No agenda I’m just interested as Kier is on LBC this morning…

For me it’s the TWAW magical thinking, and not being convinced they would prioritise average earners, which I want to happen.

OP posts:
SettlingForAnotherMuffin · 06/03/2023 09:37

Their stance on TWAW. Their refusal to standard up for women's rights and to support Rosie Duffield properly. Their anti semitism in the past which I do not believe for a second has been stamped out, and the anti semites will just come crawling out again from under their rocks. Their attack on aspiration and punishment of anyone who has achieved anything financially. Kier Stamer's weakness.

But I am not that fond of the Tories either so it's all a bit of a shit show.

CoinsinaJar · 06/03/2023 09:37

They are totally un-electable IMO. The idea of a government run by Kier and co makes my blood run cold.

BramleyAppleHotCrossBun · 06/03/2023 09:37

ChickenDhansak82 · 06/03/2023 09:36

Their lack of common sense over where money comes from and spending too much for the now and not thinking about future finances of the UK.

I don't trust them to reward those who work really hard for a living. The whole benefits system in this country has long been a joke, and I want to see a government who will support those who work hard.

I dislike the attitude of expecting something for nothing and this needs to be changed. The benefits system was brought in to help those desperately in need and those who received it were grateful for the help. It has now become a lifestyle choice and a way of life which is awful.

That's an awful lot of words to say "I'm a poor-people hating Tory" on a thread about Labour.

FabledEasterEgg · 06/03/2023 09:38

Their refusal to protect women’s rights.
As opposed to the Tories, who want to erode everyone’s rights.

neverendinglauaundry · 06/03/2023 09:38

I will vote for them. Starmer is alright. TWAW is not a big thing for me either way really. I think Mumsnet is a bit skewed on that

MandyMotherOfBrian · 06/03/2023 09:38

Some of the things already mentioned but on a more local level, the last GE I voted in there was a choice between the incumbent Tory who has been the MP for the last nine hundred years (or at least it feels like it, it’s a pretty safe seat 🙄!) who has lived here all that time, and despite being a Tory does do a lot for the local constituents and for the local area, the Green Party whose candidate is also local and very vocal and we do have some pretty significant environmental issues here, or the Labour Party candidate that had been shipped in, never heard of them and when asked 20 questions about the local area could only answer 3 - most people could have had a good stab at guessing the answers and done better. So that was a no. Certainly felt like given the nature of the seat the Labour Party didn’t give a toss about standing a serious candidate here.

BramleyAppleHotCrossBun · 06/03/2023 09:36

I've come to the conclusion that Keir is deliberately not announcing much policy, because recent history shows the Tories steal it and pretend it was their idea. I'd keep schtum until an election too...

He’s said a fair bit so fair. Not that great but it is out there

lipstickwoman · 06/03/2023 09:38

Starmer.

MarshaBradyo · 06/03/2023 09:39

Far..

Madamecastafiore · 06/03/2023 09:39

Just had a Labour councillor ask if they can post on our village Facebook page. I said no as it's against the rules and asked how she stood on TWANW. She didn't even know there was an issue. I despair.

MrsSkylerWhite · 06/03/2023 09:40

Previously, Corbyn and McDonnel. Next time, nothing.

rioseco · 06/03/2023 09:40

The fact that so many people can't spell his name....Grin

Pootleplum · 06/03/2023 09:41

Women's rights
Treatment of Rosie Duffield
Lack of talent in shadow cabinet
History of anti semitism

LimeCheesecake · 06/03/2023 09:42

Corbyn put me off and Keirs stand of politely telling him to fuck off has warmed me to the idea it’s not just words.

their stance on trans issues has been annoying - but it does seem that they’ve at least realised after the Scottish mess that it’s a bit more complex, so now isn’t bad enough to swing my vote.

I’m probably going to vote Lib Dem though - because I live in a Tory safe seat and the Lib Dem’s came second last time. —and our smug MP pissed me off with their “Dominic Cummings did nothing wrong” public statements and I’m not one to forget—

I thought he was called Zakir for ages as the BBC kept saying ‘zakir Starmer’ Grin

Hoppinggreen · 06/03/2023 09:42

Womens rights
The fact that a Labour candidate knocked on my door a couple of years ago and opened with “I don’t suppose you are going to vote Labour living in a house like this” (certainly NOT a mansion or anything)
I dislike the person who will probably be their candidate here
Keir Starmers wish washy 5 pillars nonsense which have no substance at all

Not voting Conservative either though as they are all bastards

SedentaryCat · 06/03/2023 09:42

What stops me voting Labour...the fact that if I don't vote Lib Dem the Tory candidate will get in. Two horse race here.

pawz · 06/03/2023 09:44

Not a fan of Starmer personally, but the main reasons are more TWAW / antisemitism / world views on people who want to do well / general disagreement on some of the schools / benefits / business policies at the last election.

I like to do those anonymous quizzes with all of the policies in to see what I agree with when it's taken out of the context of Tory / Labour / Green etc and I never seem to agree with more one or two labour ones! Personally I'm in a safe Tory seat and do vote conservative, my local MP is fab and does a lot of good locally.

GobbieMaggie · 06/03/2023 09:44

Starmer, Lammy and Raynor. That's the reason.

kikisparks · 06/03/2023 09:44

I want Scotland to be independent, and I want to keep the tories out and SNP is a better vote for that.

beguilingeyes · 06/03/2023 09:44

Nothing would stop me. I live in a very safe Labour seat (Stella Creasy) so I don't think it makes much difference but even so.
I think I hate this government more than I hated Thatcher's. She was an evil woman but even she didn't give millions to her mates and try and give her father a knighthood (Boris's latest wheeze).
The magic money tree is ok if the Tories are using it? (Michelle Mone, Dido Harding and other recipients of the VIP lane).

kitsuneghost · 06/03/2023 09:44

I am not convinced they will not screw over middle income with no kids in order to give more to people on benefits and families.
I know we are the ignored middle with conservative but we are likely to be the cash cow middle for labour.

This, basically.

I won't vote Tory but I can't vote Labour right now.

hay5689 · 06/03/2023 09:46

I'm Welsh and have lived under a Welsh Labour government all my adult life and don't wish a labour uk government on anyone based on what we have here.

hellsbells99 · 06/03/2023 09:46

The lack of policies
