...the UK is becoming? The scenes in Liverpool were shocking and I fear this is just the beginning.

For all we know, the trouble makers could have infiltrated from Left wing groups to create chaos and make it to the news.

Oh yes, that's why neo Nazi Patriotic Alternative are posting gleefully about it on line.

Jesus, this thread is terrifying.

I know. So many people burying their heads in the sand and pretending this shit isn't happening and isn't a problem.

Curious to know who the rich white men are systemically raping teenage girls?

Jeffrey Epstein?
Prince Andrew? (Allegedly)

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/02/2023 13:42

I'm sure it's terrifying @Thedogscollar. When mobs form, violence is never far away.Sad

@TooBigForMyBoots were you terrified also by the men dressed in paramilitary gear protesting outside Thomas Knyvett College? Or that kind of mob is acceptable to you?

thehorsehasnowbolted · 12/02/2023 18:26

Why was my post deleted? I've said that being right wing isn't a crime, and it isn't

MarshaBradyo · 12/02/2023 18:37

I’m not sure why that post was deleted. But closing people off doesn’t usually make views go away.

Generally the opposite - as with Brexit. That really is ‘burying head in the sand’ that phrase used so often lately.

I can’t see this going in the direction of openness worldwide. I’d say countries will become more secure wrt scarce resources as climate change worsens.

Governments will likely meet the electorate with what they are after, if not then higher violence is more likely.

It’s already happening in some European countries. U.K. is going towards Labour, but then again they are not going to go against the Brexit vote.

marsha, it was literally you that told posters to report any posts if they broke MN guidelines.

What guideline did I break?

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 18:42

Who knows? The post is gone. Clearly mods thought it broke posting guidelines.

On a thread re racism do you mean. Was it racist?

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 18:45

Earlier on this or the similar thread you said the best thing to do was to report any posts on any thread which people felt broke guidelines.

MarshaBradyo · 12/02/2023 18:47

That’s great. I don’t recall it breaking guidelines, maybe someone can say why they felt it did

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 18:49

The point is we can't see it and to repost what it said would contravene guidelines.

I am assuming it contained racist commentary.

Comparably speaking, Prince Andrew is hardly directly responsible for systemic rape, and furthermore Epstein is American... I’m not dissolving them of the awful things they’ve done, but it’s hardly a mass scale issue in this country affecting hundreds of not thousands of women? I’d argue Rotherham has been far more impactful.

The post was about right wing extremism in the U.K.? And on that note I would argue that Epstein is hardly centrefold to any U.K. right wing extremist, particularly as he isn’t considered ‘white’ by most far right extremists... 🤔

Head of Bank lives in Britain, was let go of his job. Allegedly very involved in raping trafficked girls with Epstein. I have seen almost no coverage. Nobody seems to care.

Which bank?
That could literally be any of 1000 or more people.

LexMitior · 12/02/2023 20:22

Bring right wing is certainly not a crime. Otherwise that would mean the 25 percent of the population that vote Conservative are suddenly criminal. That would be ridiculous.

Racism is a fact of life in the U.K. However, it is beyond naive to imagine this is new. It is not. What is new in the UK is that media coverage is sometimes more sympathetic and intelligent about it, but this probably has no discernible effect on the general population.

If anything, racist attitudes have been more evident since Brexit. I do not see that there is very much to stop it developing further either in the real world which is not the media.

When?
Yesterday?
Last week?
Last month?
Last year?
1976?
You could literally be talking about any bank anywhere in the world at any time in the past 50 years.

AG247 · 12/02/2023 20:25

Ok, but where did Epstein and his associates actually have much affect in the U.K.? Why is this relevant to the U.K.? Why is this more important than what is happening on the ground in this country and affecting its citizens directly ? Is this somehow more important than the 70k + rapes a year on UK soil? Was it worse? I don’t think it really has any role in this discussion

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/02/2023 20:27

@LexMitior is it too much to think that people would learn? I hoped that we had moved on from this because of experience, history and facts.

So, let me get this right...
Someone, did something, at some point.
And you haven’t read anything about it in the papers.
Well, that’s a story!
If you don’t know who, where , why, what or when, how do you know it’s even real?

Conclusion....
Maybe it’s not real.
Maybe there’s a bid conspiracy. I bet the CIA and the WEF are involved.
You don’t pick your own mushrooms do you?

LexMitior · 12/02/2023 20:30

People learn when they are intrinsically self motivated. Everyone, even racists are like that.

What incentive do people have in Knowsley? If you want to minimise racism you need to look where it grows and why.

And I don't buy that there are not a substantial amount of the UK population who dislike other races.

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 20:32

I think we are supposed to be imaging that the men who turned up to 'protest' In Knowsley are all feminist, kitten cuddling softies, men of huge principle, who are just defending the rights of women and girls about whom they are always terribly concerned.
