures seem to have become as mainstream as plucking your eyebrows or wearing make up.
I know there's an argument that it's that person's business, if it makes them feel good etc then what's the issue.
I'm probably hugely old fashioned but if you had a problem or a mishap (or even just a fashion disaster) with make up/hair cut etc, it was temporary and the worst that could happen was that it might be embarrassing for a limited period of time. Anything that involves injections, or surgeries has potential to cause infection if it goes wrong, or allergic reaction, or other damage. The risks seem much higher. I'm pretty sure Linda Evangelista had a facial procedure that went drastically wrong - and that's someone who could afford cutting edge type treatment, I'm pretty sure there would be even more issues at the cheaper end of the market.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/03/2023 21:09

Such a shame, he looks very unnatural now. So young to mess about with your face like that.

Mirabai · 20/03/2023 21:12

Crazyducklady · 20/03/2023 20:58

Exactly.

So when more and more people around us have cosmetic surgery and change their appearance - we don’t discuss this at all? Really?

GrinAndVomit · 20/03/2023 21:13

I hate that my children are growing up in a world where this is normalised to the extent that it’s now unusual to see a person in the media with their natural features.

tillytoodles1 · 20/03/2023 21:13

He looked better before. I hate fillers, they make your face look like a sponge. I watched the Friends reunion, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox looked like their faces were made of play dough.

Fucking Amen to this.

Disfiguring yourself is not okay. This procedure is permanent, you are removing fat that goes anyway with age...what will he look like at 50?

Being honest IS being kind.

The saddest person I saw recently was a new mum at my gym. The baby was about a week old. Her face was filled with botox & filler. Plastered in makeup with duck lips to boot. I'm sure she was beautiful without all that crap in and on her face.....why is bad to want young women & men to be able to love themselves without doing all that?

GyozaGuiting · 20/03/2023 21:17

Thing is, people are saying he looked great, he’s obviously going through a tough time and the procedures don’t look great.
Plenty of people on here are showing concern about him and rightly highlighting the problem with procedures and the culture surrounding it.
I think it’s an important discussion.

Botheredland · 20/03/2023 21:18

I have been accussed of having had buccal fat removal...I haven't, I've just breastfed for 2 years and not been able to gain weight although I ate and ate and ate and I've still not gained managed to gain much weight back on my face...
My point is, he may well have just lost weight from his face..no doubt he has had some botox etc but the cheeks could just be down to weight loss
