To be getting really pissed off with this

Someone keeps ordering deliveroo food to this house. We haven’t ordered anything and don’t use Deliveroo. It’s been happening every day for the past few weeks, sometimes multiple times a day. I’m starting to get really annoyed. If we are not in/don’t answer the door then the deliveroo driver just leaves it outside right outside in front of the door. Sometimes multiple bags as the orders have been that big. Someone is obviously doing it to us but no idea who. The drivers can’t tell us the phone number of the Deliveroo account that is making these orders due to data protection, I have asked them multiple times when they knock on the door. What do I do? Aibu to be getting really pissed off with this?

If this is the case there is someone with dementia somewhere who is starving hungry! I don't think that's what's going on. It sounds more deliberate to me.

No, I did say 'this' as in 'this kind of thing' - but probably not in OP's specific case!

Free food what’s the problem?

It's creepy?

ChopSuey2 · 26/02/2023 04:32

As @LuluLehman said, this is a common means of stalking. I'd go to the police but possibly call the National Stalking Helpline first because police don't always see these kinds of unwanted acts as stalking so it would be good to chat it through with them before you report.

I don't always get a code for deliveroo either. And they leave with the food if you are not stood on the street.

This kinda sounds like some thing a young teenager would do. Check your bank accounts, and try to remember when it started. Has any of your kids friends stayed over? Do your family know any deliveroo drivers? Like people have said talk to deliveroo and the police. I would not want to eat it or answer the door for it.

kateandme · 26/02/2023 06:58

have you tried messaging them over social media. sometimes the person running there socials are more helpful than via emial or phone.
if not phone costemer services and ask to speak to manager. if they cant tell you anything they can see who is doing the ordering and surely to hell they can then see this consistancy is bizarre and besides the point your at this adress so they are delviering to the wrong adress every time. this is what rhey can see by quick look up.
they have responsibility then to contact said consumer and ask whats going on. from there on in it is their problem. thye are delivering goods to your house which isnt something youve ordered.
dfs isnt going to keep delivering sofas to a house no matter how many orders they get.theyd look into it. same should apply here.

Sounds like someone trying to play with your mind (and with too much time on their hands). It would make me quite uncomfortable worrying if it might escalate.

dawngreen · 26/02/2023 08:11

Teenager with a crush using a cloned card or some one who has a issue with you or some one in your family. Can you show the receipt off the bag to the police?

Sunshinealldayandnow · 26/02/2023 20:08

6 more deliveries today. 2 of which were from a local takeaway and we were expected to give the driver the money, I didn’t pay him as we didn’t order it.

OP posts:
Sunshinealldayandnow · 26/02/2023 20:08

Yes, on the receipts it is the same name ever time

OP posts:
Sunshinealldayandnow · 26/02/2023 20:13

I have asked on local Facebook groups and no one knows anyone with the name that is on the receipts.

OP posts:
Sunshinealldayandnow · 26/02/2023 20:14

I’ve also spoken to Deliveroo and apparently they can’t do anything

Ask Deliveroo to ban your address. Surely they can? As they must have problem customers who constantly claim food undelivered etc to get refunds, who then get banned?

I thought this. They have to be able to ban addresses.

I'd contact them and tell them if they don't resolve it their end you'll seek legal advice.

dawngreen · 26/02/2023 20:33

Deliveroo are useless all they care about is the money. You need to speak to the police, and gave them the receipts with the name on and the credit card details they can then speak to deliveroo, and demand they give the details to them. Look for the name in the phone book or local register if its listed. They are messing with you, and you need to stop it.

JMSA · 26/02/2023 20:49

You've not eaten any of it. That's a colossal waste of food. What in earth are you doing with it all, surely not just chucking it in the bin?

You're seriously blaming the OP for this?!

dawngreen · 26/02/2023 20:49

I don't get why some one would pay them selves unless its a stolen card they are using. Its a lot of money to spend if its a crush So why are they ordering food that you have to pay for now?

DoesItMakeYouFeelBetter · 26/02/2023 21:04

That’s really odd, and that would totally freak me out too. The takeaways that came today and needed to be paid for, do they have a phone number for the person who ordered? It might be worth asking.

newforest1 · 26/02/2023 21:18

Very strange

IDontWantToBeAPie · 26/02/2023 21:20

Just speak to Deliveroo and ask your address to be blacklisted. My DP works for them (high up not a driver) and theyd rather you just spoke to them

dawngreen · 26/02/2023 21:21

That's a good point @DoesItMakeYouFeelBetter yeah go and speak to the 2 takeaways, and ask if they can give you or the police any info.

dawngreen · 26/02/2023 21:22

She has already spoken to deliveroo, and they won't do any thing @IDontWantToBeAPie

Ameanstreakamilewide · 26/02/2023 21:25

Sunshinealldayandnow · 25/02/2023 17:28

Once the person placed so many orders at once that their were 3 drivers outside all at the same time

Sure, Jan.

dawngreen · 26/02/2023 21:25

Make sure you shred any thing important that go's in your bin.

pigsinoodies · 26/02/2023 21:32

Absolute rubbish. Why is anybody engaging with this?
