If you take vitamin supplements have you noticed a difference in how you feel?

Sorry ☺️

Magnesium for my restless arms. Can't live without it
B12
Iron with vit c
Seven seas capsules (they have a bit of everything so it's a good one to start with)
Biotin occasionally
I also take Sambucol chewables in the winter months for my immune system

I feel like I need to get some vitamin D but I think the seven seas contains it

Soapnutty · 06/02/2023 19:23

Magnesium helps with my restless legs syndrome.

greenacrylicpaint · 06/02/2023 19:37

magnesium (citrate) as I tend to get leg cramps at night without

vit d3 daily I really notice if I don't

a multi vit containing iron one week (THAT week) a month

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 06/02/2023 20:49

This is a really interesting thread. I was taking about vitamins with someone last week and they said that the ones you get in supermarkets aren’t worth taking, as they’re poor quality. I’ve always bought supermarket’ vitamins! I had to check everything I took with my oncologist ehe I was undergoing chemo, to make sure nothing contradicted. She never mentioned anything about them being poor quality What does everyone else think?

OoooohMatron · 06/02/2023 20:59

Glucosamine for joints and cod liver oil

Daisyinthegrass · 06/02/2023 21:01

I took seven seas trying for a baby, spatone and vitamin c (emergence c?). My hair definitely improved, lots of new hair growth. Not sure there was any other benefit though

Jellykat · 06/02/2023 21:02

I started taking Vitamin D in September, not had a blood test or anything, but I figure for a £5 a month or whatever it can't do any harm. I'm in the NOrth West, and although I'm a redhead, and am outside a lot in summer...I suspect I don't get enough Vit D.

B12 - sublingually - so it dissolves under the tonge and goes into the blood stream. Take a course when I can feel myself getting knackered as I had a severe deficiency and few years ago - and was told I had the b12 levels of an 80 year old... I was 35 at the time.

But I also eat fruit and nuts and seeds. Eat oily fish twice or more a week. And eat mussels - not regularly enough - but they are a great source of loads of stuff.

I'm in the NW too and red hair and my levels were shocking Blush

Aldi does a great range of supplements/vitamins. I take turmeric and all my joint pains are a distant memory. Also magnesium - no more cramps in my legs in the night. I use a Vitamin D spray - also from Aldi but they've not had it for ages so I got the last lot from eBay.

I’ve just started these after being recommended by a client of mine. She had been taking for 3 months - all over Winter and didn’t have any illness despite her entire family having colds/temperatures etc. She used to be very prone to illness.

If it does help keep illness at bay then the cost will be worth it as I’m self employed so lose a lot of money when ill.

I seem to be sleeping better too.

Could you share which Lumity vitamins you take specifically?

Thanks.

For peri I take Ashwargandha which I feel helps with anxiety and also CBD and magnesium. My sleep has improved.

For immunity I take vitamin D, I sunbathe when I can and in winter months add zinc, rose hip and Sambucol. I also make my own version of the M&S immunity hotshot (has turmeric and lemons in). I don’t get ill as much as most other people I know.

I need something to boost my immune system as I've been unwell on and off since November.

Could you share what ingredients you use?

Many thanks.

Could you share which Lumity vitamins you take specifically?

Thanks.

I take the female day and night ones. They are expensive though. I thought I’d try for 3 months and see - especially as my client dodged all illnesses over winter taking them.

For the immune system as a minimum I’d start on a vitamin D if you don’t already.

Parkmama · 06/02/2023 22:36

Can anyone recommend good brands?

Thelnebriati · 06/02/2023 23:12

Magnesium has helped me manage a neurological disorder and depression.

@TwoBigNoisyBoys AFAIK UK packaging and standards laws means if a packet says the contents contain X amount of Vit C, thats what they contain.

Before trying Lumity I was using Wild Nutrition- high quality, food grown supplements. You can also have a chat for free with one of their nutritionists if you’re unsure of what you need.

bizzey · 07/02/2023 16:49

I love this thread and now may have a
ccidentally bought more !

Can they be spread out over the day so I am not trying to digest too many at once ?

I have got some joint ones with magnesium in them...are they better to take at night time / bed time seeing as the magnesium has a sleep affect ?

Or maybe alternate days ?

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 07/02/2023 16:50

Thanks @Thelnebriati I guessed as much but I wasn’t sure; I suppose it’s a case of doing the research and seeing what the difference is in cheap vs expensive, if any.

bizzey · 07/02/2023 16:50

Had vouchers for boots so have got some stuff from there.

C1239 · 07/02/2023 20:23

Has anyone tried or heard much about the Dr vegan vitamin supplements? They seem to have quite good reviews.

Not a vitamin but I take starflower oil capsules after a recommendation on here. I had horrendously sore boobs as soon as I ovulated every month until I got my period and it’s totally stopped that. My periods have got lighter and shorter too, whether that’s to do with the supplement or not I don’t know.

thanks for the info on tumeric, sounds like that’s another one to try.

bizzey · 07/02/2023 20:56

I have ordered some tumeric and ?
Can't remember what else it includes poss vit D .
Boots have a 3 for 2 on their vitamins at the moment and if you pay with points it is even cheaper.

bizzey · 07/02/2023 21:00

I started on some CBD gummies 10 days ago..
I felt different...but in a good way.
I wondered if it was a placebo affect and stopped them for a few days ..
Nope ,it was not a placebo effect !

They were doing something good to me and I am now back on them .

bizzey · 07/02/2023 21:01

Wow !!!
