Boris Johnson wants a 2nd bash at being PM. We wouldn't. Would we?

Today BJ is stirring up the DUP to oppose Sunak's N Ireland proposals, whatever they may be. Surely there can't be a second chance for the idiot responsible for our current mess? There aren't enough stupid people in our country to let him in again I hope. Will he unseat Sunak?

I wonder how though? The numbers don’t really stack up. I am thinking a hung Parliament is more likely.

I worry that Labour will bring in more gender reforms and row back on the tiny bit of progress we have made, stripping back our rights as women.

I am worried sick about the housing stock, if a deterrent is not organised we can expect hundreds of thousands more arriving and needing homes/ GPS/ school places. The systems are literally falling over with such extraordinary demand as it is.
Combine that with the mass exodus of private schools as he abolishes the charitable status and we will have huge huge classes and even unhappier teachers, and unprecedented strain on the state school system.

Even more debt as they see through niche projects, capital flight and investors leaving in droves as Labour clobbers everyone with massive taxes.

I am already embarrassed at the idea of sending ‘sir keir’ on to the world stage, he has nothing like the gravitas required.
We are about to become a very weak push over country offering new levels of wokery and appeasement.

To say I am worried about this is an understatement. We will relocate elsewhere if it happens as I think the country will become unbearable to live in. A high tax country with pitiful productivity with a bunch of misfits in charge.

Which numbers don't stack up?

Good week for Boris, the latest update from electoral calculus adds another 58 seats to Labour's projected majority.

@jgw1

It's Abba now

www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/feb/18/partygate-inquiry-focus-abba-evening-boris-johnsons-flat

Cummings, now an arch critic of Johnson and his wife, has since said he was baffled by the fact that the gathering was not probed sooner. “Dozens of people downstairs could hear it, so all the police had to do was interview any one of them,” he said in an interview. “You don’t have a work meeting, at the top of No 10, where the music is so loud that you can hear it in the fucking press office.”

Cummings is suddenly now the hero of the left wing, who all love getting their eyes tested in Barnard Castle.

Boris was so hard working that he was in his flat in the evening continuing with the days work. It really is a story about nothing.
Boris has my vote he knows what a woman is, how to treat them and crucially when to dump them for a new model.

dapsnotplimsolls · 19/02/2023 13:38

I wouldn't put it past the electorate to vote for him in the next election if it was him v Starmer.

Boris knows what a woman is and how to treat them, so he is sure to get at least 50% of the votes.

LakieLady · 19/02/2023 13:47

I wouldn’t write him off he still has influence but there are others waiting in the wings for Sunak’s downfall too

I agree. If the ERG nutjobs get pissed off with Sunak, eg over the NI protocol negotiations, they'll want someone else in charge. If the Red Wall Tories and others in marginal seats want the best chance of still being MPs after the next GE, they may feel that the lying bucket of lard gives them the best chance.

If they were to oust Sunak via a VONC, I'm struggling to who else who could get enough support to win without a members' vote, and I don't think they'd want another members' vote after the Truss disaster.

I can’t believe there are people who think Boris Johnson has more gravitas than Keir Starmer, and is less of an embarrassment on the world stage. Give your head a wobble, what are you on about? Confused

CanofCant · 19/02/2023 14:04

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he was re-elected.

How to treat them? Shag em and leave em? Do you honestly believe this shit about Boris having respect for women?????

HRTQueen · 19/02/2023 14:08

I note that Starmer is still squirming when asked what a woman is. Until that’s fixed Labour won’t stand a chance of winning an election outright

I agree, the question isn’t just about know what a women is the question will be twisted into how can this man run the country when he doesn’t even know what a women is this is the problem

Starmer doesn’t particularly have voter appeal despite many believing he is a decent person he isn’t getting voters to listen to him so the Tories really do need a leader that is similar, right now they have that for Labour to win a majority. One that voters listen to allows them a platform to not only to sell their ideas put also a platform to trash Labour and it’s been put on a plate for the Tories

I would never write the Tories off (only a few months ago according to many on MN the Tories were finished) Labour still have a chance but they need to make a change in this stance of what a women is

The question for me is why a 17th century Old Testament cult like the DUP has any influence on British govt policy.

They are the bigoted tail of a dog that should have been pts 50 years ago, but somehow still snarls from time to time in a threatening manner.

BHRK · 19/02/2023 14:10

FFS no way

TheCatterall · 19/02/2023 14:15

You’d hope he couldn’t come back as PM but then you see some of the gutter rags and the opinions they spout and how Bojo is a man of the people and ‘got Brexit done’.

their will always be idiots out there that vote for this kind of person.

same with trump.

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/02/2023 14:19

No. Surely he's already halfway through writing his book: The End of the Conservatives and The UK - How I Destroyed The World Oldest Party and Democracy.

Merryoldgoat · 19/02/2023 14:19

Simonjt · 19/02/2023 10:49

I wouldn’t be surprised if the UK voted for an actual pile of shit.

🤣

Gingerkittykat · 19/02/2023 14:23

I'm sure plenty of people would vote for Boris with 30p Lee as Home Secretary.

FinnRussell · 19/02/2023 14:23

If there was a Tory ballot I think he'd win. And I think he'd do better in a GE than Rishi Sunak. I wish he would take his lardy white arse to a sun lounger on the other side of the world and we never speak of him again but there we go.

Thesearmsofmine · 19/02/2023 14:24

For some bizarre reason some people still seem to view him positively so it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

I suggest you visit the feminism and gender boards if you want to get a feel for how important knowing what a woman is, every day without fail there is new thread all about how Starmer doesn't know what a woman is. Boris does know, he is a true believer in knowing what a woman is, so is utterly electable.

Yup, the Tories are definetely not finished. Latest predictions have them winning nearly twice as many seats as the SNP at the next general election and get this 5 times as many as the Lib Dems, that would certainly be an electoral triumph.

Boris did get Brexit done, a massive triumph after the years of not getting Brexit done because Boris and his gang refused to vote for substantially the same deal that definetely did not put a border in the Irish Sea, but somehow sees a border in the Irish Sea, that is the fault of the sneaky EU putting one up while Boris was busy checking what a woman is.

I'd rather not, thanks. If the F&G boards have brainwashed you to the extent that you think Blo Jo should be re-elected then there is nothing at all you could say to me that would make me think you have a considered opinion.

Weedoormatnomore · 19/02/2023 14:37

I hope not but lots of people think he did a great job some of them have been complaining about current PM not being British didn't even realise Boris was not born in UK either.
