It's not the worst I've heard.

Thehop · 31/01/2023 18:58

I'm a childminder. Definitely not the worst.

VogueDarling · 31/01/2023 18:58

There is already a thread about this in active and genuinely who cares

"Celebs" giving their kids an unusual name it's not new

Pleasecreateausername13 · 31/01/2023 18:58

No….just no.

blossomstar · 31/01/2023 18:58

I actually quite like it

Isthisexpected · 31/01/2023 18:59

Really odd race to the bottom comments on here. Just because it's not the worst ever doesn't mean it isn't a screwed up choice.

Pootl · 31/01/2023 18:59

Doesn’t really go with Fury though… it’s like Gentle War

35965a · 31/01/2023 18:59

It’s cute, but if they go with the surname Fury it sounds terrible. As someone else said elsewhere it’s like a Bambi sequel action film or something. With the right surname it could be a lovely name.

ChaosWithEdMiliband · 31/01/2023 19:00

Don't shoot the mother! 😉

Yes and I plan to start a thread for every Baby Dumbo-Blu, Razor-Rae and Asbestos-Mae announced 😭

Sorry, not sorry.

Ha ha, I was thinking this 🤣

mysticbob · 31/01/2023 19:04

Grim. Silly pair don't realise they're naming a thirtysomething and a middle aged and elderly woman, not just a cute baby or toddler.

Compared to, say, Chlamydia it's really not that bad. A friend of mine considered it for her baby and I wouldn't have thought it 'screwed up' just quite unusual.

MaverickGooseGoose · 31/01/2023 19:07

There's a lot worse out there tbh.

LibbyL92 · 31/01/2023 19:20

I really don’t like it.
ridiculous actually.

however their choice. Hopefully the little girl grows up and isn’t mortified by it.

Bambi's darling for a little old lady.

To be fair I think there's a lot worse out there.

InFiveMins · 31/01/2023 19:24

It's hideous

GrumpyPanda · 31/01/2023 19:24

Child abuse.

PonyPatter44 · 31/01/2023 19:24

Its a ridiculous stripper name! However if her (his?) parents are slebs, its not like the kid is going to suffer, is it?

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 31/01/2023 19:31

That's a tough one to pull off.
I once taught a Cinderella. I'd say the novelty had worn off by the the time she was 17. "Awight Cinders" her boyfriend used to shout across the college at her. I think he was called Buttons!

There are droves of immaculately platinum blonde, white and camel linen and red Pashmina clad ladies gliding between stalls at the Hampton Court Flower Show accompanied by their adoring husbands in their Panamas calling out 'Oh, do come and see this, Bunty/Bunny/Bambi, darling - it's simply delightful!'.

Now, they may not have Bunty, Bunny or Bambi on their birth certificates (although we are getting closer to the children of hippies these days, so it won't be long before they're called things like Cinnamon/Mandala/Patchouli), but nobody would know the difference after they've been called it for the last 40-50 years.

It’s not real. It’s just posting for attention, or I sometimes think mumsnet themselves post some of the ones where OP is totally out of order, for traffic.

mewkins · 31/01/2023 19:35

I have a relation called Bambi 😁She must be in her 50s by now.

Smidge001 · 31/01/2023 19:36

Until I moved about 7 years ago i had a doctor called Bambi. She was lovely. I think she was of indian descent but I never actually asked her so I could be wrong. She would have been mid forties. It didn't seem to have held her back.

It’s what Molly Mae and Tommy Fury have named their daughter. So, sadly, I can confirm it’s real.

Lets hope the poor lamb doesn’t have the bandy legs and knobbly knees I had growing up…
