Today BJ is stirring up the DUP to oppose Sunak's N Ireland proposals, whatever they may be. Surely there can't be a second chance for the idiot responsible for our current mess? There aren't enough stupid people in our country to let him in again I hope. Will he unseat Sunak?

No

ChaToilLeam · 19/02/2023 10:47

I hope not!

TheColourofspring · 19/02/2023 10:48

He can fuck off to the far side of fuck frankly

Simonjt · 19/02/2023 10:49

I wouldn’t be surprised if the UK voted for an actual pile of shit.

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/02/2023 10:49

Has he been talking to Trump?

BiggerBoat1 · 19/02/2023 10:49

Surely he can NEVER be PM again. He is a proven liar and was a disaster for the country.

LlynTegid · 19/02/2023 10:49

No.

Mr Johnson should be facing a number of criminal charges, some of which historically carried the death penalty (not that I support hanging).

CalistoNoSolo · 19/02/2023 10:51

Well yes, there are untold numbers of stupid people in the UK, and there may be enough that would vote for him again unfortunately.

MsSupineLickspittle · 19/02/2023 10:53

If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got.

But given at the moment it'd be up to Conservative MPs to reelect their leader - who knows? It would be the height of stupidity, but they aren't the brightest. They'd do it if they think having him as leader would serve them better going into the next general election.

MrsEX1 · 19/02/2023 10:56

Nah. He's an actual joke....

Q: why did Boris cross the road?

(please post the best answers!) 😂

IntentionalError · 19/02/2023 10:57

That’s up to the MPs & membership of the Conservative party. If enough Tory MPs believe that Boris is their best & only chance of keeping their seats at the next election, they will try to organise a coup via a vote of no confidence in Sunak. We all know how the process works by now. Then, if Boris gets to the final 2 in the MPs’ leadership election the membership will vote overwhelmingly for their hero who delivered Brexit.

BiggerBoat1 · 19/02/2023 10:57

Q. Why did Boris cross the road?
A. Because he thought the British public were stupid enough to have forgotten his crimes by the time he got to the other side

VaulterTech · 19/02/2023 10:59

It’s all just a giant game for these men. No consequences, no reprimands. It’s embarrassing we let this happen.

HRTQueen · 19/02/2023 11:05

Of course he does hardly a shock it was always his dream job to be PM

a year or two on the after dinner circuit will see him very comfortably off, Tories loose the next election and it’s all in place for him to make a come back

I wouldn’t write him off he still has influence but there are others waiting in the wings for Sunak’s downfall too

To hide in a fridge

User18936572 · 19/02/2023 11:15

It's not the country that decides, it's the Tory party, we have no say unless a member. We can't vote for anything until there is an election

cakeorwine · 19/02/2023 11:18

He would need to get a different seat as I think his Uxbridge seat is not safe.

User18936572 · 19/02/2023 11:19

Is MN dumbing down, there have been loads of OPs recently posting about things that don't make sense.

DPotter · 19/02/2023 11:27

Sadly if he was on a ballot, I think the Tory party would vote him back in.

There's a rumour he's seeking re-selection as candidate for Henley, where he was MP before Hillingdon, and oh boy the chatter in the ether is fast, furious and organising. Sadly the only other feasible alternative is a LibDem. I may have to swallow my GC principles if the choice is BJ or LibDems

Jourdain11 · 19/02/2023 11:33

He's already got his eye on another seat - his old seat of Henley, I believe, or Nadine Dorries's seat which she's vacating is another option.

I'd say his plan is to make money and not spend much time in parliament till the election, when he banks on the Tories losing and Labour not winning a majority (which they're unlikely to, without Scottish seats). Sunak will probably resign after the loss and the Tories will be facing a potentially vulnerable coalition government. At that point, I believe they'd select Johnson if he ran, because they think he's a good campaigner and they'd want to be election ready. Johnson is LOTO and probably performs quite well in this role, then after X amount of time, Starmer and the SNP disagree over something and the SNP withdraws support. Johnson and the Tories propose a confidence vote, the government is narrowly defeated and there's a general election. At which point, hey presto, the Tories get back in and Johnson is once more PM.

I can see it happening.

LlynTegid · 19/02/2023 11:33

@IntentionalError please don't fall for the idea that Mr Johnson delivered Brexit. There would not be an attempt to renegotiate the protocol if he had.

The only thing Mr Johnson is capable of completing is procreation.

newnamethanks · 19/02/2023 11:35

Why did BJ cross the road? To catch the Brexit bus. £350 million.

PrincessConstance · 19/02/2023 11:35

I'd be very surprised if he didn't attempt a leadership challenge. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Tories won the next election. People hate Labour with a passion.

AnneElliotfanclub · 19/02/2023 11:39

Plenty of people hate the Tories with a passion too!

Jourdain11 · 19/02/2023 11:50

I do not think the Tories will win the next election, but I don't think Labour will win outright either - unless the election happens before the boundary changes and they manage to win back a sizeable number of Scottish seats.
