If you take vitamin supplements have you noticed a difference in how you feel?

A question for you experts ...

Does the expirary date on tablets matter ?

Just realized my menopause one are a wee bit out of date !

zingally · 09/02/2023 16:39

I take a combined vitamin D and Calcium. Mostly because my mum was diagnosed with osteoporosis at a young-ish age, and I wanted to try and avoid that if possible!
I can't say I've noticed any differences in anything though...

Does anyone know how I can get an iron transfusion? Can I request it from the GP? Or get it privately?

My iron is low and I have started pills but wanted a quick boost too.

Also, did anyone find their rosacea improved with iron or B12?

It's very important to take magnesium with d.

iron infusion is a hospital (outpatient) job. there is a (small) risk of allergic reactions which the setting needs to be able to deal with.

your gp would need to refer you.
not sure if private settings offer it.

My partner have sometimes gout attack, and he swears that taking double dose of effervescent vit c helps him within a day.

worth of try

Thank you, I've ordered vit c and the cherry along with turmeric and black pepper for him. He will be rattling later x

LisaD1 · 10/02/2023 06:56

I take loads, I’m surprised I don’t rattle when I walk! I have severe osteoarthritis that had me walking on crutches. I now am much more mobile and get the odd tweak rather than pain. I’m also menopausal.

i take menopace, glucosomine and chondroitin, turmeric, boswelia and hyalauric acid.

SwankyPants · 10/02/2023 09:35

I take vegan omega 3, a multivit, turmeric, and ashwaghanda

Irrelevantdata · 02/03/2023 15:07

Can anyone using magnesium for restless legs tell me how long after starting you noticed any improvement please? I'm only a couple of days in and desperate for some relief!

Webbing · 02/03/2023 15:09

Vitamin B12 - I am unable to absorb it from food so getting a prescribed shot now every 3 months. Made a huge difference to my energy levels

Thelnebriati · 03/03/2023 00:57

@Irrelevantdata I notice an improvement after 14 days, it takes 4-6 weeks for full effect. If I stop taking it, it takes about 6-8 weeks for it to get bad again. (IDK if this will help because I also have a neurological disorder.)

XenoBitch · 03/03/2023 00:58

B12. I was losing hair, but hardly any loss now, after using a B12 spray.
