...the UK is becoming? The scenes in Liverpool were shocking and I fear this is just the beginning.

The majority of people voted in 2016 to end uncontrolled mass immigration & ‘take back control’ of the country’s borders. Yet six years later we are still being inundated with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants. Nobody voted for this, so it’s inevitable that some people are going to be very angry indeed about politicians’ failure to tackle the issue, to the point at which they feel they have no alternative but to take direct action.
There is currently a massive gap on the populist right of British politics which is waiting to be filled. People who want action on illegal immigration, rather than more empty words, radical tax & benefit cuts, much lower energy & fuel prices rather than ‘net zero’, the return of the death penalty, ending all the transgender & ‘woke’ crap etc etc are currently politically homeless.

Your post proves the OPs point.

A good programme on boat smuggling trade on R4 right now. Interviews with smugglers and money made, which is very high.

It’s fast too. Used to take longer but now a few days.

We’re going to see more as the world gets more dangerous in various places so best to look at it squarely and discuss what to do wrt law or other.

I'm sure it's terrifying @Thedogscollar. When mobs form, violence is never far away.Sad

I'm more scared about ending up like Sweden

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/02/2023 13:52

And you think mobs and violence is the answer @Alargeoneplease89?

Is that really true? A mob is just a large group of people. How many people protested the Iraq war? Would you have looked at that crowd and said, "Violence is never far away,"? Or at people protesting at Trump's inauguration? Maybe you would, in which case my apologies (I think you're wrong, but at least you're being consistent.)

I'm not right - wing. But the UK as a whole could do well by shifting to the right enough, to be in the centre. That would be great.

do you think we are to the left right now?

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/02/2023 14:36

Why do you think there is a police presence at protests @110APiccadilly?

OP posts:
ZIEVAR · 12/02/2023 14:40

Echobelly. Well said, couldn't agree more. It is good to be able to take a wider viewpoint, although this will be difficult for people living in perceived troubled areas.

RichardBarrister · 12/02/2023 14:43

It depends what you mean by ‘right wing’ - even women standing up for single sex spaces are labelled as ‘right wing’ these days so that might skew your perception a bit.

ExistenceOptional · 12/02/2023 15:28

Right wing means supporting the nuclear family with a male breadwinner and stay at home mum as the best family model, tolerating lesbian and gay people while seeing it as not normal, wanting girls and boys to adhere to traditional sex roles and clothing, etc.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 12/02/2023 15:29

Shouldn't the protests be directed at the government and home office for failing to process these people asap rather than letting them languish in these hotels indefinitely at great expense to the taxpayers

User8646382 · 12/02/2023 15:47

OP, what on earth do you expect when the police won’t get involved and turn a blind eye despite video evidence?

Even the government can’t be all things to all people.

QueueEtwo · 12/02/2023 15:58

Nothing to see here, move along! Just some concerned citizens raising concerns about the rights of women & girls!

Not at all but as someone who was 12 years old when Iraqi men fled here from the war (I won't go into: where were the children and women and numerous safe countries crossed argument) me and my friends were sexually harassed every day going to school. Its been going on for years and nobody does anything about it.

The only thing that will happen is the perverts will get the upper hand as they always do.

I now have a daughter and would be absolutely raging if she was harassed like I was.

Patriotic Alternative are concerned citizens?

Yes, in practice. Politicians are too wet to implement truly right wing ideas that could make a difference to people's lives

Alargeoneplease89 · 12/02/2023 16:43

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/02/2023 13:52

And you think mobs and violence is the answer @Alargeoneplease89?

Also did you post your concerns with all the riots due to a cricket game or does that not suit your agenda?

Just imagine what would happen if British men (yes British- this means white/black/etc) went to their homeland and done the same. I'm positive the locals would be outraged and wouldn't be sitting down for a brew to discuss the issue.

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 16:47

Ever heard of the Empire largeone?

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 16:48

For all we know, the trouble makers could have infiltrated from Left wing groups to create chaos and make it to the news.

Oh yes, that's why neo Nazi Patriotic Alternative are posting gleefully about it on line.

Jesus, this thread is terrifying.

Piggywaspushed · 12/02/2023 16:53

Sometimes being right wing is a crime. Membership of certain proscribed groups is an offence.

But being right wing is not

C4tastrophe · 12/02/2023 17:02

The UK is in no way right wing. Tories are very slightly right of center, and Labour very slightly left of center.
There will be hardly any change when Labour take over.

Anyone who dares to disagree with our woke/oxbridge/metropolitan-liberal masters is now labelled 'right-wing'.

You don't believe that every single immigrant is a genuine refugee? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You wonder if maybe, just maybe, these boatloads of young men aren't all fleeing "war and persecution," that maybe, just maybe, some of them are economic migrants, or even criminals? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You don't believe that multiculturalism is always, everywhere and at all times a wonderful and amazing success? Then you're 'right wing'.

You don't go in for virtue signalling on social media? You're not smug and sanctimonious, and don't believe that dreamy left-wing idealism works in the real world? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You have an affection for Britain, and want to preserve some kind of national identity? You are sick of smug liberals sneering at British culture and history? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You've worked hard, bought a small house in the country, and then resent a giant estate being built in the fields next to you, filled with 'problem families' who ruin your life? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You believe that children ought to made to work hard at school? That rigorous testing, league tables and school inspections raise standards? That the silly liberal approach, in which children are encouraged to 'share' and 'express themselves' sounds good but ends up as an excuse for messing about and doing no work? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You want to preserve high culture? You want the next generation to read Shakespeare and Wordsworth and Jane Austen and Dickens and Virginia Woolf, and to be proud to identify with the culture that produced them (whatever their race or background)? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You believe that maybe, just maybe, some people who claim disability benefits are lying? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You believe that, whereas small scale immigration enriches a culture, mass immigration overwhelms it? Then you're 'right-wing'.

You believe that people who work hard, obey the law, and instill good moral values in their kids aren't boring little NIMBYs but the backbone of civilization? Then you're 'right-wing'.

One of the best posts I've read in a long time
