The stupid takeaway.

My OH has been away for a week and came back today. He turned up this evening with a Chinese takeaway for himself. Didn't even say he was getting one or asked if I wanted one. I've worked all week and done all childcare, which is fine, but when I said "well that's a bit shitty, I'm knackered and hungry too" his response was "well cook something then". I'm raging but he's acting like I'm being crazy.

this would take a lot of grovelling for me to forgive! Cant understand why he didnt apologise when he realised you hadnt eaten??

Not sure my husband would ever forgive me if I did it to him!

I’d go get dressed and take myself out for dinner( maybe call a friend on the way 😉) leave him with kids and then tell him he’s had his break time for yours see you in a week….

Yes @Heronwatcher! That's more the issue than the him being a selfish prick. It's more the reaction after where I said bit shitty and him acting like I'd lost the plot by being at all annoyed.

@Blort he went away with his friends for 4 days and then to family for 3 days (family were halfway between his friends and family).

@Turnipworkharder he works more hours than me normally so I do most of the housework, but I'm absolutely raging tonight haha. And he's just left his suitcase leaning against the washing machine. Ah the rage.

You mean he's been on HOLIDAY and not working away ....fuck that.....don't touch his suitcase what an insult to you.

You can do my washing,keep the children fed ,clean the house and work but I can't think about offering you a takeaway.... that's what his actions are saying. 😡

Don't even think about doing his laundry for him. And he can fend for himself this weekend, food-wise.

You carrying all of the load at home enabled his jolly. He's a twat for his behaviour.

Honestly @Blort if he'd saying oh I'm sorry I didn't even think, let's order more or share some of mine i would have been far less pissed off but he was immediately on the defensive like I'd somehow done something wrong.

I am with you, the first part (turning up with a chinese for himself) is annoying and bloody thoughtless…but the shitty response was unforgivable. A simple apology would have been appreciated.

I’m not normally the dramatic type but agree he came in looking for a fight. Were you ok before he went away? Are you 100% he saw friends, and which friends? I’d be concerned someone’s been whispering his ear
