Even Vera 😓

Just watching tonight's Vera. Obviously men should be allowed in womens' hostels. Daren't make a comment out loud as the teenagers have swallowed woke hook line and sinker.

I’m sure OP has tried to. I know several parents whose kids have been so brainwashed at school/uni/online that they literally think stating biological fact is on a par with racism, eugenics, etc., and can’t see how sexist and homophobic gender ideology is (much to their parents’ despair).

Hopefully they’ll eventually grow out of it.

I'm not the most articulate in writing but I have complained to Ofcom. As pp has stated, nothing changes if people don't say anything.

Yes - I hadn't thought of complaining, but I will do. I'm afraid my teenagers, 17, and 19, are way too far along the brainwashed road that my husband and I now feel that it is not worth the nuclear fallout at the moment. We are walking on eggshells in our own house.

I'm really worried about this.
Is it just going to carry on like this or will people realise?
My child is too young at 9 to think girls can change to be boys and vice versa but I worry for the future

YABU. If it makes you feel any better the woman you are talking about was sent to a men's hostel and looks like she was threatened/assaulted/harrassed. I'm sure with all the hysteria that's being whipped up around TW, that will become/will continue to be a reality. What are you complaining about? That a TV expressed some sympathy towards a TW?

I dont get the problem with this, in the show, she is a police officer trying to get information out of a reluctant witness.

Its not like she is going to turn around and say, and because you have a penis that is where you should have been in the first place.

I couldn't understand why the trans character was there, they didn't add to the plot development, just seemed shoehorned in.

Why shouldn't there be though? Why not? It did add to character development of the murdered person as he stepped in to help her and therefore paints him in a sympathetic light. There's your development.

What happened?
It had already been on for about 40 mins when I switched it on and anybody who watches Vera knows you can’t just follow it from there so I didn’t.

A man, almost universally loved and admired, was murdered. The fact he was trustworthy, loyal, had integrity was emphasised throughout and repeatedly. Anything more would be a spoiler! Grin

One of the people who attested to his decency was a transwoman (but not a very convincing one). Vera describes this person as a "lass" who shouldn't have been sent/directed to a male homeless hostel. Many of us feel Vera wouldn't have responded thus in "real life", ie the character that we know. The whole thing just feels off.
