Today BJ is stirring up the DUP to oppose Sunak's N Ireland proposals, whatever they may be. Surely there can't be a second chance for the idiot responsible for our current mess? There aren't enough stupid people in our country to let him in again I hope. Will he unseat Sunak?

Nah. He's an actual joke....

Q: why did Boris cross the road?

(please post the best answers!) 😂

I doubt even Johnson could answer why he crossed it!

Plenty of people hate the Tories with a passion too!

Only online, in the real world, they've been spanked at every turn.
They have no identity, who do they represent? They always seem to be embroiled in controversial issues rather than focusing on what really counts.
The economy.
Labor cannot suddenly find employees to meet demand. They play on the COL crisis, yet have zero policies.

ilovesooty · 19/02/2023 12:17

Odds this morning for the next general election :

Labour 1/5

Conservatives 41/10 - odds drifting.

AngelDelightUK · 19/02/2023 12:25

I’d support him, and I’m not a Tory voter. Let’s be honest, the two since him have been awful

QueenOfThorns · 19/02/2023 12:31

HRTQueen · 19/02/2023 11:05

Of course he does hardly a shock it was always his dream job to be PM

a year or two on the after dinner circuit will see him very comfortably off, Tories loose the next election and it’s all in place for him to make a come back

I wouldn’t write him off he still has influence but there are others waiting in the wings for Sunak’s downfall too

A year or two? The lying sleaze has made nearly £5 million already since leaving number 10 Angry

TrishM80 · 19/02/2023 12:35

The question for me is why a 17th century Old Testament cult like the DUP has any influence on British govt policy.

HRTQueen · 19/02/2023 12:37

That much 😮

well another 18 months will help towards his large child maintenance costs

he is loved in the states even in liberal California 🤨

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 19/02/2023 12:41

We’re living in the post truth world now, anything is possible.
And it doesn’t need enough stupid people in the country just enough stupid people in the Tory party to oust Sunak and replace him with the Clown in Chief…until the next GE that is.

GCAcademic · 19/02/2023 12:41

There aren't enough stupid people in our country to let him in again I hope.

Your faith in the British public is touching. And deeply misguided.

Blessedwithsunshine · 19/02/2023 12:44

Sunak’s polling is dire, he is an accountant pretending to be a PM. I think there is every chance real panic will set in and MPs will see that Boris is really the only serious - indeed democratically chosen possible choice to avoid a total catastrophe. Many MPs have already felt a great deal of regret.

I note that Starmer is still squirming when asked what a woman is. Until that’s fixed Labour won’t stand a chance of winning an election outright.

GCAcademic · 19/02/2023 12:44

I am fully expecting a one-term Labour government after the next election, followed by Round 2 of Boris Fucking Johnson as PM. Though he’ll probably have a different wife by then, and a couple more kids.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 19/02/2023 12:56

It wouldn't surprise me.

Although he seems to be earning quite a lot from speeches right now so perhaps the salary of a PM is no longer attractive.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 19/02/2023 12:57

@Blessedwithsunshine Indeed, I hope Starmer is taking note of what happened to Nicola Sturgeon in Scotland.

Roselilly36 · 19/02/2023 12:58

Haven’t we suffered enough?

I really don't think anyone cares about whether Johnson had some cake while he was in Downing Street.
I do not understand why remoaners keep going on about it.
Johnson will win the next election, the people love him, he got Brexit done, he is a man of his word.
And anyway Keir had a beer and what did the police do about that.
Who would want to vote for Jeremy Corbyn anyway?
Boris knows what a woman is and how to treat them and so he has my vote.

I wonder how though? The numbers don’t really stack up. I am thinking a hung Parliament is more likely.

I worry that Labour will bring in more gender reforms and row back on the tiny bit of progress we have made, stripping back our rights as women.

I am worried sick about the housing stock, if a deterrent is not organised we can expect hundreds of thousands more arriving and needing homes/ GPS/ school places. The systems are literally falling over with such extraordinary demand as it is.
Combine that with the mass exodus of private schools as he abolishes the charitable status and we will have huge huge classes and even unhappier teachers, and unprecedented strain on the state school system.

Even more debt as they see through niche projects, capital flight and investors leaving in droves as Labour clobbers everyone with massive taxes.

I am already embarrassed at the idea of sending ‘sir keir’ on to the world stage, he has nothing like the gravitas required.
We are about to become a very weak push over country offering new levels of wokery and appeasement.

To say I am worried about this is an understatement. We will relocate elsewhere if it happens as I think the country will become unbearable to live in. A high tax country with pitiful productivity with a bunch of misfits in charge.

TiaI · 19/02/2023 13:05

It was such a relief to move on from Truss/Boris to Rishi. I know Rishi isn’t perfect either but he’s a damn sight better

It's Abba now

Cummings, now an arch critic of Johnson and his wife, has since said he was baffled by the fact that the gathering was not probed sooner. “Dozens of people downstairs could hear it, so all the police had to do was interview any one of them,” he said in an interview. “You don’t have a work meeting, at the top of No 10, where the music is so loud that you can hear it in the fucking press office.”

CalistoNoSolo · 19/02/2023 10:51

Well yes, there are untold numbers of stupid people in the UK, and there may be enough that would vote for him again unfortunately.

Sadly you are right 🥺

newnamethanks · 19/02/2023 13:08

Blue home counties constituency here.
2015 Tory majority 17000.
2019 Tory majority 985.
That's how popular BJ is here. Fingers crossed others feel the same.
