Vulva owners?!

Tallulah28 · 01/02/2023 18:16

Just came across this (no pun intended!) on Insta. Can someone explain to me how this company can use the “by mums for
mums” advertising ploy yet then go on to reduce us to “vulva owners”?

Vulva owners?!
Vulva owners?!

Maybe it's a typo? Volvo owners? 🤔

forfuckssake23 · 01/02/2023 18:23

What a shit load of absolute bollocks. Fucking vulva owners 🙄

Bugger, we’ve just sold ours.

gettingolderbutcooler · 01/02/2023 18:27

I've got a second hand 55 year old vulva available? Well used but runs fine.
Roomy. Very roomy. No longer needed.

ItsCalledAConversation · 01/02/2023 18:28

Ew. Vulva “owners”!? I thought women had been fighting against this kind of patriarchal commodification of their sexuality since mediaeval times!

WendyAndCIyde · 01/02/2023 18:30

What the fuck? They can fuck off. And fuck off some more.

Newtonsnipple · 01/02/2023 18:31

Well, I'm a prolific wanker so probably would have tried this toy.

Not now.

I'd rather use a barbed wire bat than anything from a company that describes women as 'vulva owners'. [sick]

One careful lady owner?

ArcaneWireless · 01/02/2023 18:32

I’m not sure I own a vulva as such. It came with the rest of me.

if I have to list everything else I own, I should imagine I’d be too tired to ficher myself frenzied. It’d be the same as counting sheep.

I tend to think if I own something, I’ve made a conscious attempt to acquire it. Does anyone ever suggest you own your heart? Your liver? Proud owner of a spleen?

And regardless of the product, I won’t be buying anything from a company or individual who can’t understand that the word woman is enough to describe their target market.

It doesn’t need a prefix. It doesn’t need anyone to break us down into component parts.

And if they don’t get that, they can insert their product and literally? buzz right off.

ArcaneWireless · 01/02/2023 18:33

I would very much like a Volvo though.

It would be used more than my vulva. And I could show a Volvo off to my colleagues.

Mindyoursoul · 01/02/2023 18:34

Yes @ArcaneWireless and all the other women I presume on here! I’m glad you are all here! I’ve had enough of this shit really come on now it has to stop 🛑

BlusteryLake · 01/02/2023 18:35

I bet that was written by a penis possessor

Beyonsp · 01/02/2023 18:36

Grim.
I will never buy anything from a company that calls me a vulva owner. There's a word to describe me already female/woman take your pick.
Also I never see penis owner.

siucra · 01/02/2023 18:36

I wonder is Mumsnet themselves are aware of the use of 'vulva owners'? They try and flog us a fucking vibrator and then refer women in these derogatory terms. Horrible, anti-women company.

TrollMunter · 01/02/2023 18:39

This company didn’t read the mumsnet room did they

TrollMunter · 01/02/2023 18:39

By the way you’re all hilarious. ‘One careful lady owner’ 😂

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 01/02/2023 18:41

I don't know if I own a vulva, I mean I've got one, but I'm not sure that I own it. It's just part of me. Much like my my feet and fingers.

JustFrustrated · 01/02/2023 18:42

I can't find this terminology on any of their posts, have they edited it?

On the app so can't zoom in to the photos posted.

DulcetTones · 01/02/2023 18:43

Barf.

Too bad the person running this company's social media evidently isn't a brain owner...

Ludo19 · 01/02/2023 18:45

Had three volvos had I've one vulva. Volvos got much more use........

LastOfTheChristmasWine · 01/02/2023 18:46

Seems relevant:

Honestly, I've got better things to do than worry if someone uses anatomically correct language or not.
