To be getting really pissed off with this

Someone keeps ordering deliveroo food to this house. We haven’t ordered anything and don’t use Deliveroo. It’s been happening every day for the past few weeks, sometimes multiple times a day. I’m starting to get really annoyed. If we are not in/don’t answer the door then the deliveroo driver just leaves it outside right outside in front of the door. Sometimes multiple bags as the orders have been that big. Someone is obviously doing it to us but no idea who. The drivers can’t tell us the phone number of the Deliveroo account that is making these orders due to data protection, I have asked them multiple times when they knock on the door. What do I do? Aibu to be getting really pissed off with this?

Have you asked been if its definitely for your house?

Not sure if it's possible but could you contact deliveroo and blacklist your house?

I'm not saying eat it at midnight or keep the kids up but throwing it all away is bonkers. The food is from restaurants not a random stranger its not going to make her sick and surely some of it could be eaten.

Yes its weird but th person ordering it is most likely looking for a reaction so getting on with it or just ignoring the issue is the best option. Equally I'm sure if the OP put a sign up on her door alerting drivers then they wouldn't knock or leave the food.

Having to take the time to deal with all the extra food is creating a reaction from the OP. If it just goes straight in the bin there is no reaction. I don't like waste either but all this 'omg you aren't throwing it away are you?!' when OP is experiencing multiple late night deliveries from a stranger is bonkers. OP may well have a fridge full of food she has already meal planned and bought. It's giving OP work to do if she has to process the food further than just putting it in the bin.

Really weird. Have you upset anyone recently?

Upset anyone so much that they keep paying for food to be delivered 😬

ny20005 · 25/02/2023 17:37

Have you contacted the restaurants, rather than Deliveroo ?

Laiste · 25/02/2023 17:42

What's the name?

Have you googled it/face booked it?

Local face book site if you've got one. Ask on there.

Call deliveroo and tell them what's going on?

I can’t believe some posters think the OP has any responsibility to make sure the food isn’t wasted. Frankly it’s a very odd situation and most rational people would want it sorted. I’d contact Deliveroo head office and ask what they can do to stop it happening. It’s verging on harassment.

deplorabelle · 25/02/2023 17:46

I wonder if the person doing it has mental health problems? People with dementia sometimes obsessively buy things and put them in cupboards, so maybe someone who is seriously mentally unwell is ordering to an address they were previously associated with and then not keeping track of the orders enough to notice they aren't receiving them?? That's all I can think of.

pigsinoodies · 25/02/2023 17:47

If this happened at all it only happened once.

Emmamoo89 · 25/02/2023 17:48

I'd eat it

Bigbus · 25/02/2023 17:48

OP I would consider contacting the police on the non-emergency number. I work in mental health and have had some training regarding stalking and harassment. This person is spending a huge amount of money and time sending you food you don’t want and didn’t ask for. They appear to be deliberately targeting you. It’s not funny, it’s harassment and this sort of behaviour can escalate.

R0ckets · 25/02/2023 17:23

You've not eaten any of it. Shock That's a colossal waste of food. What in earth are you doing with it all, surely not just chucking it in the bin?

The OP is not responsible for the waste of food.

I would have no interest in eating food someone else ordered, and I’d refuse to take the order from the delivery person.

OP contact Deliveroo and advise them you do not use their service and not to deliver any orders to your address.

I'm with you OP. Don't know why everyone is acting like this isn't a big deal. I'd find this really unsettling.

Me too

OnaBegonia · 25/02/2023 17:51

Have you tried FB search the name? contact Deliveroo direct and have them remove your address from the account.

mel71 · 25/02/2023 17:52

I am wondering if this is to do with card fraud. When I had my card cloned they ordered three takeaways in quick succession to ‘test’ my card. They obviously can't have it delivered to their address - so get it delivered elsewhere. To use the same address seems a bit foolish though. My card was cloned through parent pay at my sons school - they actually hacked into the system. They got about £480 out of my account in an hour - I spotted it and stopped my card. I was told they do loads of small payments before taking a large amount.

Usernamebuffering · 25/02/2023 17:52

My deliveries used to end up at a house down the road (same number slightly different street name) the recipients keep it and deliveroo order you more food. You also get told to make the delivery instructions clear for the drivers so I'm surprised this has gone on as long as it has.

Someone has too much time and money on their hands

OoooohMatron · 25/02/2023 17:54

It doesn't make sense that someone is doing this maliciously. If I wanted to piss someone off I certainly wouldn't be spending ££ on food for them! Are you struggling financially? Possibly someone helping you anonymously?

SicParvisMagna · 25/02/2023 17:55

I wish someone would pay to order takeaways to our house every day 😅

2021s · 25/02/2023 17:56

How long has this been going on? Is it possible that it’s kids using their parents account and thinking they are hilarious, but unaware that you don’t get charged and their parents do?

I don't understand why you're not just eating it if someone is feeding you for free?

QuizzlyBears · 25/02/2023 17:58

Check the name on Facebook and see what comes up? Also, if this is real - I have doubts - then how old are your children? Grooming with food deliveries is something that’s a flag when children are screened for criminal exploitation.

2catsandhappy · 25/02/2023 17:58

Get a ring doorbell. You need to know who is turning up uninvited to your house. Plus it would give you proof you are giving food back or refusing it. Very creepy.
