Teacher vaping in car

I collected my child earlier from school as they had a medical appointment and as I walked back to the car I noticed my child’s piano teacher vaping in her car. There was no one else about but would this bother you?

Peripatetic - I wouldn' think anything of it.

Head Teacher- might look a bit unprofessional if infront of kids.

Well. this was the piano peri, so not even employed by the school, so I think the OP can now breathe a sigh of relief that she's only there for the purposes of supervising scales, rather than the social, emotional and spiritual welfare of her innocent little charges. All seven of them.

There's a primary school teacher that catches my train. Most mornings I see her having a bag of wotsits and and energy drink at 7.30am. I've tried to find out where she works so I can report her.

Don’t worry, it didn’t turn me it into a juvenile delinquent knowing the teachers were smoking in staff room ! Remembering what school was like in the 70’s and 80’s I would imagine a cigarette break between lessons was very much needed !!

Same!!! The smoke met you in the corridor on the way to the staffroom. I did dabble occasionally with the odd fag - but I never could inhale so never became a smoker!

Far more interesting were the affairs - teacher A and teacher B for example were married and had a daughter (teacher C). C met and married colleague D. C and D split up and D got with teacher E, another teacher in the school. That's 40 years ago. Should they have been sacked?!

I actually think you would have feinted if you had witnessed what I did walking the dog about 12 years ago .My sons teacher was lying in the field behind school with another teacher and they were BOTH smoking! Couldn’t get the dog away from them sniffing 😅
They have been together ever since.

Yes, vaping is revolting, she should just have a cigarette instead.

Nope. Ex teacher here and used to vape in a car every day on the way to and from school. Because I wanted to. And I’m an adult. And I wasn’t in the actual school……

I'm with you OP. Absolutely don't think teachers should vape on school premises during the day. Awful example. And I'd bet that it isn't allowed hence hiding in her car.

I’m so glad I left teaching last year, some parents think they bloody own you!

On the day after schools broke up for the summer break 2018 I was in the airport with DH waiting on our flight and I had 2 large glasses of wine. When I got back to school there was a print out of a complaint email on my desk that had been sent to the HT by a parent with photos of me drinking it. The worst part was they had a time and date stamp on them. The HT found it hilarious, I didn’t find it remotely amusing.
